Monday Night Raw TV report for 05/16/2022

Raw opens with highlights of the Omos and Bobby Lashley feud as they advertise their steel cage match for tonight.

Omos VS. Bobby Lashley in a Steel Cage match

Omos comes out first and MVP cuts a promo about how dominating Omos is about to be in the steel cage. As Lashley made his way to the ring, Cedric Alexander attacks him and is soon joined by Omos. Lots of referees and officials come out to break up the fight and Lashley walks into the ring and yells at Omos to get in the cage.

Interference by MVP early on as Lashley was at one point able to grab his arm and pull him hard into the cage. Lashley hits a spear on Omos but only got a 2 count.

Lashley goes for a hurt lock, but Omos falls back into the corner, but Lashley moves before Omos could crush him into the corner. Lashley crawls up to the top rope, but Omos catches him with a choke. Lashley pulls his arm and kicks to the head knocks the giant back to the mat. Cedric Alexander then comes back out and runs up the side of the cage only to be pulled in and slammed off the top by Lashley.

Lashley then dives at Omos only to be caught in the air and thrown into the cage. Omos throws Lashley against the cage again, this time the cage gives way and Lashley comes to and realizes and rolls off the cage so both feet hit the floor.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

Mustafa Ali VS. Theory with the Miz as special referee

Theory says Ali does not deserve a match with a champion and told Ali he is going to teach him the first thing Mr. McMahon taught him: expect the unexpected and he found an opponent for him tonight to prove he is championship material.

Mustafa Ali VS. Veer Mahaan with The Miz as the special referee

Ali gets enough offense to knock Mahaan out of the ring and goes for a dive and the Miz gets in his way to start the 10 count. Ali starts to argue with the Miz. The Miz then pushes Ali in the head away from him and as Ali turns around, he is hit with a hard clothesline from Mahaan. Mahaan then grabs the cervical clutch for the win.

Winner: Veer Mahaan

After the match Theory comes in and Mahaan locks Ali in the cervical clutch as Theory takes a selfie with all of them and The Miz. Mahaan was starting to clear off the announce table but out come the Mysterios.

In the back, Becky Lynch runs into Adam Pearce who was on the phone, and she begins to talk to him as we cut to break.

Back from break, Pearce tells Lynch she has a match tonight with Asuka and the winner gets a match with Bianca Belair.

We are also told that Naomi and Sasha Banks had left the arena.

Riddle VS. Jimmy Uso

Back and forth match Jimmy goes up to the top for a splash but is caught by Riddle who is attempting an RKO off the top rope, but Uso fights free and knocks Riddle down and hits the splash, but Riddle gets his knees up. Jimmy rolls Riddle up and Jey puts the boots into Jimmy to attempt to hold Riddle down, but the referee catches him and throws Jey out, before Jey even left ringside, Riddle rolls up Jimmy for the pin.

They show footage from earlier with A.J. Styles and Finn Balor asking Liv Morgan to join up with them and Liv says “I don’t know, I will think about it.”

Winner: Riddle

Judgment Day are shown. Edge says their mission statement is Judgment Day equals power and his arms are wide open for any superstar that wants to take their career to the next level. He then spoke to AJ Styles and telling AJ he wants him to join their movement.

Liv Morgan comes out and stops and Finn Balor’s music comes on and out comes Finn who stands beside her. AJ Styles comes out too and all 3 then head to the ring.

Finn Balor & AJ Styles VS. Los Lotharios

End came when AJ takes out Angel with a phenomenal forearm and Finn hits the Coup de Grace on Humberto for the win.

Winners: Finn Balor & AJ Styles

Kevin Owens is shown in the back slapping his hands together rapidly while wearing a Sami Zayn Forever shirt, when Alpha Academy walk up, and Owens asked if these are the results? Gable said he had a friend analyze the cup they got off Ezekiel with a hair off of Elias’ guitar and ran a DNA test.

Owens read the report says the results were tampered with because it was mixed with BBQ sauce. They blame Otis for eating ribs last week.

Alexa Bliss VS. Sonya Deville

Deville attempts to take a top turnbuckle off, but the referee catches her and starts to retie the pad, Deville then hits a spinebuster on Bliss, but the referee is still fixing the pad, Bliss then hits a DDT on Deville for the win.

Out next the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes. Cody says he tried to move forward from Seth Rollins, but Rollins poured gas on the fire with slamming Cody’s head on the announce desk. And wants to know what Seth says Cody took from him.

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Cody says he learned from loss and learned how to reinvent himself and realized he will never be the American Dream so why not embrace the Nightmare. Cody then challenges Rollins for a third time but this time inside Hell in a Cell. Rollins’ laugh then fills the arena and Rollins is shown on the screen. Rollins says he is going to expose Cody for the fraud that he is, and he accepts his challenge and Cody says well I guess there is only one thing left to say: I will see you in Hell.

Asuka is interviewed backstage about her match with Becky Lynch with the winner facing Bianca Belair. Asuka says she will give Lynch a reason to cry because Asuka is ready for the Raw women’s champion and Lynch is not ready for Asuka.

Cory Graves then previews the match and again tells us that Naomi and Sasha Banks unprofessionally left the building causing the change to the main event.

Alpha Academy and Kevin Owens make their way to the ring. Owens joins the announce table.

Chad Gable VS. Ezekiel

Ezekiel gets the upper hand and goes out of the ring to be leveled by Otis, Gable jumps off the top rope only to get a knee to the face by Ezekiel, but only a 2 count. Gable then gets a 2 count, Ezekiel goes after Gable, Otis gets on the apron but Ezekiel kicked Otis with a knee, Gable rolls up Ezekiel but Ezekiel turns over and pins Gable.

Winner: Ezekiel

R-Truth and Tamina in the back and Tamina is mad because Tozawa still have not gotten the divorce papers, they find Tozawa hiding in a trash bin. Dana Brooke then walked up thanking Truth for giving Reggie his papers last week. Truth then says its time to talk about compensation, he wants his 24/7 championship back. Dana says no and pushes Truth and runs away, Dana runs into Carmella as those two exchange words Truth comes running and Dana runs away. Truth asks Carmella for help to get his 24/7 championship back. Carmella grabs Truth and says she will help him get the championship back when the time is right, but she wants Dana.

Lacey Evans is introduced and comes to the ring and thanks all the service members and talks ending with she might not be better than any of the other superstars but no is better than her.

Bianca Belair comes out to sit at the announce desk for the next match

Becky Lynch VS. Asuka to determine who gets the Raw Women’s championship match

Asuka had the Asuka lock, Lynch rolls out, Asuka with the arm lock, Lynch gets to the ropes. The action spills out of the ring. Lynch trying to get Belair to hit her to cause a disqualification but Belair stays calm. Asuka then gets thrown into Belair, then Lynch throws Asuka back in the ring and kicks Belair, Belair chases Lynch to the ring and as the referee stops Belair from entering the ring. Lynch gets the umbrella of Asuka and goes to hit Asuka but Asuka blows green mist into the eyes of Lynch and hits Lynch with a roundhouse kick to the head, Asuka pins Lynch. Referee turns and makes the count.

Winner: Asuka
