How to bet on UFC in Canada

Mixed martial arts today are experiencing a real stir, occupying ever-higher ratings in terms of the number of the target audience. Against this background, UFC betting is becoming more and more relevant, which has become available almost everywhere. For example, a bet UFC Canada can be easily placed via https://ca.parimatch.com/en/ufc. However, success can be approached much faster if you know how to bet on UFC in Canada correctly and what strategies to use.

UFC betting odds: what are there

The most popular are undoubtedly the UFC betting odds on the overall outcome of the competition. Most often, experienced bettors bet on favorites, while not always choosing them, relying on the bookmaker’s lines. Often the real favorite of the game turns out to be hidden. For example, the previous statistics show 5 out of 5 victories for a young fighter, but in the next tournament an athlete who has lost the last two tournaments, but with enviable skills in mixed martial arts, becomes a competitor. Most likely, in such a situation, the quotes for the young participant will be higher, therefore, UFC betting odds with a forecast of his victory will be more promising.

It is important to understand if the UFC betting line contains the possibility of a draw. If the bookmaker does not offer this option, it is more fortunate for the bettor: even if a draw is recognized, the money will simply be returned to the user’s account. If there is a “draw” among the bets, the chances of winning are halved.

Another popular type of UFC bets is on the total number of rounds. While some players are trying to decide the outcome of the fight at the very beginning, others deliberately “hesitate” to exhaust the opponent. Competent analysis of previous fights will allow you to identify as accurately as possible how many rounds are to be in a duel.

UFC betting online can be specific. For example, betting on knockout, technical knockout or rear-naked choke is common. Each athlete has his style of fighting, which allows you to reasonably approach predictions.

Where and how to bet on UFC in Canada

Each bookmaker site may have its own rules on how to bet on UFC in Canada. The best option is to use the Parimatch platform, which has an intuitive interface. To place a bet on ufc via Parimatch, you need:

  • register in the system, specifying personal data and confirming the creation of an account;
  • replenish the deposit for the desired amount, but not less than the established lower limit;
  • select the UFC-direction in the left panel of the screen, where all the directions for betting are presented;
  • choose a suitable game event, and then decide what bet and in what amount to make.

Like other UFC betting sites, Parimatch offers customer support to users. Therefore, without even understanding the intricacies of the bookmaker’s work, each bettor can receive additional clarifications at any time of the day. Just a few first attempts at betting – and each participant of BC Parimatch will get used to the system and learn the intricacies of UFC fights. And a regular subsequent study of strategies will quickly turn bets into a winning business, where the risks of losing will be minimal.

The last COVID-hit Raw of 2021 live tonight from Detroit

The road to Day 1 continues tonight with a final stop at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan with Monday Night Raw.

This and tomorrow’s NXT are the last two live WWE broadcasts of 2021 as Smackdown this Friday is a taped best-of show airing on FS1. But the show will be hit by several talent missing due to coronavirus, some of who tested positive, and some of who are being kept away as a precaution to save this Saturday’s pay-per-view.

PWInsider.com adds that quite a few WWE producers have tested positive for COVID-19 and will be missing the show, with the load of a three-hour broadcast needed to be shared among a handful of people only, making their job a bit more difficult than usual.

Five matches have been announced for the broadcast including AJ Styles vs Omos, Finn Balor vs Austin Theory, Damian Priest vs Dolph Ziggler for the United States title, Randy Orton vs Otis, and The Street Profits vs Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Plus, Miz and Maryse will renew their wedding vows!

Smackdown rating for 12/24/2021

The Christmas Eve taped episode of Friday Night Smackdown on FOX drew 1,791,000 viewers, down 422,000 viewers from last week’s overnight. Last week’s show eventually did 2,303,000 viewers, the best number since September 10.

The show started with 1,762,000 viewers and then grew to 1,820,000 viewers in the second hour. It did a 0.4 rating in the 18-49, down 0.12 from the prior week. Smackdown was #2 in the chart behind the NBC movie It’s A Wonderful Life. (Ratings credit: SpoilerTV.com)

Top WWE stars miss Boxing Day live events due to COVID-19

Some of WWE’s biggest names missed the non-televised live events yesterday in New York and Tampa as COVID-19 continues to wreck havoc.

Raw Women’s champion Becky Lynch, WWE champion Big E, Seth Rollins, and Bianca Belair all missed the New York show in Madison Square Garden while Universal champion Roman Reigns missed the Tampa show at the Amelie Arena.

WWE has not specified why they missed the shows but Rollins on Twitter wrote, “Merry Covid Christmas to me!!! I LOVE FOOTBALL!!!” If Rollins is indeed out with COVID, Lynch would not be allowed to appear since they live together.

With the Day 1 pay-per-view just a few days away, it’s quite possible that certain individuals were left off the shows as a precaution so they do not disrupt the top matches and their absence does not necessarily mean they all have coronavirus.

To make up for the change in card, WWE Hall of Famer Edge was brought in to the Madison Square Garden show and wrestled Kevin Owens in a steel cage match. Natalya was also told to go to the Raw house show rather than the Smackdown one and Tommaso Ciampa and Pete Dunne were called up from NXT to fill in the void as well.

One year on: the death of Brodie Lee

One year ago today, the wrestling world was in mourning after news got out that Brodie Lee passed away at the age of just 41.

“My best friend died today,” his wife Amanda wrote on Instagram that day. “I never wanted to write out those words. My heart is broken. The world saw him as the amazing @brodielee (fka Luke Harper) but he was my best friend, my husband, and the greatest father you would ever meet. No words can express the love I feel or how broken I am right now.”

Brodie, real name Jon Huber, was loved by his peers and that was evident in the weeks that followed with tributes pouring from all over the world. WWE Superstars, who worked with Brodie when he was Luke Harper, paid tribute to him on Raw and Smackdown and his newest co-workers in AEW dedicated a whole Dynamite episode in his memory.

You can read all the news surrounding his death as we covered it in chronological order below:

Tay Conti explains why she took off a break from social media

After deactivating her Twitter more than a week ago due to online abuse, AEW star Tay Conti explained in a post on Instagram that she had to take time off from using social media due to unnecessary comments she was receiving about her personal life.

“My personal life is no ones business and no one has the right to create false rumors and harass me for something that wasn’t my fault,” Conti said. Conti was blamed for the break-up between Sammy Guevara and his fiancee Pam but Guevara also took to Twitter to urge fans to stop pointing fingers.

“When I look at the mirror, I’m happy to see who I am and I’m proud of myself. If you like my career, great you can stay but if you don’t, just leave. One thing is for sure: HATERS WILL NOT TAKE MY HAPPINESS AWAY,” she continued.

Cody Rhodes wins TNT title for the third time on Rampage

Cody Rhodes became the first person to hold the TNT title on three separate occasions after yesterday he defeated Sammy Guevara for the title during the Christmas Day episode of Rampage on TNT.

Rhodes, who said he’ll not go heel or wrestle for the world title in AEW, didn’t act exactly like a babyface and fans have a love/hate relationship with the AEW Executive, constantly booing him or not giving him the babyface reception.

The 15-minute match which was the main event of the show saw Guevara going for the 630 splash but Rhodes countered by putting his knees up. Two Cross Rhodes later and a Tiger Driver 98 for good measure secured the victory for the ring veteran.

Former NWA announcer David Crockett presented Rhodes with the title after his win.

Cody was the inaugural TNT champion, beating Lance Archer and then dropped it to Brodie Lee. He regained the title from Lee but lost it to Darby Allin just after a month.

Tuesday it’s NXT live from Orlando and two non-televised live events, one from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh and one in Washington at the Capital One Arena.

WWE goes back to Canada for the first time since the pandemic on Wednesday with a show at the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto where Trish Stratus will host and the other show is at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore. A live event in Laval was postponed on Thursday due to coronavirus restrictions so there’s only one show in Buffalo at the Keybank Center.

And then on Saturday it’s the Day 1 pay-per-view from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta followed by a live event from the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville on Sunday. Raw is from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville and NXT on Tuesday from Orlando which wraps up a hectic week for everyone.

From fans in attendance for last week’s show, only three matches were taped for tonight’s broadcast.

There will be a 12 Days of Christmas 12-man gauntlet match with the winner receiving a shot at the Intercontinental title currently held by Shinsuke Nakamura. The participants are Angel, Cesaro, Drew Gulak, Erik, Jinder Mahal, Humberto, Ivar, Mansoor, Ricochet, Sami Zayn, Shanky, and Sheamus.

Nyla Rose to pen Marvel’s X-Men: Thunderbird #1 comic book

Marvel announced that AEW star and former AEW Women’s champion Nyla Rose will pen the X-Men: Thunderbird #1 comic book which will be released in April.

According to the Marvel press release, Rose will team up with comics star Steve Orlando and First Nations artist David Cutler and the trio will grapple with the ramifications of Thunderbird’s recent resurrection while setting him up for a bright future on Krakoa and beyond.

“At last, the news is out! GIANT-SIZE X-MEN: THUNDERBIRD is coming, and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of it! But this book wouldn’t exist without the incredible work of Nyla Rose and David Cutler, who are joining me on this blockbuster to tell a Thunderbird story that’s as raw, real, and riveting as possible,” Orlando said. “With their invaluable help, we’re taking Thunderbird on a two-fisted quest to reunite with his family and carve out a place for himself in this brave, new, Krakoan era. The world has changed while Thunderbird was away. The threats might’ve gotten more complex, but Thunderbird’s still sure there’s not a problem out there he can’t solve with his own two hands.”

The comic will go on sale on April 27.

Miz and Maryse to renew their wedding vows on Monday Night Raw

There will surely be some shenanigans come Monday on Raw as WWE announced that The Miz and Maryse will renew their wedding vows on the broadcast.

Both Miz and Maryse “tricked” Edge last week, and even though the Hall of Famer saw it coming, he still ended getting beaten up by Miz. Miz will face Edge at the Day 1 pay-per-view on January 1.

Calling it “the most must-see wedding in WWE history,” the WWE preview states, “Fresh off getting the better of Edge on his own talk show last week, The Miz and Maryse are in a celebratory mood. They plan to celebrate their love in front of the WWE Universe as they get set to renew their wedding vows this Monday on Raw.”

And as it’s typical in weddings in wrestling, things are bound to go off the rails but as the preview continues, “one thing is guaranteed: It will be awesome!”

Maryse recently returned on WWE television and will be again an on-screen character moving forward, at least for now.

Natalya breaks another WWE record

Last month, Natalya became the female with the most pay-per-view appearances and most matches for a female in WWE history. Randy Orton last month was also recognized for having the most PPV appearances and the most matches on Monday Night Raw for a male Superstar.

After the social media post by Guinness, Natalya joked that she’s so special that not even The Rock, Steve Austin, or John Cena couldn’t capture the record of the most female wins in WWE history!

Several WWE talent test positive for COVID-19

WWE logo

PWInsider.com is reporting that several WWE talent and staff tested positive for COVID-19 this week while others were contacted by the office to get tested as they were in close contact with others who tested positive.

The coronavirus has come back with a vengeance with the Omicron variant which is spreading quickly, forcing several leagues and other sports to cancel games. All WWE Superstars are still getting tested before every show and it has been common practice for several months now.

PWInsider adds that while shows are still expected to go ahead as planned this weekend and next week, the company is preparing plan B just in case those advertised cannot appear, including calling up some names from NXT to fill up the void.

Tomorrow’s Friday Night Smackdown has already been pre-taped last week and the next shows are on December 26. WWE is hoping to have everyone medically cleared for the Day 1 pay-per-view on January 1, live from Atlanta.

Everything you need to know about WWE betting

People never used to bet for WWE since the show was scripted. However, with advancements in technology, things have changed, and online betting platforms like Uptown Pokies now provide betting services for wrestling.

The WWE franchise has been a global leader in providing scripted entertainment for fans both inside and outside the stadia and has exhibited great success. WWE boasts one of the enormous fan bases, being broadcasted in over 180 countries globally. Every week, the show is viewed by over millions of households and has earned the attention of diverse demographics worldwide.

Storylines in WWE are well guided, and it is never easy to predict who will win in the next match. This is one of the reasons that made it a good candidate for betting.

Types of WWE bets

One thing that makes WWE betting fun is that the bets are simple and diverse. Some areas to wager include the longest ring time, first-time winner, bout outcome bets, elimination bets, appearance bets, and first to appear.

In the longest ring time wager, the gamblers bet on which wrestler will spend the most time in the ring in a given event. This is a fun and easy bet and depends on how fast your wrestler meets their fate.

As the name suggests, first-time winner bets are placed on wrestlers that have never won before. Usually, gamblers wage a small amount on this bet as the wrestlers have no prior experience of winning. While that is the case, it is still a fan bet as it helps fans discover new talent and focus on more than one wrestler.

In bout outcome bets, the gamblers wage on how they think the event will end. They are mostly inclined on the how and not who will win.

On the other hand, elimination bets are for events like the Royal Rumble. Fans bet on the wrestlers that will eliminate other contestants from the ring.

Appearance and first to appear bets are not based on who will win in a particular event. Instead, the gambler bets on the wrestler who will appear in an event and the wrestler who will make the first appearance at an event, respectively.

Some of the other best events to bet on in WWE include match win, near fall, retain the title, brand winner, and top heel, to mention a few.

Why do fans love WWE betting?

WWE is one of the most betted events, and you are likely to wonder why people would bet on a scripted show. One of the reasons that make it one of the most gambled-on events is the huge fan base it attracts in different parts of the world and its diverse demographics.

One of the reasons that motivate fans to bet includes the hidden value for money that WWE has. Note that bookmakers have not had a lot left to invest in WWE as they are focusing on main markets such as sports like soccer. They thus have to minimize possible losses. If you bet on WWE, you are more likely to get some yield as much as the bets are usually simple.

WWE bets also have reduced risks. Bookmakers have imposed limits on the bets to protect their investment. One thing to note is that as bookmakers protect themselves, you also get to enjoy capped amounts that will also save you from losing a lot.

Gamblers are less likely to be carried away and spend too much on WWE betting compared to other sports betting.

Betting strategies for WWE

As much as WWE is unique compared to other types of betting, gamblers still need to have strategies to win the bets. Its unique nature could also make it easy to develop sound strategies.

Considering the fact that WWE is scripted, gamblers do not dwell so much on the wrestlers’ skills; instead, they focus on the patterns. So what should you be looking for in WWE patterns? One is the history of scripting habits. This is the one thing that can make the events predictable to your advantage.

If you have been watching the show for a long time, you have some insights into some of the wrestlers’ approaches. For instance, some wrestlers make an appearance when their rival wins a title. This information alone can inform an appearance bet.

The fighting techniques of certain wrestlers may also be superior to those of their opponents, increasing their chances of winning. Keeping this in mind can help you come up with a winning strategy.

Surprises in past events may also inform your bets. The writers have patterns they are highly likely to repeat. Being in touch with the writer’s preferences will keep you a step ahead. You can almost predict a surprise that will be pulled in appearance, informing your betting choices. Another thing you can consider is past biases.

Remember that the writers are human, and the events are subject to bias. Past biases can help you predict the wrestler that will take the title in a given match.

Conclusion

WWE is one of the best entertainments that you can bet on. Not only do sportsbooks offer a wide range of WWE bets, but they are also fun and low-risk. Understanding the different types of bets available and strategies employed by gamblers will heighten your experience.

AEW fan ejected from Dynamite for holding up transphobic sign

An AEW fan sitting at ringside yesterday at Dynamite got ejected by security for holding a “Nyla Rose is that guy’s dad (with an arrow)” sign when Rose made her entrance for her match against Ruby Soho.

Rose, who became the first openly transgender to sign for a major U.S. promotion in 2019, flipped the guy off as she was entering the ring and cameras got the guy with his transphobic sign up in clear view. After a while, the fan was tracked down by Atlas Security and was escorted out of the building.

“My wife is the strongest person I know,” Rose’s wife wrote on Twitter during the show. Several fans took a screen shot and posted his photo online with funny Photoshopped signs instead.

“There has been so much more love than hate tonight and that alone tells me we are all doing something right,” her wife continued. “They call us names, call us sensitive, when the real issue is; they’re mad they can’t just get away with being bigots anymore. They always tell on themselves. Let them.”

Serena Deeb talks taking coaching and producing role in AEW while injured

Speaking to Wrestling Inc. Daily show, AEW star Serena Deeb revealed that while she was out with an injury earlier this year, she took on the coaching and producing role at AEW, similar to her prior job with WWE.

“I’m helping them with their matches, I am on headset next to Tony calling their matches, talking to the truck, doing all of that. I love that too,” Deeb said, noting that the process is quite exhilarating, yet very rewarding.

Deeb, who joined AEW after being let go by WWE from her job as a coach at the WWE Performance Center, also added that it was highly unlikely that she would have left her position with WWE if she was not fired as part of the cost-cutting cuts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since her arrival in AEW, Deeb has resumed her in-ring career and has been an integral part of the AEW women’s division.
