Over 124,000 WrestleMania 39 tickets distributed so far

With one week to go, WrestleMania at SoFi Stadium is continuing to sell thousands of tickets and the show has now surpassed a combined 124,000 tickets sold with this week seeing a nice jump in sales.

WrestleMania 39 night one is currently at 62,351 tickets while night two is at 62,961 tickets distributed. SoFi Stadium is right now set up for 64,213 seats so both nights are shy of 2,000 tickets away of a sellout. The latest numbers were reported by @WrestleTix ticket tracking service.

It is believed that WWE will eventually expand SoFi Stadium for over 70,000 seats each night and if they keep on selling tickets at this rate, that’s a very easily achievable goal.

Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.

AEW President Tony Khan revealed in a tweet that Omega will put up his gold on the line against NJPW’s Jeff Cobb in St. Louis, in what will be Omega’s first defense since capturing the title.

Omega won the IWGP United States title at the Wrestle Kingdom 17 pay-per-view in January, defeating Will Ospreay.

Boosted by a huge lead-in, that’s the best demo in ages.

It’s Friday Night, and you know what that means…  I’ve screwed up!

Because this week it’s a Saturday Rampage.

Powerhouse Hobbs vs Penta El Zero M, TNT Title

Backstory: We were told Penta answered the open challenge after Hobbs beat his brother last week

JR wildly overhyped the show as we went straight to the ring.

No time for entrances of two ostensible top acts.  Though they did find time to display the real stars via a shot of QT Marshall with the TNT title over his shoulder, even going so far as to name Harley Cameron (the Australian blonde).

‘Zero Miedo’ chants as they got straight to sluggin’ – Hobbs throwing rights, Penta returning fire with stiff open-hands before going after the vertical base of the big man with hard kicks.  A thrust kick and dropkick sent the champ outside, Penta took flight but was caught mid-tope with a stiff elbow strike and beaten round ringside.

Returning to the ring, Hobbs snatched Penta up out of the corner into a backbreaker.

We already had about as much footage of Harley filming as we did of this title defence.  Supplemented by highlighting Marshall once more as the announcers talked about him before he tied Penta’s mask to the bottom rope.

Abrahantes quickly untied it.

A delayed vertical suplex bagged two.

Break.

A boot to the mush and slingblade brought Penta back into it, a backstabber out of the corner bagging two.  Before he began targeting the arm.  Hobbs shook it off with a headbutt and an off-the-shoulder powerslam for two of his own.

Looking for Town Bidness, Penta slipped out, enziguri, thrust kick, another, Hobbs again knocked outside as Penta took flight in pursuit.  A reckless Hobbs then collided with the ringsteps and was belted with a diving footstomp off the top to the apron.  Another followed inside for another two.

(Seemed like this was heavily edited here; Hobbs kept simply appearing in different places.)

Readying Fear Factor, Marshall hopped onto the apron clutching a consignment of weapons, Abrahantes snatched the chair away, Solo came off the top to eat Fear Factor, allowing Hobbs to drill Penta with the belt then Town Bidness.

Whatever.

About to beat on Alex again, Rey Fenix chased-off the heels with a hammer.

Is the priority here for QTV to get Hobbs over?  Or vice-versa?  Because the champ’s already taken a backseat to the rest of his crew.

As for the Lucha Bro’s being fodder for the champ… both are capable of being genuine main eventers and as over as anyone on the roster.

Horrible creative.

WINNER: Powerhouse Hobbs

A re-cap of the Elite storyline from Wednesday, including the stellar main event between Omega and Vikingo.  This coming Wednesday, a beaten and battered Omega will face Jeff Cobb as they showed the war of words between the two since January (including New Japan footage).

…..

Ricky Starks out to call-out Juice Robinson as promised.  Juice played it up like they were about to fight, started to walk away, Starks flung him into the ring, Robinson bailed through the crowd.

He said they’d only fight when the lights were bright, in New York City (that’s April 5th).  Robinson referred to himself as ‘Bullet Club’s Juice Robinson’.  Totaled up, that’s sure to start rumors of Jay White debuting.

The match was later confirmed.

…..

Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal & etc.  They stole a trick from the NBA and accused AEW officials of conspiring against them.  Vowing to eventually win gold.  (Jeff’s probably got some for sale if they’re that bothered.)

Dutt’s overacting was impressive even for him.

Brody King vs Jake Hager

Backstory: King was screwed out of a victory against the JAS last week

As good as King is, it’d be nice to see Malakai & Murphy in singles action sometime.

A trio of fans were rocking matching purple hats in solidarity with Hager.

Charging one-another right out the gate, neither gained much until a double-hand chop from King knocked Hager both down and out(side).

King appealed to the crowd after flinging Hager into the barricade; Hager returned the favor.

Break time.

A Bossman slam bought two as we returned.  Hager slipped into the ankle lock but couldn’t keep the hold, King dumping the Oklahoman in the corner but missing with a cannonball, getting his feet up to block the Hager Bomb, discus lariat, count of two.

Right as the returning Anna Jay slammed Julia into the ringpost.

Allowing a devastating Distraction Roll-up which King somehow kicked out of.  Brody then easily snatched up Hager into All Seeing Eye (something like a Michonoku Driver out of a DVD) for the win.

Brody checked on Julia and helped her to her feet.

AEW seem to be getting behind King.  But the House still don’t seem a priority unless they’re in the ring with Jericho or the Elite.

WINNER: Brody King

Swerve said he’s sick and tired of Keith Lee.  He’s found someone as twisted as himself, revealing Tech N9ne.  He’s going to finish this and win the war, ‘hoodies… up’.

Not much different to what was said during his last appearance.

Taya Valkyrie vs Leila Grey

Backstory: Jade’s had Mark Sterling ban Taya’s version of Jaded, Grey offered to serve the papers ‘personally’

Either this crowd were really happy to see Grey, Jade and Sterling or they were pumping in crowd noise.

Leila talked smack and got smacked, via lariat.  But it’d been at least a match since someone got on the apron; Sterling felt he’d better fill the void, allowing Grey to attack from behind.

Valkyrie hit a kick to the chest, knee strike, Road to Valhalla, 1, 2, 3.

Sterling then tasted one too as Jade looked on, concerned.

Is it banned or not?

Outside of that, continue to enjoy Taya’s act.

WINNER: Taya Valkyrie

The Acclaimed vs the Kingdom

Backstory: Damned if I know

This is the second time the Kingdom or a member have main-evented Rampage.

Shouty and Switchblade got their full entrance simply to come out and commentate.  Something the TNT champ could only dream of.

Huge pop for the Acclaimed.

‘…all the fans asking who the hell is the Kingdom?  Taven sucks if I’m bein a buck, Mike Bennett is best known for bein’ a cuck’.

The first time all night the show’s had energy.

Maria immediately distracted Caster from the apron, the Kingdom ran through double-team offense, barely bagging a one-count.

A blind tag to Bowens led to a really nice double-team back-cracker as 2.0 continually talked about how great the Acclaimed’s rap was.  Menard got a text from Jericho offering to pay for them to take the Acclaimed out on the town next week.

Scissor Me Timbers followed to Bennett; Taven was dumped outside as the former champs did indeed scissor.

Break.

Taven got two on a struggling Caster, the Kingdom goaded Billy Gunn, Maria grabbed Caster’s boot, another two for Taven.  As Gunn chased Maria up the ramp and Top Flight came out to ensure she left.

‘This isn’t a good turn of events, Maria didn’t have to leave,’ said JR, playing the part of Jerry Lawler.

Gunn dropped Bennett in the aisle, literally holding his head in his arm to watch as the Taven and Bowens went at it in the ring, where Bowens came out of a leapfrog into a thrustkick, over-the-shoulder facebuster.  Gunn allowed Bennett back in, the distraction allowing a roll-up for two.

Bowens quickly fought back with stiff strikes, tag to Caster: the Arrival, Mic Drop, victory.

‘We did it!’ announced 2.0.  JR laughed.

The Acclaimed remain incredibly over.  Though that might not last if they continue to be paired with 2.0 and the Kingdom.

WINNER: The Acclaimed

…..

  • Jeff Cobb vs Kenny Omega, IWGP US Title
  • Adam Cole vs Daniel Garcia
  • Orange Cassidy vs Butcher, International Title

Ric Flair says he has reconnected with Arn Anderson following the death of his son

On the latest episode of his podcast, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair said that he recently talked to Arn Anderson following the death of his son.

The former members of the iconic Four Horsemen had a big fallout towards the end of WCW and Flair often said that Arn did not even bother to check on him when he was on his deathbed several years ago and not even when his son Reid passed away years earlier.

But after Arn lost his son Barrett, Flair reached out, saying he knows what Arn is going through as a father.

“It’s a very personal thing with Arn. I know what he’s going through. Kevin Nash knows what he’s going through. Any number of people out there,” Flair said, “All the bullshit that we go through…there are some things in wrestling that are real and hurtful and just never seem to work out right.”

The 16-time world champ said that the two have now reconnected after going their separate ways years before.

“I mean…to have that phenomenal time in the 80s and see it kind of slip away for whatever reason, quite honestly because of promoters, and then to reconnect and have a private moment and exchange texts and everything, it made me cry,” Flair continued. “I was that happy to hear back from him. Not much more I can say about that. I just hope he and I can move forward and do some stuff together.”

Flair’s daughter Charlotte recently also uploaded some photos with Barrett on her social media after he passed away.

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal returns to Smackdown on the eve of WrestleMania

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal will be returning this year but it won’t be at WrestleMania, but rather on Smackdown the night before.

The battle royal has been part of the Smackdown prior to Mania for the past few years now, with the match being relegated from the main show for WrestleMania 35, 37, and 38. WWE didn’t do the match for WrestleMania 36 due to the pandemic.

At WrestleMania 31, 33 and 34, the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal was part of the Kickoff show and only at WrestleMania XXX and 32 it took place on the actual PPV.

28 participants have been confirmed for this match including Angel Garza, Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, Bronson Reed, Butch, Cedric Alexander, Cruz Del Toro, Dexter Lumis, Dolph Ziggler, Elias, Humberto Carrillo, Joaquin Wilde, Johnny Gargano, Karl Anderson, Karrion Kross, LA Knight, Luke Gallows, Mace, Madcap Moss, Mansoor, Mustafa Ali, Rick Boogs, Ridge Holland, Santos Escobar, Shelton Benjamin, Top Dolla, and Xavier Woods.

Mickie James to miss Multiverse United show, given until Rebellion to recover

Impact Knockouts champion Mickie James will also miss the Multiverse United event next week due to her injury, an injury which was revealed to be a broken rib last night on Impact’s Sacrifice show.

James was supposed to defend the title against Jordynne Grace last night but that match did not take place after the promotion announced on Thursday night that James was out injured. She was also defending the title against Miyu Yamashita, Deonna Purrazzo and Gisele Shaw next Thursday at the Impact x NJPW: Multiverse United show but that got pulled too.

Now James has a few weeks to recover and Impact said that if she is unable to compete at the Rebellion pay-per-view on April 16, she has to surrender the title. If she is able to compete, James will defend the title against Jordynne Grace and the winner of the four-way match from Multiverse United featuring Deonna Purrazzo, Gisele Shaw, Masha Slamovich, and Miyu Yamashita in a triple threat match.

Rousey and Baszler added to the WrestleMania fatal four-way match

Ronda Rousey has not been cleared yet to compete but she will be in time for WrestleMania.

The former WWE Raw and Smackdown Women’s champion was on Smackdown last night and announced with Shayna Baszler that the two will be part of the fatal four-way tag team showcase match at Mania. Unlike the other teams, they didn’t need to qualify to enter the match.

Natalya and Shotzi have now joined Raquel Gonzalez and Liv Morgan, and Rousey and Baszler in the match after beating Xia Li and Lacey Evans last night. Another team will be added next week.

In a post on Instagram yesterday, Rousey said that she has a fractured radius in her elbow, an injury she suffered at a non-televised live event in Rockford, Illinois on February 26. The injury altered plans for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles match and those titles will not be defended on night two now.

Dried flower arranging – everything you need to know

Everybody loves a good floral arrangement, and we are all familiar with arrangements with fresh flowers brought forth by spring showers. Still, the saddest part of using fresh flowers for decoration is probably having to watch your favorite blossoms gradually wither away. Throughout the 1980s, dried flowers remained extremely popular, but fell out of fashion from the 90s onwards. But they have started to gain popularity in recent times once again. With this rising vogue of dried flower arrangements, you can make some exquisite floral decor for celebrations or for your home with them. Dried flowers require very less maintenance and can be arranged to fit your personal preferences, and they go well with the aesthetic of fall.

Dried flowers are typically dehydrated and are perfect as evening decor for fall due to their earthy tones. They are delicate, give a rustic touch and have a coarse texture, and a soft tone. When the flower is dehydrated, it removes all moisture from it and the color can fade slightly. These flowers might undergo a re-coloring and setting procedure when they are totally dried to bring back some of the initial hues.

Flowers best for dried flower arrangement

Although most flowers could be dried, some are more delicate than others. When certain types of flowers dry, they become highly sensitive and the petals can easily fall off. Because of this, drying the appropriate flowers is important. This will help you to preserve your blooms and keep them intact for several months. Some grasses and flowers that are perfect for drying include:

  • Roses
  • Hydrangeas
  • Amaranth Flowers
  • Palm Spears
  • Statice Flowers
  • Gypsophila Blooms
  • Pampas Grasses
  • Larkspur Flowers
  • Eucalyptus Leaves
  • Celosia flowers
  • Sea Holly Flowers

Drying flowers by yourself

You can easily get dried flowers by allowing them to air dry or dry naturally. For this, hang them for a couple of days in a dry area upside down and let them completely dehydrate. You can also dry flowers using a press. Some people also use heavy objects like books to press them dry. This method works best for flowers that can lie flat like California poppies, hibiscus, pansies, or cosmos. Place your flowers gently on some pages around the book’s middle, giving each one plenty of room. After that, shut it and place several larger books atop it. Over time the flowers will dry and flatten out.

Dried flowers last at least a year or even longer when stored in a dry area away from direct sunlight. This might even go up to 10 years when kept in sealed boxes or jars.

Tips to make dried flower arrangements

You can make a unique and vibrant dried floral arrangement using a few materials and some simple steps. The steps include:

Prep your flowers

Prior to beginning your flower arrangement, make sure to pick up an assortment of dried grasses and flowers. You can either buy them online or from local stores, or you can dry them yourself at home. Picking annual flowers, which sprout, grow, bloom, set seeds, and decay all in one season, like cosmos, pansies, primrose, begonia, chrysanthemum, and petunia is a good option. After you’ve assembled your supplies, apply your regular hairspray all over the dry grass plumes to help stop shedding. Using floral spray paint can also add some color to the arrangement.

Prep your vase

Pick out a vase that complements the color scheme and height of the dried flowers. If you are looking to create a fuller arrangement, ensure that the vase has a wide aperture at its top. Then, cover the top with transparent tape in a grid-like pattern. This will guarantee that every stem remains in its intended location in the vase.

Arrange your flowers

When styling the flowers, you can follow some common practices to get the best visual effect. The vase height should be around one-third of the height of your arrangement. Begin with the florals that complement the color palette you selected. You can either choose flowers with different shades of the same color or mix and match different hues. But it is crucial to start with a focus flower. Make sure to place the biggest stems along the back. Add the smaller stems in front to give it a layered look. After you are finished with your layers, make sure to add some accent grasses and smaller blooms to beautify the arrangement.

Conclusion

Dried flower bouquets and arrangements can offer a touch of elegance to your house as well as celebrations. It also vibes well with the fall aesthetic, last longer, and can be preserved as a memento or keepsake.

Rey Mysterio drops son Dominik, accepts WrestleMania match

You knew the fans were going to pop big when it eventually happened…and after months and months of teasing, Rey Mysterio has finally decked his son and accepted his challenge for WrestleMania.

On Smackdown last night, Dominik distracted his dad in his match against LA Knight, causing him to lose. But the actions afterward at ringside finally pushed Rey over the edge. Dominik was berating his mother and his sister who were sitting at front row, calling her a deadbeat mother for doing nothing about it. His sister tried to step up to him but he got in her face and called her stupid.

At one point his mother took his mic and after addressing him, he took her mic away and screamed “shut up” in her face. That was the last nail in the coffin for Dominik as Mysterio ran to ringside and punched him in the face to a massive pop from the Las Vegas crowd.

With Dominik down, Rey said that he didn’t want to hit him, but he made him do it and if he wants a fight at WrestleMania…well, he got one. That prompted another big pop from the fans and “Yes!” chants, capping off another excellent angle on the show.

Cena vs Theory U.S. title match to kickoff WrestleMania 39 night one

Last time WrestleMania was in Los Angeles, John Cena co-headlined the show against JBL for the WWE title. This time around, it will be John Cena who will open the show of shows on Saturday, April 1.

WWE announced that Austin Theory vs John Cena will be the first match of night one of WrestleMania. While in the past being the “curtain jerker” was seen as a downer, nowadays, being the first match on a show like WrestleMania is a big responsibility as you set the tone for the rest of the show and get the crowd going.

You have to go back to WrestleMania XX in New York in 2004 to find a John Cena match as the first match on the card. That night, John Cena defeated The Big Show to win, yep, you guessed it, the United States title.

Ronda Rousey says she has fractured radius in her elbow

In a post on Instagram, former champion Ronda Rousey confirmed that she has a fractured radius in her elbow, an injury which she suffered last month at a WWE non-televised live event.

“Well, after thousands of dislocations (I thought not tapping out to armbars and tearing ligaments was cool in my teens) my elbow finally fractured simply by slapping the mat in Rockford, Illinois – right before WrestleMania,” Rousey wrote on social media.

The original plan of Rousey teaming with Shayna Baszler to go for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles was altered following her injury and there were rumors that the baddest woman on the planet was still going to be part of the show in the fatal four-way showcase match.

But Rousey said that doctors have not cleared her for in-ring action yet.

“The only thing saving these chicks now are the doctors not letting me compete. Well ladies, they can’t keep me away forever, I’m not moping, vengeance is coming.”

Taya Valkyrie written off Impact television

“You’ve all had such a huge part in picking me up when I’m down, being my biggest cheerleaders and truly proving that sometimes, family is chosen. I love each and everyone of you,” she continued.

Taya thanked those at Impact for welcoming her back, helping her rediscover herself when she was truly broken and allowing her to just be her.

“Death Dollz, our bond is one that can never be broken. The last year with you two has been a highlight of my career and I owe you both the world. It’s not goodbye, it’s just see you all down the road,” she concluded.
