Monday Night Raw TV report for 05/20/2024

Sami Zayn is out in the ring to open this week’s Monday Night Raw!

Sami says he will walk out of King and Queen of the ring still the Intercontinental Champion.

Chad Gable came out. Gable said he has been too nice to Sami in coaching him to face Gunther then said he has been way too nice to the three clowns behind him. Then called Maxxine a failure and then Tozawa a failure. Then he went to Otis and told him he is the biggest disappointment on the planet.

Sami interrupts him and says that’s enough. Sami then asked the Alpha Academy how much longer they are going to deal with this guy’s crap.

Gable tells Sami he will take the Intercontinental title in Saudi Arabia and take Sami’s soul as well. Sami said that’s in five days I am here ready to go. It looks like you are dressed and ready to go so let’s go.

Sami Zayn VS. Chad Gable

Since Maxxine and Tozawa refused to hit Sami at Gable’s request, he called them failures and told them to get to the back.

Gable then rolls out after kicking out of the Blue Thunder Bomb and falls at Otis’ feet.

Gable throws Sami out to Otis but Otis did not want to hit Sami and Gable slaps Otis in the face. When Sami was set up for a Helluva Kick, Otis clotheslines Sami allowing Gable to hit Chaos Theory and pin Sami.

Winner: Chad Gable

A video package of Iyo Sky was shown.

Jackie Redmond interviewed Chad Gable and the Alpha Academy, before they could talk people come running by and its L.W.O. and looks like Cruz Del Toro has been attacked. Adam Pearce chases off the camera.

Bron Breakker VS. Kale Dixon

Bron destroys Dixon and throws him out of the ring and spears him and the referee stopped the match.

Winner by referee stoppage: Bron Breakker

After the match, Breakker kept the beating up and grabbed a chair and officials tried to stop him and help Dixon up but Dixon was resting on the separated ring steps and Bron hit him with the chair as EMTs run down with the stretcher to get Dixon.

They showed Dixon being loaded in the ambulance and Adam Pearce yelled at Bron and asked him what that was and Bron said you can’t control me, and you didn’t put me in King of the Ring so that is on you and walked away.

Lyra Valkyria was getting ready for her match when Becky Lynch walked up to her and told her she got this to go get it.

Lyra Valkyria VS. Iyo Sky in a Queen of the Ring tournament semi final match

Sky missed the moonsault, Valkyria went for a move with Sky on her shoulders, but Sky wiggled free and tried to pull Valkyria down, but Valkyria just knelled down and hooked Sky’s legs and got the win.

Winner: Lyra Valkyria

Jackie Redmond came in the ring to interview Lyra after the match, Iyo grabbed the microphone and yelled something and left the ring. Lyra said three weeks ago she could never imagined standing here after beating a former WWE Women’s champion and she is now one win away from becoming Queen of the Ring.

In the back, R-Truth was talking to New Catch Republic and The Miz said they may be in trouble tonight with the numbers and Truth says he took care of it and he talked to his good buddy Andre the Giant and he is going to have their back tonight. The Miz said Truth I don’t know how to tell you this but Andre passed away like 30 years ago. Truth said passed away what? Just trust me and walked away. Miz looked up and said Andre we could really use your spirit tonight and Truth comes back in and says who you talking to. Miz says no one I am going to go get ready and Truth say and they say I am the crazy on and waves and says Hi while looking up.

Kayla Braxton interviewed Ilja Dragunov, and he said he is frustrated, Ricochet comes in and says this isn’t over and just then Bron Breakker spears Ricochet.

Gunther talked about his match with Main Event Jey Uso tonight.

The Judgment Day are getting ready for their match tonight. Carlito is in there and Priest told him he heard what he did to Cruz, and he is going to be out for a while. As Finn goes to leave, he tells Priest he wishes it was him going out there with him tonight.

Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark ran into Sonya Deville in the back and Deville said there is something she wanted to talk to them about and Shayna said whatever she is selling they are not buying and walked away.

Awesome Truth VS. Finn Balor & JD McDonagh for the WWE World Tag Team championship

Carlito comes out and puts McDonagh’s leg on the ropes and Braun Strowman comes out and sends Carlito into the crowd. Braun chases JD back in the ring right into a waiting R-Truth who hit the attitude adjustment to keep their tag titles.

Becky Lynch congratulated Lyra for winning tonight and Lyra then walks into Liv Morgan who congratulated her as well but said she was surprised she didn’t have Becky help her and then Liv slapped Lyra in the face and walked away.

Bronson Reed comes in to tell Sami he won’t have to worry about Chad Gable, and he leaves. Sami turned around and Otis was there, and Sami gave Otis a lecture and Otis told Sami he was sorry. Sami told him to stop listening to Gable and start listening to the fans.

Becky Lynch is out to the ring next. She started talking about Liv Morgan and Liv interrupts her and says she left last week when Damage Control attacked her because it was not any of her business.

After they exchanged words, Becky challenged her to get in the ring. Liv said she isn’t stupid she will wait for her title match.

Priest told Finn, JD, Carlito and Dominik and get back on track.

Xavier Woods was released by the trainer and Kofi was so excited he said he is going to talk to Pearce right now we are back in the tag division baby. Karrion Kross comes in and tells Woods it’s good that he is cleared and it’s never too late to turn things around.

Dakota Kai & Kairi Sane VS. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark VS. Maxxine Dupri & Ivy Nile VS. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter with winner getting a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

Baszler hit Dupri with a knee and Stark pinned her.

Winners: Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark

Kayla Braxton interviewed Ludwig Kaiser about Gunther’s match tonight and Kaiser said Sheamus is not the fighter he used to be, and he will put Sheamus down.

As Kaiser walked away, Drew McIntyre walked in and said he doesn’t know what he is doing here, and Adam Pearce didn’t use one of his top superstars this week, so he is taking his time. Drew also warns Priest during the interview.

Chad Gable talking to the Creed Brothers and Otis wants to talk to him. Gable asked where he was, and Otis said he went to apologize to Sami.

Jey Uso talked about his match against Gunther tonight.

Main Event Jey Uso VS. Gunther in a King of the Ring tournament semi final match

Uso hurt his right arm early in the match and Gunther kept the attack on it. Uso was able to hit the spear and the splash, but the referee was down and hesitated to start the count and only got the 2 count.

Gunther locked Uso’s arm and wrapped his legs around Uso and Gunther chokes out Uso for the win.

Winner: Gunther
