In an exclusive story by Variety, WWE Superstar John Cena will be making his return on the final Smackdown of the year.

The show will take place on December 30 from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida and more announcements are planned in the coming weeks.

Cena has appeared only once this year on WWE television, coming back to celebrate his 20th year anniversary on an episode of Monday Night Raw. Cena did not wrestle on that night in June but did an in-ring promo to thank his fans.

The Amalie Arena website now lists John Cena, Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt, and Ronda Rousey all appearing.
