Mysterio vs Styles for the Intercontinental title official for SummerSlam 2025
AJ Styles will finally get his match for the Intercontinental title against Dominik Mysterio at SummerSlam.
The match was officially announced last night on Raw after Mysterio, who has been cleared to return, kept trying to avoid Styles all night long while Styles kept on egging him to defend the title.
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce confirmed that the match is a go after he found out that Mysterio was medically cleared to compete. The match was originally set for Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia last month but that was called off after Dom picked up an injury.

On today’s episode of SiriusXM’s The Nikki and Brie Show, Brie Garcia is joined by her husband Bryan Danielson.
During the episode, Bryan Danielson opens up about his return to the ring at AEW All In. Brie also reveals that while she won’t be at SummerSlam, she will be in New York during SummerSlam weekend.
Bryan Danielson on AEW All In (12:38-15:20)
Brie Garcia: Let’s talk about the day after or the couple days after when all of a sudden I see you in the ring at All In. I did not know, and then I thought, “Okay, maybe he’s going to go in and help.” Nope.
Bryan Danielson: I did.
Brie Garcia: Well, you helped, but Bryan, I was like, “Oh, I know the doctor is not happy,” because I need to know, were you supposed to do the moves you did?
Bryan Danielson: Well, some of them I had cleared. Some of them I did not, but I was feeling it.
Brie Garcia: So, for all of you listening who, if you didn’t watch AEW, my husband, he retired, Bryan retired November, right? Or October.
Bryan Danielson: I don’t use the R word.
Brie Garcia: Yeah. I mean, no one’s truly ever retired, but okay. Hasn’t been in rings since then and a lot of stuff with healing and where Bryan is at and the doctors just feel and list goes on. So, I was dying because when he got into the ring and then I was like, “Okay.”
Bryan Danielson: Did you see my blue panther mask?
Brie Garcia: Yes, which I was like, “So Bryan,” and then when I saw you just do like all the different things, I was thinking to myself, “No way.” I’m like, I knew Dr. Sampson was going to be so upset.
Bryan Danielson: To be fair, he wasn’t upset.
Brie Garcia: He just thought you were an idiot.
Bryan Danielson: He did think I was an idiot. I also.
Brie Garcia: And by the way, everyone thinks you’re back. Because you did all that, everyone thinks you’re back.
Bryan Danielson: I’m not back.
Brie Garcia: I know. Well, actually, to be honest, I was confused.
Bryan Danielson: You thought I was back?
Brie Garcia: Well, I go, is there something I don’t know? I’m like, “Tell me he’s been keeping a secret from me and he’s going to be like, ‘So Brie.’” But I was like, “Oh my gosh,” and then the best is I got all these text messages. People are like, “Oh, is Bryan back?” and I’m like, “Well, to my knowledge, no, but we’ll see when I talk to him tonight.”
Bryan Danielson: I’m a wild human. I can’t be contained.
Brie Garcia: No, I never know his next step. I mean, you’re trying to convince me to do the Indies as a unicorn. We’re not supposed to, what?
Bryan Danielson: That’s a secret. You’re not supposed to tell anybody, because if we go as unicorns, then everybody’s going to know it’s us.
Brie Garcia: Okay, well, now we’re going to have to pick a different animal.
Bryan Danielson: I know. You just spoiled everything that I, all my plans.
Brie Garcia on SummerSlam 2025 (26:43-27:09)
Brie Garcia: I’m going to SummerSlam. So, I’m actually, I’m not at SummerSlam, but I will be in New York during SummerSlam weekend, so Nikki and I are super excited because we have a wine event, and then I’m doing something fun with Draft Kings. Follow our socials and you’ll see places you can come meet up with us to do some fun stuff.
Bryan Danielson: And when she says us, she doesn’t mean us. She means her and Nicole.

The Hardys vs Team 3D one final time at Bound For Glory
One of the greatest wrestling rivalries will be revisited this October at Bound For Glory.
After Matt and Jeff Hardy won the TNA Tag Team titles in a four-way ladder match, Bully Ray came out to confront the two brothers.
Ray congratulated Matt and Jeff for winning the titles and then suggested that the two face himself and D-Von of Team 3D one final time at Bound For Glory.
“What this is about is giving wrestling fans all over the world the last great tag team match of all time,” he said. “This is about something special, this is about something that can never, ever, happen again. So this is what I got for you: October, Bound For Glory, Hardys, Team 3D, one last match.”
Fans inside the UBS Arena then started chanting “Where is D-Von?”
“That is a great point and a great question,” Ray said. “Because at Bound For Glory, you’re gonna hear one last time: D-Von…get the tables!”
The Hardys then shook hands with Bully Ray to end the segment.

Slammiversary 2025 breaks TNA North American attendance record
TNA Wrestling set a brand-new North American attendance record last night at Slammiversary, with 7,623 fans at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York according to a press release issued by the company.
The attendance beat the previous record which was held by the TNA Lockdown 2013 pay-per-view in San Antonio, Texas where 7,200 fans witnessed the show.
“This company has worked tirelessly since last December when it was announced that Slammiversary would be held at the UBS Arena,” TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva said in a press release. “To see a record-setting crowd at the UBS Arena was a milestone moment for TNA Wrestling that no one will ever forget.”
TNA’s Tom Hannifan announced the number during the live broadcast.
AJ Styles returns to TNA at Slammiversary 2025
WWE Superstar and former TNA champion himself, AJ Styles, returned to the company he helped build for the first time in over 11 years last night at Slammiversary.
Styles came out to cut a promo in the ring after Leon Slater became the youngest X Division champion in TNA history following a victory over Moose.
The phenomenal one came out to his TNA theme song and said that while he was told he might never make it back to TNA, things are a little more brighter and louder now, putting over the TNA talent and the new X Division champion.
Styles mentioned some of the former X Division champions, saying they were the foundation back then, but Slater is the future and the division is in phenomenal hands.
The former WWE and TNA champion then celebrated with Slater in the ring as the two soaked up the hot crowd.
Jacy Jane wins the TNA Knockouts title
Jacy Jayne became the first-ever TNA Knockouts and NXT Women’s champion after she defeated Masha Slamovich last night at Slammiversary in a winner-takes-all match.
The match had interference from Jazmyn Nyx, Fallon Henley, Xia Brookside, and Lei Ying Lee but they canceled each other out after the four of them brawled through the crowd, leaving Jane and Slamovich alone.
Slamovich had the match seemingly won but the referee was out after a ref bump, or a superkick in this case. Jayne won the match after she hit her Rolling Encore finisher.
Her win leaves an interesting scenario as now both the TNA World title and the TNA Knockouts title are controlled by NXT stars, with Trick Williams retaining the title in a triple threat match in the main event of the show.

Goldberg says without Triple H, retirement match would have never happened
While Bill Goldberg has complained a lot about the way his retirement match ended up, the former champion credited Paul “Triple H” Levesque for giving him the opportunity, saying that without him, it would not have been possible.
Earlier this week, Goldberg appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show and was not in the happiest moods just a few days following his final match. He bemoaned the fact that it was not on a PLE and that they cut his speech off after 20 seconds.
But speaking to The Boston Herald, Goldberg said he was appreciative of Triple H’s work in making this happen.
“I couldn’t have done any of that on Saturday night without him,” said Goldberg. “That’s the truth, one thousand percent.”
Goldberg added that walking to the ring with his son was the highlight of the night for him and nothing was going to top it off.

Daniel Cormier says Brock Lesnar is “banned” from TKO
Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier revealed in an interview with former fellow UFC champ Demetrious Johnson that Brock Lesnar is “banned” right now from TKO.
The topic of Lesnar came up when Cormier gave his thoughts on why there’s little hope of a wrestling match between the two of them.
“I mean…Brock is on a banned list right now. Brock got into so much trouble,” Cormier said. “I ain’t telling you on air what Brock did. Brock is in so much trouble.”
Lesnar was mentioned in the Janel Grant lawsuit where it’s alleged that Vince McMahon sent Lesnar sexual images and videos of Grant and was also offered her services if he signed a new WWE deal.
Brock pretty much vanished from WWE television following SummerSlam 2023 and his last match was a loss to Cody Rhodes.
Kevin Owens undergoes neck surgery
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting that Kevin Owens underwent successful neck surgery this weekend.
Owens is out for an extended period of time and his neck issues prevented him from wrestling Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, a match which was pulled from the card just two weeks before the show.
Appearing on the Cody Rhodes podcast in June, Owens said that doctors wanted his spinal cord to heal on its own a little bit before he goes for surgery, which he said was planned for mid-July.
Owens added that hopefully it would be a regular neck fusion but with all the damage he has, it might be something more complicated.
ROH Death Before Dishonor moved up a week, now set for August 29
The next Ring of Honor special, Death Before Dishonor, had another change of date and will now take place a week earlier than the last date change.
The show was originally set for July 11 but was moved to September 5 to make space for Supercard of Honor during All In weekend. Supercard of Honor generally is held during WrestleMania weekend.
But yesterday AEW announced that Death Before Dishonor is now taking place on Friday, September 5 from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The location has not changed as it was still part of the multi-event residency at the former ECW Arena.
Tickets will go on pre-sale on Tuesday, July 22 and then go on general public sale two days later on Thursday, July 24 both at 10AM ET.
More seats opened for tonight’s Slammiversary 2025
More sections have been opened for tonight’s Slammiversary, with now the lower bowl pretty much all open except the sections obstructed by the stage.
TNA sold an additional 800+ tickets in a day for tonight’s show, sending the total to over 6,300 at the moment. There are just under 700 more seats available in this current configuration according to @WrestleTix and a strong walk-up would certainly sell the rest of their inventory.
This will be the most-attended TNA show in over a decade and a record for the company in the United States.
The UBS Arena in Elmont Park, New York holds 16,000 seats but the upper bowls will be closed for this show.
Collision returns to its regular time slot tonight on TNT and HBO Max

Flair and Bliss get WWE Women’s Tag Team title shot at SummerSlam
The WWE Women’s Tag Team titles will be on the line at the two-night SummerSlam.
On Smackdown last night, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss were backstage and Flair told her that she went to Adam Pearce to ask for a title match at SummerSlam…and she got it for them.
“Hold on, so you just…went to Adam Pearce, have a conversation, and walk out with a title match?” Bliss asked Charlotte.
“Just because I’m in a team it doesn’t mean I’m not Charlotte Flair anymore,” Flair quipped.
Flair went on to beat Raquel Rodriguez in a one-on-one match in the opening match of the show, with both Bliss and Roxanne Perez cornering their tag team partners.
