AEW Grand Slam: Australia to be a yearly event after five-year deal signed

Grand Slam Australia

The AEW Grand Slam: Australia is going to be a yearly event moving forward, at least for five years.

Wrestle Radio Australia revealed that AEW signed a five-year deal with TEG Sport last year to bring AEW action every year to the country.

The first Grand Slam: Australia was held earlier this year in Brisbane and AEW is returning for the second show in February of next year in Sydney. They will also have a rare house show in Brisbane the following night.

Originally set for the SunCorp Stadium, this year’s Grand Slam was eventually moved to the indoor Brisbane Entertainment Centre due to low ticket sales.

TEG Sport has agreements with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool FC, Top Rank, NHL, and others to bring events in Australia.

1285 music and casinos: how soundtracks influence online play

How soundtracks influence your online play

If you’ve ever spun the reels of Aussie pokies on LuckyGreen, you already know the experience is about more than just dazzling graphics and colourful symbols. The soundtracks, effects, and even subtle background tunes are a core part of what makes online play immersive. Music sets the stage, shapes emotions, and influences how long we stay engaged. While it often goes unnoticed consciously, the soundscape of a casino game is one of its most carefully designed features, working quietly in the background to enhance the excitement.

Why Sound Is More Powerful Than We Think

When you walk into a land-based casino, the first thing that strikes you isn’t only the flashing lights—it’s the sound. The clinking of coins, the ding of machines, and upbeat background tracks create an energy that’s hard to ignore. Online casinos replicate this atmosphere through sophisticated soundtracks.

Music and sound design go beyond entertainment. They influence human psychology in subtle but measurable ways. For instance, a lively tempo can make people act faster, while soft background tracks encourage more prolonged, steady play. A triumphant jingle after a win doesn’t just celebrate success—it makes the player feel rewarded and eager to continue. These psychological cues are deliberate design choices.

The Emotional Pull of Casino Soundtracks

Soundtracks in pokies and casino games are not random. Every audio choice has a purpose, whether to build tension before the reels stop or to create a wave of exhilaration when a bonus round begins.

  • Tempo: Fast-paced tracks increase excitement and encourage quicker spins, while slow music creates a more relaxed rhythm.
  • Emotion: Uplifting chords generate optimism, while darker tones bring suspense.
  • Reward Cues: A small win feels bigger when accompanied by bells, chimes, or celebratory notes.

These elements combine to make gameplay more engaging and emotionally satisfying.

Building a Casino’s Sonic Identity

Physical casinos rely on atmosphere—the buzz of conversation, the clatter of chips, and the constant hum of machines. Online casinos must create their own version of this environment. That’s where sound design becomes essential.

Lucky Green Casino provides an immersive experience by blending visuals with carefully tailored audio. Each game has its own soundtrack, giving players the sense that they’re stepping into a unique world. Over time, this builds recognition. Just as a logo creates a visual identity, a consistent audio style becomes a brand signature. Players may not consciously notice it, but they begin to associate certain sounds with the comfort and familiarity of the casino.

How Science Explains the Power of Music in Play

Studies in psychology and behavioural science have shown how sound affects human decision-making. Music in casinos is designed with these findings in mind:

  • Pacing: Faster tempos increase the number of actions per minute, such as spins or bets.
  • Mood Influence: Happy, upbeat tunes make people feel more optimistic, while suspenseful tracks heighten anticipation.
  • Attention: Sudden changes in pitch or volume immediately grab focus, drawing attention to bonuses, jackpots, or important game features.

Music is not an afterthought; it is part of a strategy to create rhythm and emotion that keep players engaged.

Aussie Pokies and Cultural Soundtracks

In Australia, pokies are part of everyday entertainment culture. Online pokies build on this tradition by adding layered music that resonates with local tastes. Some pokies feature adventurous, fast-paced tracks designed for thrill-seekers, while others use calming tones for players who enjoy a slower rhythm.

On Lucky Green Casino, the variety of pokies is matched by an equally wide range of soundscapes. From playful melodies to cinematic orchestrations, each game invites the player into a distinct experience. These soundtracks help bring stories to life, transforming reels into adventures, challenges, or escapes.

Storytelling Through Sound

Sound in online pokies isn’t decoration; it’s the storyteller. Like a film score, it sets mood, builds tension, and signals what’s coming next. An “adventure” slot leans on orchestral swells and thunderous drums that rise as you inch toward a feature; a “retro” title snaps to life with springy synths and arcade bleeps that flip a nostalgia switch; a nature-themed game breathes with flutes, birdsong, and soft chimes that slow your pulse between spins. The mix shifts in real time—subtle pads during base play, a quick lift in tempo as scatters land, a bright stinger when the bonus hits—so your ears catch the plot before your eyes do. Little leitmotifs tie symbols and features to memory, making each reel stop feel like a beat in a larger arc. You’re not just spinning; you’re being scored—guided through an unfolding mini-adventure, one cue at a time.

Winning Moments and Musical Reinforcement

A jackpot without music would feel flat. Casinos understand this. Victories, whether large or small, are amplified by fanfares, trumpets, or glittering sound effects. This serves as positive reinforcement, boosting the player’s sense of achievement.

Even modest wins are paired with celebratory notes, ensuring the experience remains rewarding. These sounds build anticipation for the next spin, reinforcing the desire to continue playing.

When Silence Speaks Louder

Not every moment in a game is filled with sound. Well-placed silence is also a design choice. The pause before reels stop spinning creates tension, making the outcome more exciting. The absence of sound can heighten focus and anticipation, ensuring that when the soundtrack resumes, the effect is stronger.

This technique mirrors dramatic pauses in music and theatre, showing how subtle silence can be as powerful as sound.

Practical Tips for Players

Music isn’t only for casinos’ benefit—it can also be used by players to enhance their own experience.

  • Choose games by mood: High-energy soundtracks are perfect for lively sessions, while calm, ambient music suits relaxed play.
  • Use audio cues: Pay attention to musical shifts—they often signal special features, bonus rounds, or jackpots.
  • Customise your environment: Some players prefer to mute casino tracks and play their own playlists. Others embrace the in-game audio to stay immersed.

Finding the right balance ensures gameplay feels enjoyable and personal.

The Future of Casino Sound

As technology develops, sound in online casinos will become more advanced and adaptive. Imagine games where the soundtrack changes based on how you play: slower when you take a break, more intense during streaks, and celebratory when you win.

There’s also the potential for 3D sound effects, making it feel like reels and effects are surrounding you. Customisation could become standard, with players choosing their favourite genres or moods for a tailored experience.

These innovations promise even greater immersion, blurring the line between gaming and entertainment.

Comparing Elements of Casino Sound

To illustrate how sound shapes different aspects of play, here’s a simple comparison:

Sound Element Effect on Player Example in Gameplay
Fast-paced background Increases excitement, faster spins Dance-style track during bonus rounds
Slow, calming soundtrack Encourages longer, steady play Soft lounge music in classic pokies
Rising pitch effect Builds anticipation Reel spin slowing before final result
Triumphant celebration Enhances reward and satisfaction Fanfare after winning combination
Silence or pause Creates suspense and contrast Reels stopping suddenly before bonus trigger

This table highlights how deliberate sound design supports mood, timing, and emotional impact.

Beyond Entertainment: Why Music Keeps Us Coming Back

What makes players return to online pokies isn’t only the visuals or mechanics. It’s the complete sensory package—sound included. Music adds warmth and atmosphere, creating familiarity and rhythm that draws players back.

For many, the soundtrack of their favourite pokies becomes inseparable from the memory of playing. Just like a song can transport us back to a certain time in life, casino music anchors us to the excitement of past wins and good sessions.

Looking Ahead

The marriage of music and online casinos is only becoming stronger. As platforms like Lucky Green continue to evolve, sound design will remain central to the player experience. From subtle effects that guide behaviour to grand soundscapes that tell stories, music is one of the most influential tools in casino entertainment.

Next time you log in to spin the reels on Aussie pokies on LuckyGreen, take a moment to notice the soundtrack. The beats, pauses, and melodies are more than background—they’re the heartbeat of the game, shaping the atmosphere and keeping the experience unforgettable.

This is the third stroke that Lawler suffered over the past several years, with the first one in 2018 and that was followed by a big one in 2023 which has affected his speech and writing.

Lawler was supposed to be in Cincinnati for the HorrorHound 2025 convention but had to cancel his appearance due to his health.

Skye Blue staples Toni Storm’s ass, boobs, and crotch in match on Dynamite!

AEW Women’s champion Toni Storm and Skye Blue had a weapons-filled match on Dynamite last night which included a lot of staples to private parts!

The champion was on the receiving end of some wicked staple shots as Blue first stapled both her ass cheeks and then stapled each of her tits as Storm was cornered. But it was the final staple, right on her crotch, which drew the biggest gasp from the crowd.

Storm did get some revenge, as the champ stapled Blue’s crotch as well.

The commentary team was somewhat amused, with Taz seeing the funny side of it while Danielson was, well, not as impressed.

In the end, it was the champion, staples and all, who reigned supreme, hitting the Sweet Cheek Music and Storm Zero on a chair for the victory.

MVP talks leaving WWE, joining AEW, The Hurt Syndicate, and more in new interview

MVP sat down with Chris Van Vliet in Las Vegas, Nevada to discuss leaving WWE in 2024 and signing with AEW, reuniting The Hurt Syndicate, how close he came to becoming World Champion, his signature entrance tunnel, his emotional reaction to Kofi Kingston winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35, and more!

On his WWE return in 2020:

“I got to be one of the surprise entrants in the 2020 Royal Rumble. And my son was in the crowd. It’s so cool, because he even made it into one of the highlight commercials where you just see him going, ‘Yeah!’ That gave me something emotionally, because I never wanted to be a dad. I wanted to be single forever, my son was an oops, and now I’m so grateful for him in my life, because he makes me a better human being, and to be able to share that with him. And Rey Mysterio was his favorite wrestler, so after that, we went into the back and Rey being the just incredible human being that he is, took some time to pull my son to the side and gave him a mask, and he spoke for a minute. After that, Paul Heyman asked me if I could make it to San Antonio the next day. And I was like, Yeah, sure. Easy pay, quick drive. I went and again, Paul E booked me to be in a match with Rey Mysterio on Raw, just a cool match. I wasn’t even under contract, but my son’s mother sent me a video of my son standing underneath the television during my entrance, so my son got to watch daddy wrestle his favorite wrestler. And again, that’s all I wanted. That was it. And then after my match, Laurinaitis just pulled me to the side and said, ‘Hey, we want to offer you a position as a producer.’ And at that point, I was contemplating retirement anyway, I just felt like getting pretty close to the end here, and we talked about it and what the ins and outs would be. And I said, let’s give it a shot. Let’s see what happens. And I enjoyed it. It was pretty cool, the creative process and learning about how that machine works.”

On how close he came to becoming World Champion in WWE:

“I don’t know this for an absolute fact, because I wasn’t in on the meeting, but I was told by some people that were. As a matter of fact, one of the writers, [said] there was talk about MVP being World Heavyweight Champion, but there was reservations because of my felony conviction. So for those of your viewers who don’t know, when I was a teenager, I was coming up in Miami, rough gang violence. I was an armed robber, I did a robbery, and I ended up going to prison for several years. Nine and a half years. I served from 16 to 26. [Originally sentenced to] 18 and a half with a mandatory three for the sawed off shotgun, meaning for three years you can’t get time off for good behavior. And consequently, it was as a result of that, when I was at work release, getting out of prison, I met a correctional officer [called] Primetime Daryl D. He was an indie worker, and that’s how I got into the business. Because he would bring in videotapes for us to watch in the morning before they would open up the center to let us go to work. So guys couldn’t leave till 7, so it’d be like, 10 15 minutes, people just kind of milling around. And he’d bring in tapes. And I would be like, Hey, man, how do you guys do that without really killing each other? And he’s like, ‘Well, I see you out there playing basketball, working out. You got a good physique. You’re athletic. When you get out, if you want to give it a try, I’ll show you something.’ So that’s how I broke into wrestling. But going back to my conviction, it was at work release that I met the correctional officer who introduced me to my career. But now I’m a convicted felon.”

So they didn’t want to make you the World Heavyweight Champion?

“Because there were potentially countries that I couldn’t get into. So how can you be the World Heavyweight Champion, but you can’t go to this country? Like going to Japan. Japan is very strict about people who [can enter], like James Brown, they wouldn’t let into Japan. But because I went over for a Japanese company, they were able to smooth it over with the visa process. Canada. I couldn’t get into Canada for a long time. I had to go through a process there where people had to write letters of recommendation. It costs 1000s of dollars in legal fees to get something in Canada. They call it a letter of rehabilitation. They said, Okay, you’re rehabilitated. You can come to Canada. You always have to bring this letter with you, because if they ask, ‘Have you been convicted of a felony?’ And I say ‘Yes, but here’s my letter of rehabilitation.’ Then I can get in. Australia, the last time I went to Australia was with Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore. It literally took an act of Congress, and at the 12th hour, some Parliament official, nobody wanted to sign off on my document to let me in. And somebody knew somebody, and some member of parliament or whatever, signed off on it, and I was able to get in Australia. Now England, the United Kingdom, just started the electronic transfer authorization, and they ask the question, ‘Have you been convicted of a felony that required you to have a 12-month stay or longer in a correction?’ Well, yeah, I did nine and a half years. So I answered truthfully, and that’s why I wasn’t allowed in for Forbidden Door. So coming full circle, as it was told to me, there was a conversation about me being a World Champion. But there were reservations because of my convicted felony.”

On leaving WWE for AEW:

“Everybody knows that The Hurt Business got shut down in WWE for reasons that have never been made clear to me. No one has ever said, and I begged Vince, Bobby begged Vince, please don’t do this. Vince had his ideas of what he wanted to do, and everybody genuinely agrees that we got shut down way too soon. So when it came time for our contracts, I made it very clear that I don’t want to be there anymore. There are people there in management that I dislike immensely, a person, and I won’t even bother to get into that. But I just knew that with certain people in charge, and that’s how the wrestling game is, that’s how life is. I don’t care where you work. When management changes, some people are out, other people are in, and I knew it was time to go. I wasn’t gonna re-sign. I was in Bobby’s ear constantly like ‘Don’t re-sign. Shelton got released. Don’t re-sign. Let’s you me and Sheldon get back together. Let’s go to AEW. I know we can go to AEW and we can pick this thing back up.’ I’m grateful to Tony Khan for seeing the value in us and giving us an opportunity to come over there and continue to tell our story and help some of these younger talents. Because contrary to what the internet tells you, there are a lot of young guys that come up and ask us for advice and ask us to watch their matches and ask us for insight, and I love being able to pay it forward because people gave it to me. So thank you to Tony Khan for seeing something in us and believing in us and giving us an opportunity to end The Hurt Syndicate in AEW, and for us to finish telling our story.”

TKO wants Wrestlepalooza an annual event on the same level as top five PLEs

Wrestlepalooza

TKO Chief Operating Officer Mark Shapiro said during the Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference Wednesday that they’re hoping to have Wrestlepalooza an annual event on the same level as WrestleMania and SummerSlam.

Shapiro said that Paul “Triple H” Levesque is working tirelessly creatively to deliver on this show and hopes that Wrestlepalooza “is a winner” and could be a “marketing bonanza if we do it right.”

Wrestlepalooza will be kicking off the ESPN deal with WWE, becoming the first premium live event on the streaming service as part of a new, $1.6 billion contract.

The show is taking place from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 20. Over 10,000 tickets have already been distributed.

MJF cast in the upcoming Violent Night 2 movie

MJF is heading back to Hollywood for another role after he was cast in the Violent Night 2 movie according to Deadline.

The movie is set for a December 4, 2026 release and plot details as well as MJF’s role have not been published.

Andrew Bachelor, David Harbour, Kristen Bell, Daniela Melchior, Jared Harris and Joe Pantoliano are also part of the cast in Violent Night 2. It will be directed by Tommy Wirkola.

MJF was recently part of Happy Gilmore 2 playing Adam Sandler’s son.

TKO COO Mark Shapiro says there’s still room for price increase for WWE shows

TKO

TKO Chief Operating Officer Mark Shapiro said that there’s still room for a ticket price increase for WWE shows to bring them up to par with the UFC.

Shapiro was speaking at the annual Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference yesterday when he made the comment.

“We know we have a lot of room there because Vince McMahon was primarily pricing tickets for families and wasn’t totally focused on maxing the opportunity there,” Shapiro said of the previous WWE ticket prices under McMahon’s helm.

“Now that we’ve seen what we can do with UFC, we’re replicating that in terms of ticket yield and holding back and advance sales when it comes to OnLocation on the WWE side and it’s working out really well,” he continued.

The comment will certainly not go down well with WWE fans who already pay extremely high ticket prices, especially if they’re taking the family with them.

Ticket prices under TKO have skyrocketed but WWE keeps selling out arenas, showing the demand is still there despite the increase.

Daniel Garcia joins The Death Riders

Daniel Garcia has joined The Death Riders.

The main event of Dynamite saw Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta joining with The Young Bucks to take on AEW Tag Team champions Brodido and AEW Trios champions The Opps in a 10-man tag team match.

Following their victory, the heels continued their attack, with Darby Allin coming in to save The Opps from The Death Riders. But that run-in was cut short as a hooded individual entered the ring and attacked Allin.

He eventually took off the hoodie to reveal himself as Daniel Garcia. Garcia then wiped out Allin following a curb stomp on a chair.

In a video posted on the AEW social media accounts after Dynamite went off the air saw The Death Riders walking out, with Garcia shoving away the camera.

“Things can move really fast when you make decisions…decisions,” Moxley then said as he looked directly into the camera.

AEW Unified title

The AEW Unified title will be defended in a three-way match at the upcoming All Out pay-per-view.

The other qualifying match, Mascara Dorada vs The Beast Mortos, will take place on Dynamite next week.

The winners of these three matches will then wrestle for the Unified title at All Out.

Saudi’s Turki Alalshikh says WrestleMania 43 is coming to Saudi Arabia

In a news that might surprise some but was largely expected, Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh let the cat out of the bag early and announced that WrestleMania 43 is going to take place in Saudi Arabia in 2027.

This will be the first WrestleMania outside North America in history and is a major blow to London for missing out on bringing the show to Wembley Stadium.

The Saudis are reportedly paying a sum in the region of $100 million as a site fee which would trump any other site fee in WWE history by no comparison.

An official announcement, including Raw, Smackdown, and other weekend events coming to Saudi, is expected very soon.

No exact location of where the show will be was announced but that is expected to be revealed with the official WWE announcement.

Bryan Danielson starts AEW commentary role with tonight’s Dynamite

Dynamite logo

AEW will have its second to last show at the 2300 Arena tonight as the residency in Philly is coming to an end. Four matches are announced so far for tonight’s Dynamite, airing live on TBS at 8PM ET and streaming as well on HBO Max.

Matches include AEW World champion “Hangman” Adam Page vs Josh Alexander, AEW Women’s World champion Toni Storm vs Skye Blue in a Philly street fight, AEW TBS champion Mercedes Mone and Emi Sakura vs Riho and Alex Windsor, and Ricochet vs Shelton Benjamin.

Plus, the AEW commentary team will welcome its newest addition: the one and only, “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson!

Bryan Danielson on WWE counter-programming: “We’re not at the point of being a threat. It’s just weird!”

Bryan Danielson remains perplexed why WWE keeps counter-programming AEW when they don’t really have to.

Speaking to The Kairouz Bros YouTube channel while doing promotion for AEW in Australia, the former AEW champion questioned the people making these decisions and what they’re thinking.

“In the sense of like, ‘Oh…okay! This AEW thing, it’s a real danger to our billion-dollar business!’ That can’t be it,” Danielson said.

He noted how AEW existing and being successful has changed the landscape of pro wrestling and for wrestlers themselves.

“Wrestlers are being paid more now than ever. From a sports rights perspective, for example, most major sports in the United States, the players get anywhere between 40% to 50% of the revenue and WWE was paying their wrestlers nowhere close to that,” Danielson said.

He said that while they still don’t do that despite their billions in TV rights, they have to pay more because otherwise they can jump ship to AEW.

Danielson revealed that AEW pays that 40% to 50% of their revenue to wrestlers despite making much less money but admitted that they’re still the challengers and catching up because WWE has been around for so long.

“We’re not at the point of being a threat,” Danielson said. “It’s just weird. This is one of the things that people who really crave power and a lot of money play these weird games that I don’t understand!”

Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley #1 contenders for WWE Women’s Tag Team titles

Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley of The Culling became the new number one contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles after last night they defeated Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx of Fatal Influence and Sol Ruca and Zaria in a three-way elimination match.

The team of NXT Women’s North American champion Ruca and Zaria were the first ones to be eliminated following some miscommunication between the two which resulted in Ruca catching Zaria with her ever-impressive Sol Snatcher finisher, with Nyx pinning her.

Nyx and Henley then continued a regular tag match against Paxley and Dame, with Dame finishing off Henley to get the pinfall victory.

The two will now face Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for the titles, although no date has been announced for this yet.
