TKO Chief Operating Officer Mark Shapiro said that there’s still room for a ticket price increase for WWE shows to bring them up to par with the UFC.
Shapiro was speaking at the annual Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference yesterday when he made the comment.
“We know we have a lot of room there because Vince McMahon was primarily pricing tickets for families and wasn’t totally focused on maxing the opportunity there,” Shapiro said of the previous WWE ticket prices under McMahon’s helm.
“Now that we’ve seen what we can do with UFC, we’re replicating that in terms of ticket yield and holding back and advance sales when it comes to OnLocation on the WWE side and it’s working out really well,” he continued.
The comment will certainly not go down well with WWE fans who already pay extremely high ticket prices, especially if they’re taking the family with them.
Ticket prices under TKO have skyrocketed but WWE keeps selling out arenas, showing the demand is still there despite the increase.
