Kevin Owens undergoes neck surgery

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting that Kevin Owens underwent successful neck surgery this weekend.

Owens is out for an extended period of time and his neck issues prevented him from wrestling Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, a match which was pulled from the card just two weeks before the show.

Appearing on the Cody Rhodes podcast in June, Owens said that doctors wanted his spinal cord to heal on its own a little bit before he goes for surgery, which he said was planned for mid-July.

Owens added that hopefully it would be a regular neck fusion but with all the damage he has, it might be something more complicated.
