RAF Wrestling and Real American Beer vow to carry on following Hogan’s death

Hulk Hogan death

Real American Freestyle Wrestling and Real American Beer, the two companies that Hulk Hogan was working with lately, have vowed to carry on with their business and honor his legacy.

RAF Wrestling was launched a few months ago and just recently signed a deal with FOX Nation to stream their events live. The first event is set for next month.

The Real American Freestyle Wrestling statement reads as follows:

Today we lost our Commissioner. We lost a friend. And the sport of wrestling lost one of its greatest champions, not just in the ring, but in spirit.

Hulk Hogan believed wrestling was more than just entertainment. He saw it as a brotherhood, a proving ground and a platform for greatness. That’s what Real American Freestyle was built to be, a new stage for the toughest, most passionate athletes on Earth. And Hulk was at the center of it.

From day one, he threw his weight behind this league. He met with athletes. He watched tape, shared stories and showed up like only he could. RAF was personal to him, something bigger than all of us.

This league is part of his legacy, and we intend to honor it.

Meanwhile, Real American Beer said that Hogan believed in this beer and its message to America and while they lost one of its founders, they will carry on because Hulk gave them a reason to believe in.

The company signed a deal with WWE earlier this year where WWE got a minority stake and its logo appears on Raw every week on the ring mat.

The statement from Real American Beer says:

For nearly half a century, Hulk Hogan stood as a living symbol of what this country believes in at its best: strength, optimism, resilience and unity. He believed in people. And he gave them someone to believe in.

When we set out to launch Real American Beer one year ago, it was with Hulk’s vision and mission. He said he believed that Real American Beer and its message to America could leave an even bigger legacy than his wrestling career. It’s a simple message and it’s written on the can: “America’s at its best when united”. Hulk was all in—not just in name, but city by city, store by store, fan by fan. In every market, thousands came to see him. He’d shake every hand. Learn every name. Take every photo. He genuinely wanted to take the time to meet each person and look them in the eye. To make them feel seen.

That was his gift. Not just being larger than life—but making other people feel larger, too.

He believed that our communities are better when we raise a glass together. “One beer at a time,” he’d say. And he meant it.

Today, we lost more than a founder. We lost a legend. A brother. A real American.

But his fighting spirit doesn’t leave us. It lives in every crowd he fired up, every smile he sparked, every story fans tell. It lives in our mission to keep bringing people together. And it lives in this brand—not because it bears his image, but because it bears his heart.

Hulk Hogan gave us a reason to believe. Now it’s on us to carry it forward.

Tributes for Hulk Hogan continue to flood social media

Hulk Hogan death

The tributes for Hulk Hogan continued at a steady pace overnight after the shock death of the former WWE champion.

TNA started last night’s Impact with an in memoriam graphic and said that the episode was dedicated to his memory.

“Earlier today the world learned of the passing of the biggest icon in the history of professional wrestling, Hulk Hogan,” Tom Hannifan said. “His contributions to this company and the entirety of this industry will never be forgotten. TNA Wrestling is deeply saddened by this news, and we send our condolences to the fans, friends, and family of Hulk Hogan.”

New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where Hogan also wrestled in the 80s and 90s, posted a long tribute on their website, saying that NJPW was saddened to learn of the passing of Terry Bollea.

Former colleagues, politicians, actors, actresses, artists, and many others also flooded X with their memories of Hogan, showing how far his star power reached.

Vice President JD Vance: “Hulk Hogan was a great American icon. One of the first people I ever truly admired as a kid. The last time I saw him we promised we’d get beers together next time we saw each other. The next time will have to be on the other side, my friend! Rest in peace.”

Steve Austin: “Hulk Hogan was born to be a Professional Wrestler. Larger than life. Charisma for days. He was in a stratosphere all on his own. His contributions are immense. His influence will be forever. Hulkamania lives on. My condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Chris Jericho: “When I started in WCW, I had the pleasure of meeting one of my childhood heroes, then years later in WWE, I had a blast with him entertaining millions…the same way he had entertained me for many years. Thank you for everything Hulkster…you paved the way for all of us. Please Say your prayers and eat your vitamins everybody….you just never know.”

Nick Aldis: “The industry lost a man today that redefined what success could look like in Pro Wrestling. This post is to acknowledge Hulk Hogan’s contributions to the industry, which are difficult to put into adequate words. Terry Bollea made personal choices that earned him understandable criticism, but I’m not here to weigh in on that. As someone who has put food on the table from pro wrestling for twenty years, I believe it is necessary to take a moment to recognize the importance of Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania to our business. He pulled the wagon and brought a ton of people with him. Brought wrestling into the cable TV era, changed the game for the way performers could monetize their talent. Put simply, he showed us what was possible. Also, he represents my childhood, and millions of others. That deserves recognition.
RIP Hulk Hogan.”

Troy Aikman: “From a fan to a friend—working with Hulk Hogan for a few years was a thrill and a privilege. He was every bit the showman and entertainer we all grew up watching. Rest in peace, Hulk.”

Titus O’Neil: “My condolences to the family of Hulk Hogan. As a legendary figure in professional wrestling, he helped shape the industry and inspired generations of fans and athletes. His impact in sports and entertainment will be remembered for years to come.”

Gina Carano: “Hulk Hogan was such a kind, gentle soul, with really cool quirky bits of wisdom, fun mischievous banter, solid bravery on top of paving the way for so many.. It was an honor to work next to this legend. Rest in sweet paradise brother. ”

Torrie Wilson: “Woke up this morning with a heavy heart after hearing about Terry’s passing. He carried the sport of wrestling on his back for years and inspired millions. So many of today’s men and women in the ring are better because they witnessed the career of Hulk Hogan. A true legend. Rest in peace.”

Matt Jackson: “Would never have been a wrestler if I didn’t watch The Hulkster. Always so kind to me and my family. Made videos for my son that we’ll cherish forever. So gracious, even when nobody was watching.”

The Rock pays heartfelt tribute to Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan death

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson paid a heartfelt tribute to Hulk Hogan, who passed away yesterday at the age of 71.

Rock called Hogan his childhood hero and recounted a story from 1984 when he gave Hogan back his headband after a match at Madison Square Garden.

“You were shocked and so happy after the match because you told me that was your very last headband and if it weren’t for me, you’d have no way of getting that exact one made again,” The Rock wrote. “You promised me that you would get more made and give me a Hulkster headband of my own as a thank you gift.”

Rock said that a month later, also at MSG, Hogan kept his promise with a handshake and a “thanks kid.”

He said that 17 years later when he was 29 years old, he was standing in front of Hogan at WrestleMania to decide who would go down as the greatest of all time.

“When you kick out of my Rock Bottom finisher – just listen and FEEL that crowd go ELECTRIC…all for you. I’ve never felt anything like that in my entire wrestling career. It takes two to tango, but that historic crowd reaction was all for you,” Rock continued.

“You may have ‘passed the torch’ to me that night, but you, my friend… you drew the house,” Rock said.

“From deep in my bones, and on behalf of this wild and crazy world of professional wrestling that we love, I say to you now, and forever…Thank you for the house, brother…Thank you, for the house.”

The world of professional wrestling mourn the death of Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan death

The pro wrestling world, as expected, mourned the death of Hulk Hogan, who passed away at the age of 71 on Thursday morning.

WWE led the line, posting a note on social media just minutes following the TMZ report. The company also created a Remembering Hulk Hogan section on their popular YouTube account and a post on their WWE.COM website.

“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans,” the statement said.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque said that WWE would not be where it is today without the larger-than-life characters that compete in the ring.

“Few, if any, loomed larger than Terry ‘Hulk Hogan’ Bollea,” Triple H wrote. “He was the archetype of what it meant to be a ‘Superstar’ – a global sensation that inspired millions to work hard at whatever it was they wanted to accomplish and a look that made him recognizable to fans around the world.”

He continued, “Hulk Hogan, clad in red and yellow or nWo black and white, was simply put, iconic. As a Real American or the leader of one of the industry’s biggest factions, he transcended and elevated the entire business to heights never before seen – in every country and on every continent. There was no one like The Hulkster and there very well may never be another. My family sends their condolences to his family, friends, and fans.”

TNA President Carlos Silva wrote that he was saddened to learn of the passing of Hulk Hogan. Hogan worked for TNA between 2010 and 2013.

“Hogan’s name was synonymous with professional wrestling, transcending the industry to become an American pop culture fixture. My condolences go out to his fans, friends and family. Rest in peace,” Silva wrote.

The NWA posted, “The National Wrestling Alliance mourns the passing of Terry Bollea, known professionally the world over as Hulk Hogan. On this sad occasion we extend our deepest sympathies to Hulk’s family, friends, and million of fans.”

AEW, who years ago banned Hulk Hogan from attending any of their events, did not publicly comment.

Many of his former colleagues as well as politicians and people from the entertainment industry posted their thoughts on X.

Ric Flair: I am absolutely shocked to hear about the passing of my close friend @HulkHogan! Hulk has been by my side since we started in the wrestling business. An incredible athlete, talent, friend, and father! Our friendship has meant the world to me. He was always there for me even when I didn’t ask for him to be. Hulkster, no one will ever compare to you! Rest in peace my friend!

Charlotte Flair: When I nearly lost my dad 8 years ago, one of the few people who was there for all of it was Hulk Hogan. My heart breaks for Nick and Brooke. Rest in peace, brother.

Trump and Hogan are longtime friends from the early WWE days and Hogan campaigned for Trump during the last presidential campaign, even appearing at Madison Square Garden for a rally and spoke during day four of Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster,’” Trump wrote. “Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart. He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week.”

“He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed,” Trump’s statement continued.

Major news outlets cover the death of Hulk Hogan, Google searches soar to over 2 million

Hulk Hogan death

The death of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has taken the Internet by storm, with over 2 million searches registered on Google Trends in just a matter of a couple of hours.

The news was also covered by major media outlets and given the front page treatment, with outlets such as CNN, Variety, Associated Press, Sky News, The Hollywood Reporter, Fox News, Yahoo! News, ABC News, NBC News, The Times, The Guardian, TODAY, The Independent, E!, ESPN, and many other local and international media.

His official Facebook page also posted a statement a few hours after TMZ broke the story that Hogan passed away from a cardiac arrest earlier today.

“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend. Our beloved Terry Bollea, known worldwide as Hulk Hogan, passed away today surrounded by his loved ones,” the statement read. “At this time of grief, we ask that everyone please respect the privacy of his family and friends. Bryan Danielson on main eventing WrestleMania XXX: “It doesn’t mean that much to me”

Bryan Danielson said that main eventing WrestleMania XXX doesn’t mean that much to him in comments given to British tabloid newspaper The Sun.

Danielson, who thanks to the power of the Yes Movement found himself in not one, but two matches on the show and even won the World Heavyweight title, lamented the fact that his then soon-to-be wife was not allowed to come to the ring to celebrate with him.

“Honestly, it doesn’t mean that much to me. My sister and my niece got to come in the ring. But I was about to marry my wife the following Friday and they wouldn’t let her come to the ring, they didn’t want her to be in the thing,” he said.

His win over Triple H and then against Randy Orton and Batista in a triple threat match certainly was one of the biggest WrestleMania highlights ever but Danielson said that there could be moments in a performer’s life that makes a particular moment “not as valuable.”

“I was going through a ton of neck pain, and all these other things, so these things that seem like cool moments to a viewer, there’s all this other stuff going on in a performers life, that could make that moment not as valuable to them as it is to the people viewing,” he concluded.

Danielson got to celebrate with his wife and kids at All In at London’s Wembley Stadium last year when he won the AEW World title, recreating that 2014 moment 10 years later with a happier ending for the American Dragon.

“What meant the most to me about that match was my family being there. My kids got to see me wrestle, my daughter was old enough to be able to remember it for the rest of her life,” Danielson said about All In. “The idea of, you know, now I’m just essentially a dad…my daughter will remember this thing of 50,000 people at Wembley Stadium where her dad was cool!”

Hulk Hogan’s final WWE appearance trumped by boos from audience

Hulk Hogan death

Hulk Hogan’s last appearance on WWE television came on the January 6 Raw Netflix premiere, and the Los Angeles crowd was none too pleased to see the leader of Hulkamania.

The crowd inside the Intuit Dome booed the former WWE champion out of the building after his music stopped and the reaction seemed to have taken the Hulkster by surprise. Hogan still thanked the fans for sticking with him “through thick and thin” and then soldiered on with his promo.

At that time, Hogan was doing PR work for now-President Donald Trump and the mostly blue-leaning city quickly let him know what they think.

Hogan was scheduled to do an appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event as well in San Antonio later that month but after he was used for marketing for the show, it was announced that Hogan was not going to be there and instead he was attending his son’s wedding.

Vince McMahon issues statement on the passing of Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan death

Former WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon issued a statement on the passing of Hulk Hogan.

The statement was posted on McMahon’s X account, which is very rarely used.

“The world lost a treasure today. Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME, someone who was loved and admired around the world. He was a trailblazer, the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomenon,” McMahon wrote.

He continued, “His grit and unbridled thirst for success were unparalleled – and made him the consulate performer. He gave everything he had to the audience whom he appreciated, respected and loved. He leaves us with one of his favorite expressions, ‘Train, take your vitamins and say your prayers.’ Today, we pray for him.”

Hogan and McMahon are credited for sending pro wrestling into superstardom in the 1980s and for years the duo were unstoppable. Their relationship also had some ups and downs but both stayed loyal to each other throughout the years.

Clearwater Police Department holds press conference on Hogan’s death

The Clearwater Police Department held a short press conference today regarding the death of Hulk Hogan. The press conference was addressed by Major Nate Burnside of the Clearwater PD.

Major Burnside said that just before 10AM, Clearwater Fire and Rescue along with the Clearwater Police Department responded to a house in the 1000 block of Eldorado Ave. for a medical related call where Terry Bollea was experiencing a serious medical related issue.

“Medical personnel provided medical treatment at that time and transported Mr. Bollea to Morton Plant Hospital where he died at 11:17AM,” Burnside said.
