Betting odds for today’s WrestleMania 32

As one can easily expect, Roman Reigns is the overwhelming favorite to leave the biggest WrestleMania ever with the World Heavyweight Championship this Sunday. Such sentiment is echoed among all bookies and has been constant since match announcement. At time of press Reigns is currently quoted at 1/9 to become a 3 time Heavyweight champion against Triple H’s 17/4 odds.
In the No Holds Barred street fight, Brock Lesnar is also an overwhelming 1/5 favorite to beat Dean Ambrose (odds 3/1). For those wanting a more speculative punt, they can find odds of 1/2 for Lesnar transforming Dallas into Suplex City by delivering 9 or more suplexes to Ambrose (7/5 says it’s 8 or less suplexes). Ambrose suffering 3 or more F5s is quoted at 6/5. Meanwhile, in the expected main event, the odds see-sawed over the whole weekend. The Undertaker is currently a 1/2 favorite to beat Shane McMahon in Hell in a Cell. Shane on his side can be backed at 6/5 to either jump or be thrown from the top of the cell.
In the male tag matches, The Usos are a very strong 1/20 to beat the Dudleyz (odds 7/1). New Day are slight outsiders at evens odds to get the better of the League of Nations (odds 18/25). 888sport is also offering 6/4 odds The Rock to either be added to the match line-up or else physically interfere during said match.
As for the Divas championship, the 1/2 odds for Charlotte point to the current champion retaining. Kalisto is also expected to retain (odds 1/4) against Ryback in the US title match while a champion whose reign is considered in jeopardy by the bookers is Kevin Owens’ Intercontinental Championship. In what most people might consider a surprise, Zack Ryder is a 5/4 co-favorite with Owens to win the ladder match while Sami Zayn can be backed at 4/1.
The remaining two matches have had their odds fluctuating heavily in the last 24 hours. In the last hours, AJ Styles became a 1/2 favorite against Chris Jericho’s current 7/5 odds, thus reversing the trend of Y2J being the a heavy favorite for the most of the last 24 hours. And finally, the Total Divas have now settled as 2/13 favorites against Bad and Blonde’s 7/2 odds. This match must also have attracted some heavy betting interest since yesterday it switched favorites three times.
As far as appearance bets are concerned, presidential candidate and WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump is currently listed at 10/1 to be seen at the Cowboys stadium. Other appearance odds include Floyd Mayweather (8/1), Ronda Rousey (6/4) and CM Punk (20/1).

A two hour WrestleMania Kickoff will serve as the lead-in for WrestleMania 32 and it starts at 5PM EST.

The first hour will air only on the WWE Network and WWE’s social media channels including YouTube, and Facebook. Ryback vs Kalisto for the United States title will be taking place during this hour.

The second hour of the Kickoff show will also air on USA Network, which is a first for WWE. This hour will have two matches, The Usos vs The Dudley Boyz, and the 10-Diva tag team match featuring Lana, Summer Rae, Tamina, Naomi, and Emma taking on Brie Bella, Paige, Natalya, Alicia Fox, and Eva Marie.

Smackdown play-by-play commentator Mauro Ranallo will be calling the shots during the Kickoff matches.

List of prohibited items at AT&T Stadium for WrestleMania

Getting nearly 90,000 people inside the AT&T Stadium will be a lengthy affair especially with today’s security. The stadium has a list of items that are prohibited from making their way in.

Understanding and obeying these rules will speed up your entry inside the stadium and helps moving the flow of the traffic.

Items which cannot be taken inside the stadium include alcohol, animals, bottles, cans, beverage containers, thermoses, food, large umbrellas, fireworks, firearms or any weapons of any kind, knives, footballs, laser pointers, noisemakers, signs or flags on sticks or poles, video cameras including GoPro devices, tripods, monopods, selfie-sticks, cameras with lenses longer than 3”, chairs, stools or other seating devices, and seat cushions.

The throwing of objects is not allowed and abusive or foul language will not be tolerated. Smoking inside the stadium is also prohibited unless at sections marked specifically for smoking.

Important information about bags policy at AT&T Stadium

The AT&T Stadium has some of the strictest bag policy so if you’re thinking of going to WrestleMania with a bag…think again! And yes, even you ladies.

All purses, bags or containers larger than a small clutch bag are prohibited. Backpacks, binocular cases, briefcases, camera bags, cinch bags, computer laptop bags, coolers, fanny packs, and luggages of any kind are strictly not allowed inside the stadium.

So, what can you take? A clear tote bag – plastic, vinyl or PVC – and not exceeding 12” x 6” x 12” is allowed. Small clutch purses no larger than 5.5” x 8.5” (excluding handle or strap) are also allowed.

You will be turned back if you try to sneak in with a bag so before packing anything to take with you to WrestleMania, make sure they fit in your pockets!

Sting appears on ESPN SportsCenter with Jonathan Coachman

As part of ESPN SportsCenter On The Road, Jonathan Coachman welcomed Sting this morning on the show live from the AT&T Stadium.

Coach asked Sting what was it like to be inducted in the Hall of Fame last night and then announcing his retirement. He said it was a very difficult moment as the crowd kept chanting “one more match” and he wanted to have that one more match but he knows it’s time to retire due to several different reasons.

The discussion turned to his final match, against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions. He said the injury happened after a whiplash and actually felt it on two different occasions. The first time he felt numbness and shock down his fingers and then the second time his legs completely lost control and explained the technical terms of his injury.

Coach talked about WrestleMania 31 and how cool it was to see him there. Sting said he wrestled in so many big arenas and in front of thousands of people but there is nothing like WrestleMania. Before he went out, Stephanie McMahon told him to just “take it all in” and described it as a great experience and something he will never ever forget.

Sting then mentioned Ric Flair and how he put him on the map when he didn’t have to. He said the Nature Boy means everything to him and pretty much made his career.

Before wrapping things up, Sting went over how he met Vince McMahon for the first time. He said he had phone conversations with him over the years but the night he made his debut at the Survivor Series he was stuck in a bus to keep him hidden and then came out a few minutes before it was his time to show up. Vince told him that it was good to have him there and then knocked him for having grey facial hair.

The Rock will be on ESPN SportsCenter later today with Jonathan Coachman.

Byron Saxton to call his first WrestleMania today

The announce team for WrestleMania will be missing someone who has been calling the show for years and years – Jerry “The King” Lawler.

Lead Smackdown commentator Mauro Ranallo revealed on Twitter that he, Lawler, and Byron Saxton will be calling the Kickoff show starting at 5PM EST and then the Raw announce team of Michael Cole, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, and Byron Saxton will be calling the WrestleMania pay-per-view.

While this will not be such a great night professionally for Lawler, it is an awesome night if your name is Byron Saxton and it shows you how much WWE have trust in him to allow him to call six hours of action straight.

Finally….The Rock has come back to Dallas!

The Rock has come back….to Dallas! One of the busiest man on the planet arrived in Dallas yesterday and posted on Instagram that at 2AM he was still at the AT&T Stadium going over what he was about to do tonight.

We still don’t know what his role is at WrestleMania and WWE pretty much gave him an open book so he pretty much can decide to do whatever the hell The Rock wants to do. The former WWE champion was supposed to wrestle Triple H but insurance companies got in the way when the movie Baywatch was announced, preventing him from wrestling.

Both him and WWE have been pushing his appearance big time so whatever The Rock does will not be just a cameo appearance. “What a night we have planned…” Johnson said on his Instagram.

His mother and daughter have been in town for a few days already and his daughter Simone has been photographed with several WWE Divas already.

A look at AT&T Stadium, the home of WrestleMania 32

WWE will hold its largest ever WrestleMania tonight inside the largest domed structure in the United States, the AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys NFL team.

Completed in May 2009, the $1.3 billion stadium holds 80,000 football fans however it can hold over 100,000 fans in different configurations, making it one of the biggest stadiums in the world.

The AT&T Stadium site covers 73 total acres and the overall site encompasses approximately 140 total acres. The 180 feet wide by 120 feet high glass doors are the largest operable glass doors in the world and take 18 minutes to open or close. The roof is 660,000 square feet with panels 410 feet by 256 feet weighing 1.7 million pounds each. It takes 12 minutes to open or close the domed structure.

The stadium once held the record of the largest HD TV screen in the world, measuring a staggering 160 feet x 72 feet. There are also over 3,000 LCD displays throughout the luxury suites, concourses, concession areas etc.

Major events held at the AT&T Stadium include the Super Bowl XLV in 2011, the 2009 Big XII Football Championship and Cotton Bowl, the 2010 NBA All-Star Game and the 2014 men’s Final Four.

The first regular season game at the Cowboys Stadium set an NFL regular-season attendance record with a crowd of 105,121 on September 20, 2009.

WWE will announce a new record attendance for a WrestleMania during the show.

WWE welcomes a new class of Hall of Famers

WWE welcomed 10 new members into the Hall of Fame last night in front of a packed crowd at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas.

Kicking things off were the APA who inducted The Godfather. JBL had some funny lines and was trying to recount some stories of the three of them but Simmons kept cutting him off because it wasn’t a smart idea. The Godfather came out and did his usual entrance shtick. He thanked the fans for everything and urged the current crop of Superstars to enjoy it because time doesn’t roll back. He said The Godfather and Charles Wright are the same person pretty much and invited everyone to Las Vegas to his strip club to share some stories because if he does it there he will get a lot of people in trouble!

Vader came out next to talk about his good friend Stan Hansen. He recounts a story when Hansen broke his nose before he even stepped in the ring and then popped his eye from his socket. Stan Hansen first thanked Vader and then JBL for keeping his name out there during commentary. He went over some stories about Backlund, Funk, and breaking Sammartino’s neck. He lost the train of thought at one point and had to restart.

The Dudley Boyz were next and had a hilarious exchange, first Bubba talking about their good friend Jacqueline and when D-Von was about to start, Bubba cut him off and said he should only say “testify!” Devon talked how cheap Jackie was on the road and sleeping at appropriate times to avoid paying tolls and even “forgetting” her wallet when going to eat. The former WWE Women’s champion kept her talk short and thanked Lita, Trish Stratus, Sable, Ivory, Molly Holly, Victoria, and Terri Runnels.

The New Day came out and did the best intro speech and some lines which had some sexual innuendo to them including how Freebirds were a great well-oiled machine as a unit, with Big E telling them that his unit is always oiled. Hayes and Garvin then came out and did an awesome speech but the two almost needed oxygen after dancing for a while with their intro. They did some stories and then invited Ray Gordy and Buddy Roberts Jr., the sons of their late tag team partners. Both thanked WWE for the honor. After the kids left, the Freebirds continued with awesome stories and even invited Kevin Von Erich to a big pop. Von Erich said that Freebirds were brothers because they loved each other, just like “The New Gay Guys” are brothers. Oops!

The Doctor of Style, Slick came out for The Big Boss Man induction. He thought he was in a church and told fans to yell “Amen” and told them he’s going to collect some money. He said heavens gained a guardian angel when Ray Traylor passed away. His two daughters and his wife came out to accept the honor on his behalf. One of the daughters talked about how she avoided talking about her father’s work at school because there were some stuff going on which was embarrassing for them, like having his face shoved in Rikishi’s ass, and serving the dog Pepper to Al Snow.

John Cena was out for his induction of Snoop Dogg. Cena kept his speech short and said when he says “Hi” to Snoop it doesn’t always mean “Hello!” He pointed out the fact that Snoop has made more WrestleMania appearances than 10 of the Superstars on tomorrow’s card. He called WWE Snoop’s home and there’s always interesting drug test results the next day after he leaves. Hah! Snoop came out and was very respectful and came out as a genuine fan who really loves WWE. He gave a shout out to his cousin Sasha Banks and said how proud he was of her. He closed his speech with a rap, something that he does “part time at home.” Good speech.

Dana Warrior presented Joan Lunden with the Warrior Award for her pulic work in the fight against breast cancer. Lunden thanked WWE fans and called them the best fans in the world.

Ric Flair was up next for the main event. It didn’t take long for him to cry and thanked the McMahon family for the way they kept honoring Dusty Rhodes and Roddy Piper after they passed. He had a shout out for his daughter Charlotte, and then started talking about Sting. Sting got a big ovation and had a terrific speech, first talking about how he and Warrior broke in the business. He said that he had some great highlights in WCW, including teaming with Robocop and the White Castle of Fear with Vader. Hah. He told a story how one time when the nWo cleaned house and he and Nash were down in the ring, Nash crawled next to Sting and asked him if he can spoon him! He thanked God, his family, and his children and said that he finally got to wrestle at a WrestleMania. He pointed out Road Dogg, Michael Hayes, and Jim Ross for their fantastic advice throughout the years and then announced his retirement.

Sting announces his retirement at the 2016 Hall of Fame ceremony

WWE Hall of Famer Sting officially announced his retirement at the ceremony much to the disappointment of the crowd who kept chanting “one more match.”

The retirement announcement was actually revealed by TMZ weeks ago who quoted sources close to Sting who said he will make the announcement at the Hall of Fame. Sting however refuted those claims a few days later in an interview with WWE.COM.

“The only thing that’s for sure about Sting is nothing’s for sure…until now,” Sting said at the ceremony, with fans immediately chanting “No No No.” He then proceeded to announce that he’s pulling down the curtain on his wrestling career under the WWE umbrella.

Sting then got his sunglasses and the baseball bat and said, “I just want you to know that this isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later.”

During his speech, fans kept chanting “one more match” and “Undertaker,” two chants that Sting chose to ignore and not address immediately.

Sting wrestled two matches under the WWE brand, first against Triple H at his only WrestleMania appearance and the WWE World Heavyweight title match against Seth Rollins at Night Of Champions, a match which ultimately ended his career.

John Cena returns on TV at the Hall of Fame ceremony

John Cena returned on WWE television during the Hall of Fame ceremony where he inducted Snoop Dogg into the celebrity wing. Cena’s appearance was not advertised and it was his first time on TV since early January.

“When it came time to find someone to induct Snoop Dog, it was a no brainer,” Jerry Lawler said. “We had to find someone with similar background, similar lifestyle, similar habits, and similar physique.”

At that point Cena’s music hit the speakers accompanied by “John Cena sucks” chants. As expected, Cena received the usual welcome – a chorus of boos – from the Hall of Fame crowd. Cena smiled at the reaction however never addressed it. He kept his appearance strictly related to the Hall of Fame.

There are rumors that Cena has been medically cleared and is expected to be part of WrestleMania tomorrow or Raw on Monday.

AT&T Stadium nearly complete to host WrestleMania 32

The stage for WrestleMania 32 is pretty much ready for show time as the latest picture from inside the stadium shows the final preparations being done.

A huge star will serve as the stage which leads to the ramp, with both the star and the ramp seamlessly morphing into each other. Big LED screens serve as the backdrop on the stage with the WrestleMania 32 and another huge star hang on the top.

The colorful light steel structures look like spider legs with the Hell In A Cell cage pretty much hiding in the middle. Large LCD screens are installed on each side but they are dwarfed by the massive screens high above.

The only thing still missing are the chairs which will occupy the floor of the stadium. The AT&T Stadium will welcome the biggest audience in WrestleMania history tomorrow.

You can see the new photo from inside the stadium below.

The 2016 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony live tonight on WWE Network

Live tonight from the American Airlines Center and on the WWE Network, WWE presents the 2016 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Joining the Hall of Fame tonight are The Godfather, the late Big Boss Man, Jacqueline Moore, The Fabulous Freebirds, Stan Hansen, and Sting, who will headline the event. Snoop Dogg will be inducted into the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame while Joan Lunden will be receiving the Warrior Award.

The Hall of Fame ceremony kicks off on the WWE Network at 8PM EST however there will be  a one hour red carpet arrival starting at 7PM EST hosted by Maria Menounos.

Participants so far in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

So far there are 16 WWE Superstars who threw in their name to be part of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, leaving 4 unannounced names.

Those who are participating, in alphabetical order, are Adam Rose, Big Show, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, Damien Sandow, Darren Young, Fandango, Goldust, Heath Slater, Jack Swagger, Kane, Konnor, Mark Henry, R-Truth, Tyler Breeze and Viktor.

Missing names include the Wyatt Family – Bray, Rowan, and Strowman – who still don’t have any official role during WrestleMania. Wyatt teased something for Mania but at this point it’s not known what he will do.

Even if all three are added to the 20-man battle royal it would still leave one place remaining.

Who is inducting whom at the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame

Those being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame tonight will probably be speaking for a long…long time however prior to that, it’s up to those inducting them to set the tone and get the crowd going.

Choosing who is going to induct who is usually up to those who are getting the honors that evening however more often than not WWE ends up making the final decision, and sometimes changing, who will be doing the honors for these legends.

Inducting Sting tonight will be none other than 16-time World Heavyweight champion Ric Flair. The Nature Boy is the only 2-time WWE Hall of Famer and shares a very long history with Sting and probably was the best person to induct the Stinger. Flair has previously helped induct Harley Race, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and Tatsumi Fujinami.

Doing the honors for the late Big Boss Man will be his former manager Slick. The Doctor of Style accompanied Boss Man when he first came in the WWE and was also his manager when he teamed with Akeem to form the Twin Towers. This will be Slick’s first time at the Hall of Fame. It’s not known who will be doing the acceptance speech on behalf of the Big Boss Man.

The Godfather – hopefully arriving with the ho train – will be inducted by Hall of Famer Ron Simmons and his former tag team partner John “Bradshaw” Layfield of the APA. The three are big friends which is why the APA were picked to do the honors for The Godfather. JBL has inducted Simmons before but this will be Simmons’ first time inducting someone else.

The Fabulous Freebirds are being inducted by The New Day, a choice which baffled a lot of minds considering the two share no history whatsoever and the only thing related to the Freebirds is that The New Day use the “Freebird rule” when defending their titles. Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin will be there in person however the other two former members, Buddy Roberts and Terry Gordy will be inducted posthumously. It’s The New Day’s first time inducting at the Hall of Fame.

Jacqueline Moore has personally chosen The Dudley Boyz to induct her. “Chose the Dudley Boyz because they are my good friends behind the scenes. They are like brothers to me. They know what makes me tick,” Moore explained on Twitter why she went with the former tag team champions. “No regrets. Love the Dudley Boyz. They keep it real.” This will also be the Dudley Boyz first time inducting someone at the Hall.

Former WCW champion Vader will be doing the honors for Stan Hansen. The two share a long rivalry between them over in Japan and Vader is probably the best one to welcome Hansen in the Hall of Fame. Hansen has already delivered a speech when he inducted Antonio Inoki a couple of years ago however this is Vader’s first time on the podium.

The Warrior Award will be presented to Joan Lunden by Warrior’s widow, Dana. The Warrior Award has taken a different turn than what Warrior wished it would have been as during his speech he said he would love an award to recognize those hardworking individuals backstage who contribute a lot to the world of professional wrestling. Dana was okay with Lunden receiving the award and was thrilled with the selection.

Snoop Dogg’s induction is still to be announced. The super WWE fan will join the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame and hopefully will not be smoking weed on stage. Snoop Dogg is the cousin of WWE Diva Sasha Banks so she might have something to do with his introduction.

A look at the the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2016

WWE welcomes nine new Hall of Famers and one in the celebrity wing, sending the total number of Hall of Fame inductees to over 130.

Headlining will be Sting, whose long and storied career in WCW is pretty well documented. It took him till the end of his career to jump to WWE but he got his WrestleMania moment last year, wrestling Triple H during the show. Sting’s title reigns include six WCW heavyweight championships, two United States titles, three WCW Tag Team titles, two NWA Heavyweight titles, and four TNA World titles.

The Godfather might not scream Hall of Fame from the very beginning but the man behind the gimmick, Charles Wright, was one of the many who pushed the envelope during the Attitude Era. His career started earlier than that wrestling for WWF as Papa Shango and then as Kama in the Nation of Domination. The Godfather is a former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team champion.

Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, Buddy Roberts, and Jimmy Garvin, collectively known as the Fabulous Freebirds, are one of the most recognizable groups in pro wrestling history. Their feud with the Von Erichs in World Class Championship Wrestling is legendary and they are credited for creating the “Freebird rule.” They are former two time WCW Tag Team champions, two time WCW United States Tag Team champions and one time WCW 6-man Tag Team champions. Yes, that title did exist!

The Big Boss Man had been a staple in the then WWF in the late 80s and early 90s and had memorable feuds with Hulk Hogan, The Mountie, Nailz, and others. He spent part of his career as a tag team with Akeem as the Twin Towers and then later in his career joined Vince McMahon’s The Corporation as the enforcer. During the Attitude Era he is perhaps best known for dragging Big Show’s father casket with a car while Big Show “casket surfed” and “serving” Al Snow’s dog Pepper to Snow without him knowing. The former corrections officer from Marietta, Georgia passed away in 2004. He is a four time WWE Hardcore champion and a one time WWE Tag Team champion.

Jacqueline Moore, who wrestled simply as Jacqueline, was another important female wrestler during the Attitude Era. She had her own fair share of bra and panties matches and even suffered a wardrobe malfunction during a jaw-dropping bikini contest against Sable but there’s no denying her wrestling abilities. She is a former two time WWE Women’s champion as well as a former Cruiserweight champion.

Stan Hansen’s career was pretty much made in Japan. Despite small runs in WWF, AWA, and WCW, his career took off while in All Japan Pro Wrestling where he had memorable feuds with Vader, Mitsuharu Misawa, and even wrestled Hulk Hogan in 1990 during an AJPW show held in connection with the WWF. He is considered the master of the lariat clothesline. He is a one time AWA World Heavyweight champion, and a one time NWA United States champion.

Joining these individuals will be Snoop Dogg who will be inducted into the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame and Joan Lunden who will get the Warrior Award.

Japanese sensation Kota Ibushi at NXT Takeover: Dallas

Apart from Bobby Roode, another Superstar was ringside at NXT Takeover: Dallas yesterday and his name is Kota Ibushi.

Ibushi was accompanied by former WWE star Funaki and backstage posed for a photo with NXT’s William Regal as well. WWE did not announce that he signed with the company however in an article on WWE.COM they wrote, “Does the man they call ‘Golden Star’ have plans to enter his name into the recently announced Global Cruiserweight Series? What dream matchup could be in store for Ibushi?”

The 33 year old is a Japanese pro wrestler who in New Japan Pro Wrestling won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title three times and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team title once. He resigned from NJPW in February of this year and is currently a free agent. He spent a large portion of his wrestling career working for the DDT – Dramatic Tag Team – promotion.

Ibushi wrestled in the United States before for Ring Of Honor, Chikara, and EVOLVE.
