Double or Nothing

The Anarchy in the Arena match was set up last night on Dynamite, just 10 days before the Double or Nothing pay-per-view where the match will take place.

14 individuals were involved in the post-match brawl, with Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega, Powerhouse Hobbs, Mike Bailey, Samoa Joe, and Willow Nightingale teaming up to battle Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, Marina Shafir, and Gabe Kidd.

It was Strickland who issued the challenge for the gimmick match much to the enjoyment of the fans. Anarchy in the Arena has been present for the past three Double or Nothing pay-per-views.

The match has not been officially announced yet and it’s unclear how many participants will be in. The 2023 and 2024 editions of the match featured four vs four but the 2022 edition was five vs five.

Dirty Dom on WrestleMania crowd reaction: “So surreal, I never expected it”

Speaking on the Casual Conversations podcast, WWE Intercontinental champion Dominik Mysterio said it was “surreal” at WrestleMania to receive those loud cheers from the crowd just minutes after he was booed by the same crowd.

Dirty Dom won the Intercontinental title in a fatal four-way which also included then-champion Bron Breakker, his Judgment Day partner Finn Balor, and Penta.

“Walking out, getting booed, to walking back after the match to just endless amounts of cheers and just them singing this Dirty Dom song…dude, it was so, so surreal,” Dom said. “I never expected it. Especially the kind of reaction I got.”

Mysterio said it was a huge blessing for him, especially to walk out of the match with the gold, taking him less than five years to become “better than that deadbeat” father of his.

He said that his record at WrestleMania was 0-3 and all his previous Mania matches involved his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, so he blamed his record on his dad.

“So everything it had to do with him. So the fact that I was walking into this WrestleMania alone as myself, Dirty Dom, the greatest Mysterio of all time,” Dom said.

Gail Kim to referee NWA Women’s championship match featuring Natalya

NWA

TNA Hall of Famer Gail Kim will be referring the match between NWA Women’s champion Kenzie Paige and WWE Superstar Natalya this coming Saturday during the NWA Crockett Cup event.

The announcement came straight from NWA CEO Billy Corgan.

“As the person who booked this very special match-up between the WWE’s Natalya and NWA World Women’s Champion Kenzie Paige, in a championship match no less, and given the bad blood between the two stars, which has only built since the Bloodsport event in Vegas and of course Ms. Paige’s unseemly attack at The Dungeon, I’ve come to a very important conclusion: which is that the officiating of this match must be handled in a very particular way,” Corgan wrote.

He said that while he has full confidence in the NWA referees, he’s concerned about their safety and wants a clear and just result.

“I’ve named Gail Kim as the special guest referee for this contest at Crockett Cup, Saturday, May 17th in Philadelphia; for I know well Ms. Kim’s impeccable and unimpeachable integrity in the sport of professional wrestling. May the best lady win.”
