Several WWE talent test positive for COVID-19

PWInsider.com is reporting that several WWE talent and staff tested positive for COVID-19 this week while others were contacted by the office to get tested as they were in close contact with others who tested positive.

The coronavirus has come back with a vengeance with the Omicron variant which is spreading quickly, forcing several leagues and other sports to cancel games. All WWE Superstars are still getting tested before every show and it has been common practice for several months now.

PWInsider adds that while shows are still expected to go ahead as planned this weekend and next week, the company is preparing plan B just in case those advertised cannot appear, including calling up some names from NXT to fill up the void.

Tomorrow’s Friday Night Smackdown has already been pre-taped last week and the next shows are on December 26. WWE is hoping to have everyone medically cleared for the Day 1 pay-per-view on January 1, live from Atlanta.
