Netflix puts over WWE after 26 consecutive weeks in the global top 10 chart
Variety is carrying an article about WWE Raw appearing on the Netflix global top 10 chart for six straight months since it has moved to the streaming service in January.
In comments given to Variety, Netflix Vice President of Sports, Gabe Spitzer, said that WWE is everything they could have hoped for and more.
“We knew going in that we’re not going to change WWE. It was more, how can we add to it in small ways, and that’s what we’ve seen so far,” Spitzer said.
Raw has also appeared in the top 10 list in Canada for 26 weeks, United Kingdom for 23 weeks, and Mexico for 22 weeks, an impressive feat considering the amount of content available on Netflix.
Spitzer also talked about the rumors that Netflix will bid on the WWE premium live event package, currently held by Peacock. Peacock’s deal with WWE ends in Q1 2026.
“For us, it’s still early stages,” Spitzer says. “We want things that are going to create global conversation. And I think with WWE, we already know they have that. So we’ll continue to have conversations with the leagues that have rights coming up.”
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque added that Netflix has been “amazing” in every sense of the word.
“They are phenomenal partners, and we can’t say enough about WWE fans. They’ve shown up in full force, as passionate and engaged as ever,” he said.
Will Ospreay reveals injury, on the sidelines for the next few weeks
Will Ospreay appeared on Dynamite last night and announced that he has two herniated discs which are impacting his spinal cord.
In an in-ring segment with Tony Schiavone, the British star said that everything seems to be treatable with the proper rehabilitation and he hopes to be back up and running in time for Forbidden Door which takes place from London, England later next month
It was reported several days ago that Ospreay was going to take some time off from AEW due to an unspecific injury and rest from the weekly trips crossing the Atlantic between the UK and the U.S.
His last match was teaming up with Swerve Strickland to defeat The Young Bucks at All In: Texas.
Report: Hulk Hogan passes away at age 71
TMZ.COM broke the news that Hulk Hogan, arguably the most recognizable name in professional wrestling history, has passed away at age 71.
EMTs were dispatched to his house in Clearwater, Florida earlier today for a cardiac arrest episode.
“We’re told a slew of police cars and EMTs were parked outside Hogan’s home…and the icon was carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance,” TMZ wrote.
The multi-time champion was transported to a hospital but doctors were unable to revive him.
Last week, his wife Sky denied all the rumors that he was in bad shape after his former friend, Bubba “The Love Sponge,” said that Hogan was on his deathbed. Jimmy Hart also denied those rumors a few days ago.
Hogan had just underwent neck surgery several weeks ago and had some complications resulting from the surgery.
AEW World title match to headline Dynamite next week
A rematch from All In: Texas will take place next week on Dynamite with the AEW World championship on the line as “Hangman” Adam Page defends against Jon Moxley in the main event of the show.
While a gimmick match like a Texas death match is used to wrap up feuds, it looks like this time around it opened for more matches between the two. The AEW World title is rarely defended on a Wednesday night and next week’s match will also have some stipulations.
The match will have everyone banned from ringside, so none of the Death Riders members can interfere.
The ending of Dynamite saw Mark Briscoe defeating Claudio Castagnoli but the rest of the Death Riders came out to beat up Briscoe, with Page coming out for the save and offer the title match to Moxley.
All Out 2025 to surpass last year’s All Out in ticket sales
This year’s AEW All Out, set for September 20, is about to surpass last year’s event with two months to go for the show.
Ticket tracking service @WrestleTix is reporting that tickets distributed currently are at 8,637 for this event which is being held at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.
Last year’s All Out at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, drew 8,660 fans.
The Scotiabank Arena is currently configured for nearly 10,000 seats although that can expand by a lot as the arena has over 17,000 seats.
The last time AEW were in the same arena for the 2023 Forbidden Door, they managed to pack in almost 14,000 fans.
Tickets are available to purchase via Ticketmaster.ca starting from CA $69.75.
Cena says it would be “cool” to face The Rock one more time before retirement
John Cena said that it would be cool to face The Rock one more time in a WWE ring before he retires but he doesn’t necessarily pick his opponents.
Cena is currently half-way through his retirement tour, with December being his final month with the company as an active wrestler and a retirement match planned for mid-month in Boston.
Speaking at the Fan Expo Denver, Cena thought that another round with The Final Boss would be a cool idea when he was asked a question about it, but he gets creative direction from WWE and then they just work together.
“Where I ask for freedom…where I ask for creative expression, is not in the selection of my opponent,” Cena continued. “It is in the process of how we put forth the work to you guys. That way I can be accountable for all my failures.”
Cena and The Rock headlined two consecutive WrestleManias together, with one win each, and then Cena and Rock came face-to-face at WrestleMania 40 Sunday during the Reigns vs Rhodes main event.
At Elimination Chamber this year, Cena turned heel and aligned himself with The Rock.
WWE and Triple H pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne
WWE and its Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away yesterday at the age of 78 just two weeks after he performed in one final concert.
WWE.COM uploaded a story where they went over Osbourne’s history with WWE, from WrestleMania 2 to performing on Smackdown, guest hosting Raw, and the Hall of Fame induction in 2021.
Osbourne – and Black Sabbath’s – song War Pigs has also served as the theme for NXT TakeOver: WarGames and Survivor Series: WarGames over the past years.
Triple H wrote in a social media post that the Rock and Roll Heaven just received The Prince of Darkness.
“Ozzy was one of a kind. His relentless passion for music was something I always looked up to. From the moment I heard the first riff of Paranoid I was hooked on this sound that I never heard before,” Triple H wrote. “My dream turned into reality as Ozzy would become involved with @WWE and eventually inducted into the Hall of Fame.”
He also offered his condolences to his wife Sharon, children, and grand children.
Roman Reigns asks Jey Uso to team up with him at SummerSlam 2025
Posting a video on social media while walking on a treadmill in a gym, Roman Reigns extended an invitation to his cousin Jey Uso to team up and take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed at SummerSlam.
“These boys think they’re the future and the only way to really become the future, become who you think you are by capturing the moment…you can’t do that only on Mondays,” Reigns said. “Now you gotta do it at the SummerSlams, at the Royal Rumbles…that’s how I’ve made my career, that’s how I’ve made my living.”
Reigns said that they don’t really have much going on at the moment and none of them are in title matches, so he proposed an idea.
“So I’m going to go ahead and extend the offer, if Main Event Jey Uso, the Yeet Man himself, would trust me one last time…I loved it last night, I loved standing shoulder to shoulder taking on anybody, I love doing that with my family, accept this challenge with me,” Reigns said.
He continued, “I say we take on the Bron Brons, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed at SummerSlam with the dumbass in their corner.”
Santino Marella to wrestle for NXT North American title next week
TNA’s Director of Authority Santino Marella is stepping back inside a WWE ring and will be wrestling Ethan Page on next week’s episode of NXT for the NXT North American title.
Page unveiled an updated version of the title with the Canadian flag on the strap and put over Canada while thrash talking the United States.
Marella, who is also Canadian, interrupted the champion who was singing the Canadian national anthem, and told him that he should be ashamed of himself. Marella called Page a “bumhole boy” while Page told him he should go back to TNA.
Marella added that someone with dignity and honor should hold the North American title and issued a challenge to Page for next week. Page tried to one-up Marella but the cobra was waiting for him as he turned around, bailing out before anything could happen.
This will be Santino’s first time wrestling in a WWE ring since the 2020 Royal Rumble.
The Undertaker takes out Trick Williams on NXT
The Undertaker appeared on last night’s episode of NXT as promised and took out TNA champion Trick Williams.
Taker, coming out to the American Badass theme song, interrupted Williams’ monologue after around five minutes and called the champ a dead man walking. He said that the TNA champ Trick Williams is nothing compared to NXT champ Trick Williams and added that Williams isn’t “that guy” anymore.
The two went back and forth on respect and the LFG show and Taker warned him not to step on an OG or else he would make him famous.
Williams took a swing but Taker caught him by the throat and then took him for a ride with a chokelsam.

D-Von Dudley sits down with Chris Van Vliet for interview
D-Von Dudley sat down with Chris Van Vliet in Orlando, FL to discuss The Dudleys reuniting at Impact 1,000 and why a reunion looked to be out of the question at one point in time, losing 85 pounds with the help of Diamond Dallas Page and DDPY, being open to one more match with the Hardys, his time in WWE as a producer, The Usos using the 3D as their finisher, the creation of “D-Von, get the tables!” and “Testify!”, his scariest moment in ECW, the success of his YouTube channel, saving Maven from disaster and more!
Please note this interview was recorded before TNA Slammiversary 2025.
On the Impact 1000 reunion:
“Well, Bubba called me as usual. ‘D-Von, let me ask you a question, could you go again?’ And of course, my ego, ‘Yeah, of course I can. I can do it, not a problem.’ And when he said it I said, ‘But why are you asking?’ He says, ‘Well, TNA is doing a 1000 episode, and we were thinking about maybe doing one more match for the Dudleys.’ I said, ‘I could do it, it’s not a problem. But I’m going to tell you right now, I don’t want to do the wazzup, I don’t want to go up on the top rope and jump off the top rope into some guy’s crotch. Either you do it or we’re going to find another way of doing it.’ [He goes] ‘Can you go on the second rope?’ I go ‘No, Bubba I can’t go on the second rope. I’m not doing it.’ And of course, you know, when you watch the match, I did it anyway. I remember when I did that I went [groans]. I ain’t doing that no more.”
How did he convince you to do it?
“It was more of him saying and asking, and then the adrenaline at the time, it was like my ego got in the way and I was like, Okay, I’ll do it. Yeah, I can do it. I remember looking down at my family, and I went sorry before jumping. [Do you regret doing it?] No, I don’t regret it. Because, I mean, again, nothing happened. If I would have got hurt, then yes. Is there moments where I feel like if I get back in the ring, I’m gonna get hurt? No, I don’t. I have the wrestling school in Winter Park Florida, which is doing extremely well. And the great thing about that is that I roll around with some of the guys sometimes in the ring, so every once in a while, I take bumps, and I feel good when I’m in there. So there’s no hesitation in how I think or feel about what I do in that ring now. But at 50 years old, I don’t want to go in here and do it, like I said, until I’m 70 and 80. That’s not going to happen. If we were to do one more match, it would be the last one, and that would be it. There is no one more can you come back one more time? No, because, and I tell this to everybody when they ask, I go every time I do one more time, that one more time is over. Let a year go by. ‘Hey, you guys look great. You can go another match.’ No, we can’t, stop!”
On the opponents being The Hardys or Edge and Christian:
“If I was to do anything in the ring again, it would have to be with Matt and Jeff. I would say Edge and Christian too, but they’re in the other organization, AEW, and I don’t think that would ever happen. When the opportunity came, when Edge left WWE and went to AEW, you had Christian and Edge there, and then the Hardys were there, and it was like we were wondering why Tony [Khan], who is a huge fan of the business and always has been, why wouldn’t he take the opportunity to be the one to put those three teams together and to do that? But he never did. So I think that opportunity is lost. But you know, if I was to come back and do something, it would have to be with the Hardys, and those are the only two I trust, even though I think Jeff is out of his damn mind. But those are the only two I would trust to put my body on the line, and go in there one more time.”
On The Usos using the 3D:
“The Usos wanted to do the 3D. I was producing one of their matches, and they had asked me about it, and I was like, ‘Well, you want to do it tonight?’ They were like, ‘No, not tonight, but we want to know if we can go forward doing it?’ I was like, ‘Hell, me and Bubba don’t do it no more. I’m retired, so why not do it?’ Then WrestleMania, I think my last WrestleMania where I produced, and I can’t remember which one it was. It might have been in Dallas, okay, so had to be 38, because Bubba and I were in 32 against The Usos. I believe Jey had said something about ‘Man, I would love to do the 3D. Would you be okay if I did?’ I said, ‘Jey, I told you before we would love that for you to do that. You’re paying homage to us, and you’re keeping us relevant. Because you know people are going to say that’s the Dudleys. So for those that might have forgotten about us, will now remember us.’ So we don’t get upset, they’re paying homage. They’re giving you respect. So I don’t get angry or mad about that, neither does Bubba. We actually like it that they do that because, again, they’re giving us respect, they’re paying homage. And we were proud of it.”

Stipulations added to women’s Intercontinental title match at SummerSlam
New stipulations have been added to the Women’s Intercontinental title match at SummerSlam between champion Becky Lynch and challenger Lyra Valkyria.
During Raw last night, Lynch came up with the idea that if Valkyria loses the match, she can never challenge for the title again as long as Becky remains champion. This is the stipulation that the two had last time out, with Lynch on the other side of that stipulation.
Valkyria accepted the new stipulation as long as Becky accepted a stipulation of her own: the match will be a no countout and no disqualification.
The champ wasn’t too happy about it but eventually agreed to Lyra’s demands as well.
