Jim Ross announces colon cancer diagnosis

AEW announcer Jim Ross announced some unfortunate news on X today, saying he has been diagnosed with colon cancer this week.

“Surgery being scheduled in the next week or two. I appreciate your concern and support,” Ross wrote.

The 73-year-old WWE Hall of Famer has had bouts with cancer over the past years, including the latest one last year where he underwent surgery for cancer on his right hip. In 2021, he was also diagnosed with skin cancer.

His health problems prevented him from doing much commentary over the past several months, with his role behind the mic greatly reduced.

Best wishes to JR for a speedy recovery.
