Dwayne Johnson’s Smashing Machine movie set for October 2025 release

Movie production company A24 announced that the film Smashing Machine, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, will be released in theaters nationwide on Friday, October 3.

In Smashing Machine, The Rock portrays two-time UFC Heavyweight champion Mark Kerr and it’s based on the 2002 HBO documentary carrying the same name.

Joining him in this movie are Emily Blunt, Lyndsey Gavin, Oleksandr Usyk, Bas Rutten, Ryan Bader, Satoshi Ishii, Yoko Hamamura, Paul Cheng, Cyborg Abreu, and Zoe Kosovic.

The movie finished filming in Vancouver in July 2024 with additional principal photography also taking place in Los Angeles, New Mexico, and Tokyo.

It’s written, directed, co-produced, and co-edited by Benny Safdie.
