USAToday’s @TheGiantsWire Twitter account today tweeted that the Giants will announce a major event coming to the MetLife Stadium in a press conference to be held tomorrow, Friday, March 16.
The major event in question is expected to be WrestleMania 35, which will mark the second time that the big WWE event will be held at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. WrestleMania 29 with the main event of The Rock vs John Cena for the WWE title was held there back in 2013.
Detroit and Philadelphia were heavily considered for next year’s WrestleMania but the honor went again to the MetLife Stadium. The date is rumored to be April 7, which if confirmed will be the same date that WrestleMania 29 was held on as well.

Following the fan backlash and bad press that came along after WWE announced that the women’s battle royal at WrestleMania would be in honor of The Fabulous Moolah, WWE made a complete 180 and decided to ditch Moolah’s name from the event.
“After further consideration, we believe it’s best to proceed with the name ‘WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.’ What remains most important is that this historic match is part of WWE’s unwavering commitment to the Women’s Division,” a WWE statement said. Stephanie McMahon also chimed in, thanking the WWE fans for using their voice.
The women’s battle royal – titled The Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal – was announced this week on Raw and it’s a match that will give the rest of the WWE women a spot on the WrestleMania card just like the men have with the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
However, unlike Andre The Giant, Moolah had a shady past to say the very least which also involved prostitution of her trainees at the Girl Wrestling Enterprises booking agency she ran several decades ago.
Ronda Rousey has spoken about the difference of her relationship between WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon and her former boss, UFC President Dana White, along with her thoughts about CM Punk in an interview with UK’s Metro newspaper.
Rousey said that White is one of her best friends and that kind of person who she can call anytime to go for dinner or drinks. It’s a difference from McMahon, who she says she does not even have his number. While with White it’s a personal friendship and relationship, her deal with McMahon is strictly professional.
“It’s a very different relationship, I highly respect Vince and very much appreciate the opportunity he’s given me but it’s more like, if I can get a handshake from him and him telling me I’ve done a good job, that totally makes my day,” Ronda said.
The former UFC Bantamweight champion added that if Dana White just shook her hand and told her good job, she’d be wondering why only that, as usually, she expects him “to grab me, hug me, pick me up and shake the hell out of me!” The story is totally different with McMahon. “I’d be like ‘oh my God, Vince McMahon shook my hand and told me I did a good job!’”
When the discussion of CM Punk came up, Rousey said that she thinks everyone would love to see him back in WWE and she would completely fall all over herself and be honored if he wanted to be involved with her in the ring in any way, shape, or form.
“But also, it’s not all about everyone else. It’s his life and it’s about him. He’s doing what he enjoys, what he’s passionate about and what brings out the best of him. I’m sure there’s a lot of people that wish I would come back to fighting, but you know what, I don’t fight for them, and he doesn’t wrestle for us. He should do what he wants to do and what makes him into the person he feels like he’s meant to be,” Rousey said.
Rousey just hopes that if Punk ever decides to return to the ring, she’s there to see it, even if it does not involve her at all. “If he never wants to get back in that ring again, he has every reason not to, and all the respect in the world from me.”
Reby Hardy, the wife of Matt Hardy, threw some serious shade on her brother-in-law Jeff in one of her Instagram posts, when user “chanroger” commented that Jeff’s Brother Nero gimmick is needed for The Ultimate Deletion.
Reby, apparently still pissed over Jeff’s DUI arrest from last weekend, did not like the comment and decided to reply.
“Matt has busted his ass to get to this point. He & I have been fighting for this to happen for nearly a year. After the hard work & $50k+ in legal fees that *WE* paid, I’m gonna have to say NO,” Reby wrote. “He is not ‘needed’. Jeff is clearly doing his own thing & it has nothing to do with us right now.”
Ouch! The comment was posted in an Instagram post where she is featured with the whole family at the Hardy compound. “And we’re back,” the post reads.

Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting that the reason why Ronda Rousey did not appear on Raw on Monday was because she was in Pittsburgh undergoing medical tests as she prepares for her first pro wrestling match at WrestleMania 34.
A WWE.COM article last week said that Rousey would be appearing on every Raw leading up to WrestleMania but obviously that was not the case. The article was deleted from the website but Rousey was later added to the next three Raw shows, with her graphic showing next to Superstars such as Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and others.
PWInsider.com adds to the story that Rousey and Angle have been spotted in Stamford, Connecticut going over their mixed tag team match.
Meanwhile, Rousey was not the only one who was advertised and did not appear. Brock Lesnar, the WWE Universal champion, was also advertised to be appearing in Detroit but for the second time he was not there. This is part of an angle which the ultimate goal is to get fans to cheer for Roman Reigns by the time WrestleMania comes around by portraying that Lesnar does not care about the fans.
Filmmaker Jon Bravo has promised to release the documentary which implicates Roman Reigns and other former and current WWE Superstars in the steroid ring this coming Friday on his YouTube channel.
“On Friday everyone will see how real this really is….Only on Jonnybravotv on Youtube,” Bravo wrote, noting that the documentary is 25 minutes long.

Bravo alleges that a former WWE legend placed over 140,000 in steroid orders with WFN and asked if these were distributed to other WWE stars and wondered who was aiding in the distribution. The filmmaker later added that he would not risk his career or his reputation on anything that was not based upon 100% facts.
There are rumors that Braun Strowman is not in a WrestleMania program at the moment because the company is awaiting the outcome of this documentary and to see if there’s any solid evidence against Reigns. Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon has taken a “leave of absence” from his job after he admitted that his actions over the past several months, especially those actions involving Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, are not of someone who should be Commissioner of the show.
Before stepping aside, Shane had one more match to make for WrestleMania, involving on-and-off again friends Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. However, that announcement didn’t go down well with the two Canadians…and they both decided to do something about it.
The two went ahead and brutally assaulted McMahon before referees tried to stop the carnage. Unfortunately for the referees, they were also on the receiving end of a beat down by Zayn and Owens. A chair came into play and the two inserted McMahon’s head into the folding steel chair and then rammed him into the ring post. That was not enough though as both of them dragged McMahon to the backstage area where Kevin Owens powerbombed McMahon on a steel crate for an ugly-looking bump.
The original idea was for Owens and Zayn to team up to take on Shane McMahon and another partner at WrestleMania. That partner was rumored to be Daniel Bryan but the Smackdown GM has still not been cleared by WWE to compete. It remains to be seen if the one-on-one match will turn into a tag match considering what happened at the end of Smackdown.

Monday Night Raw did an average of 3,351,000 viewers yesterday, up 231,000 viewers from last week’s broadcast. It was the best number since the January 29 episode which was the post-Rumble Raw.
Hour one started with 3,351,000 viewers, then went up to 3,429,000 for the second hour, before going down to 3,275,000 in the third and final hour.

John Cena might not have a match officially at WrestleMania yet but the former 16-time world champion delivered a passionate promo last night on Raw and called out The Undertaker.
Cena vs Taker rarely happened on WWE television and never at a WrestleMania so this is one match that would probably be classified under the “dream match” category.
When The Undertaker closed WrestleMania 33 last year, losing to Roman Reigns, it was believed that he would be retiring. Taker never appeared on WWE television after that night and he returned on the Raw 25th anniversary special in January of this year.
Cena called The Undertaker an egomaniac and said that if he wasn’t in good shape, he wouldn’t be filmed lifting weights for his wife’s Instagram. The fans responded positively to the idea of a match between the two.
WWE has three and a half weeks to go to build one of the biggest matches in WrestleMania history.
Former WWE champion CM Punk says he will fight at UFC 225 in his home town of Chicago, Illinois. While the match hasn’t been made official by UFC yet, Punk used Twitter to spill the beans.
When a fan on Twitter mocked Punk and asked him when will we see him cry again in the Octagon, Punk replied, “June nine, after I win and lock eyes with my beautiful wife, embrace my coaches and shout out my entire team.”
UFC 225 will be held at the United Center and when the location was announced, rumors started to pop up that Punk would get his second outing in the Octagon. His first try wasn’t very successful, and he tapped out in round one to Mickey Gall.
Originally, UFC President Dana White was not going to give the former champion a second chance and suggested that if Punk wants to continue his MMA career, he should find a different company. That all changed when the two met up face to face again and Punk convinced White to give him another shot.

The WWE women will get their own battle royal at WrestleMania just like the men, with a battle royal named after WWE Hall of Famer The Fabulous Moolah.

The Ultimate Deletion is set to air on Monday Night Raw next week, March 19, featuring Matt Hardy taking on Bray Wyatt at the Hardy compound in Cameron, North Carolina.
The crazy match was taped last week and had appearances from the whole Hardy clan: his wife Reby, his two sons Maxel and Wolfgang, and father-in-law Señor Benjamin…along with the trusted drone Vanguard 1. It’s rumored that Jeff Hardy also had a cameo in the match although if that will make the cut remains to be seen.
This type of match has been done twice at Impact Wrestling in the past, one dubbed The Final Deletion with The Broken Hardys taking on Decay, and another one titled Tag Team Apocalypto, where The Broken Hardys took on 10 other tag teams in a 44-minute match.
The road to WrestleMania continues on Monday Night Raw tonight with Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns set for their first face-to-face encounter of the program. Ronda Rousey will also be in the house in Detroit, Michigan tonight as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon look to recover from last week’s setback, where both of them ended up being laid out by Rousey and Kurt Angle.
The celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame will add Kid Rock to its inductees this year as Billboard.com got the exclusive announcement today of the singer-songwriter being part of the Hall of Fame class of 2018.
“Every time I go to a WWE event I always have a good time; there is nothing like it and no better fans in the world,” Kid Rock told Billboard. “The Hall of Fame ceremony will be a fun night and it will be great to see everyone again. I have so much respect for what those guys and girls do. I’m grateful to WWE for letting me be a part of WrestleMania weekend.”
Kid Rock has been part of the WWE family for a very long time and performed at WrestleMania 25 and at several Tribute to the Troops shows. For WrestleMania XXX, his song “Celebrate” was used as the official theme song for the show. Kid Rock also recorded ZZ Top’s “Legs” for Stacy Keibler’s theme and the song “American Badass” for The Undertaker. Another song of his, “Lonely Road of Faith,” was used as the background song for montage clips as well.
The Michigan native will join other celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Pete Rose, Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson, and President Donald Trump in the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame.
TMZ.COM is reporting that Jeff Hardy underwent a breathalyzer test and blew three times the legal limit on Saturday night after he crashed his car according the police report.
Hardy was driving his 2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan when he lost control of the vehicle, crashing and damaging 105 feet of guardrail. The former Tag Team champion was released an hour after he was booked.
In a statement to TMZ, WWE said, “Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions. We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials.”
Usually, WWE Superstars who are involved in DUIs avoid further punishment by the company. Jey Uso was arrested for a similar violation two months ago and returned to the ring a few days later still the Smackdown Tag Team champion.
After winning the Royal Rumble in January, Asuka has now finally decided which title she’s going after: the Smackdown Women’s title.
With both champions in the ring after the Rumble, her celebration was cut short by the arrival of Ronda Rousey. Asuka never chose which title she wanted to wrestle for although rumors were that she would be switching brands to Smackdown. After the Smackdown Women’s title match ended last night, the undefeated Empress of Tomorrow came down to the ring for a face-to-face encounter with Charlotte and then pointed to the WrestleMania sign.
With Asuka choosing Smackdown, the Raw Women’s title match program can finally start on Raw tonight and Nia Jax is expected to be Alexa Bliss’ opponent although there could be a third person involved as well. Last year Bliss walked into WrestleMania as the Smackdown Women’s champion but lost the title to Naomi in a six-pack challenge match. The Raw women’s title was a fatal 4-way match which Bayley won.
Less than a year into his WWE return, Jeff Hardy has found himself in familiar territory again unfortunately, and that’s being arrested.
Hardy, who has just been cleared by his surgeon to return to action, was arrested in Concord, North Carolina on Saturday at 10:30PM and charged with driving while impaired. He was released around an hour later. The former champion was lost control of his vehicle and hit 105 feet of guardrail before his car turned 90 degrees to the left and stopping in the middle of a lane.
Jeff’s driving license has been revoked for 30 days and he has to appear at Cabarrus County Court on April 16.
His brother Matt was not impressed by his actions and wrote, “EVAH since the #7Deities have come to me, I do not put alcohol, drugs, or foreign substances into my VESSEL. I AM MORE.” Jeff has a history of arrests and alcohol issues that apparently haven’t been eliminated.
