Dwayne Johnson reveals cancer scare in long interview with Esquire

In an interview published by Esquire, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed a recent health scare which he thought was going to be diagnosed as cancer after feeling a lump on his testicle while he was having a shower.

Johnson immediately went to a doctor and was told it could be an inflammation of a tube or cancer, and underwent an ultrasound to determine what it was.

“I didn’t even tell Lauren (his wife). I didn’t want to worry her before I knew if it was anything to even worry about,” he said.

Johnson had a full day of appearances that day and had to pretend everything was okay even though he did not know the diagnosis.

“I had to live with that for those twenty-four hours, not knowing—and I had to be on all day, joking around, making speeches,” he said.

The Rock added that everything is fine now.

“By the way: I’m fine. But I didn’t know that then, and the thing was really painful,” Johnson told Ryan D’Agostino.

McMahon, Grant, and WWE file joint motion to continue litigation in private arbitration

In an unexpected turn of events, Vince McMahon, Janel Grant, and WWE filed a joint motion to continue their litigation in private arbitration, something which McMahon and WWE have been fighting for for a long time while Grant and her legal team objected to.

The motion still needs the approval of Judge Sarah F. Russell.

“The parties are in active discussions regarding a potential agreement to arbitrate the dispute in confidential arbitration that would moot those motions. They seek this relief in good faith, to avoid unnecessarily consuming the Court’s and the parties’ resources—and so they can focus on progressing the potential arbitration agreement,” the motion read. “The Parties respectfully propose that the Court temporarily adjourn the hearing and allow them to file a Joint Status Report within 21 days.”

All parties involved were scheduled to appear in court on June 16 to argue in McMahon’s case, and against, in Grant’s case, for the case to be moved to private arbitration.

If the judge approves, the case will move behind closed doors.

Former star Heidenreich talks Michael Cole segment, Legion of Doom, WWE release, and more

Former WWE star Heidenreich sat down with Chris Van Vliet in New Orleans, Louisiana to discuss how the viral photo of him working at Walmart made this interview happen, playing professional football before signing with WWE, how poetry became part of his character, being managed by Paul Heyman, his infamous Michael Cole segment, feuding with The Undertaker, winning the Tag Team Championships with Road Warrior Animal as part of the Legion Of Doom, why he was released from WWE, being in the same NFL training camp as Goldberg, and much more!

20 years later, how do you feel about this Michael Cole segment?

“It’ll always be disturbing, there’s no doubt about it. I mean, it was brought to me, I don’t remember particulars, but I do remember thinking, man, this is really off the wall. When you’re training to do vignettes and practicing in Louisville, you don’t practice for a vignette like that.”

What was the pitch for this segment?

“Well, I mean, they said I was gonna abduct him, bring him to the back, and then put him in a room. Then I think it was like you’re gonna act like you were like watching him, and you’re going one place with it. It’s like you’re going like it, and then you say, I’m gonna give you a poem. But it sounds like I’m gonna give him something other than a poem. I don’t know if it’s innuendos and stuff when you say it, ‘I’ve been watching you, I know what you want, and I’m gonna give it to you.’ But I look back and all the things that have been said about all these years, it’s kind of made me infamous, more than famous. But it’s disturbing still, and it’s weird.”

I understand there’s some innuendo there, but it looks plain as day what that is supposed to be:

“Yeah, for sure, man. But I mean, when they bring it to you, I’m not gonna say no. Like when they said you’re gonna be with Legion of Doom, I’m like, all right. Whatever they bring to you, that’s where I was. If they told me to do a backstage thing or do this, and not killing somebody or something, where you have to go to jail, I would do it. I’m gonna do it the best I can.”

How did Michael Cole feel about that segment?

“I guess he was kind of like, this is weird, and joking around. But he wasn’t like I didn’t like it, off-put or not wanting to do it. I mean, I could tell he was down for whatever. It’s like we’re working together, right? It’s a scene, and we’re building a story. He was whimpering. I mean, even though it was disturbing and weird and bizarre, I would have never come up with that on my own. I think it helped. That thing made me more memorable. People will never forget that.”

Do you have any regrets about that segment?

“No. I think I did the best performance, I guess. I liked it the way it ended. He was about to leave, I said, ‘You’re going to thank me? It was a poem by Heidenreich.’ I thought it was cool. I ended up calling them disaster pieces after a while, because I figured they’re so bad instead of masterpieces, but yeah, I like the character Heidenreich. Always in my mind, I thought I would go back. I had an idea to come back. I didn’t even think about telling you this. I never went back, but I wanted to. I just probably didn’t know how to approach it to do it. If I would have went back, could I say the idea I always thought about?”

Of course:

“I thought they would show from my perspective, somebody watching Vince, almost stalking him, and whatnot, but never show it’s me. Eventually, I abduct him from the show. I take him and I put him in a trunk, and I bring him to a building, and they still don’t know. He’s missing, and then eventually I have him chained in a building with a light or something, low light. Then I walk up, and you see the red gloves, and then I read him a poem. My thing is, you cut me, you took my life from me, you took my world. That was my world, and I was gonna abduct him and make him pay, and I guess try to make him re-sign me or something, but it was gonna be kind of outside, not just getting back to wrestling, being like he robbed me of everything. Because it was a big thing.”

You previously mentioned Legion of Doom. How do you get lined up with Animal and you become a member of Legion of Doom?

“Well, I remember that they came and told me about it, and then we started that progression of me doing the hair, and then I think the spikes or the face paint, I’m not sure how it went on, but I was progressing with Animal. But my first paint job was the butterfly effect, which Animal came up with, which I don’t think they like too much. But the skull thing was actually given to me by Triple H. He got me and asked me to come into the back room. So I go into this locker room and he sits there, it’s bizarre. He’s putting that skull on my face like real time.”

Triple H was painting you?

“It was his idea. But he puts it on me, and he tells me to look at it, it’s cool, that skull face. But then we had to go ask the Undertaker, because he had those things on his tights at the time, or his pants, that was a skull-type deal, and he approved it. He said it’s okay, I like it. I went with that, which I thought that paint job was way better. I got the spikes. But that was surreal, because in college, we were LOD fans, or marks. I guess it’s okay to say mark, I don’t mean anything bad by it. But I had photos of me and the guy I played college ball with at Mardi Gras, we made up our homemade LOD spikes and painted our faces, and it was Mardi Gras day. We went out dressed up like that, and I had pictures, so I brought one to Animal, this is no bullsh*t, man. We were LOD, we wanted to be LOD. But now I’m in LOD, so that was huge.”

How does poetry become the gimmick for Heidenreich?

“All right, poetry. I’ve been writing since college. An English teacher let me write a story about Jim Morrison’s poetry, and I got a high grade with it, and that opened my door. I didn’t think I was good at writing, but I started writing then. I’ve been writing poems and songs and other stuff. I don’t know what it is, but I have notebooks full of crazy stuff, and I think I’m pretty sure I was on a plane flying with Paul [Heyman], who was sitting behind me. I was writing a poem. I don’t know if I wrote it to him or something. I just wrote it. I’m like, I’m gonna slip this back here, like your note in school or something. He read it. He’s like, ‘You write poetry?’ I said, yeah man, all the time. I think I saw the wheels turning in his head. I owe him a lot. I’m pretty sure he said, hey this guy writes poems, something off the wall and bizarre, and they liked them. When I write them normally, I’d ask Vince, he was involved with me a lot. I’m like, do you want to hear it? He goes, ‘I know it’s gonna be good.’ I’m like, that’s cool, man. It made me feel good.”

Janel Grant posts deposition excerpts and statements over anonymous e-mails to WWE board

Through her Instagram account, Janel Grant posted deposition excerpts and statements regarding the anonymous e-mails which were sent to the WWE Board of Directors in April 2022 which kickstarted the downfall of Vince McMahon as WWE’s CEO.

Grant wrote that there was no person who knew her in life pre-dating 2019 who could write such an e-mail.

“Reading these for the first time took a sledgehammer to my mental health. I feel like a Taylor Swift lyric and wonder if someone caged me just to call me crazy. I’m not wired to understand why someone would write them. But I am trained to notice the use of hair splitters and spin,” Grant wrote.

She said before 2019 she was caring for her parents who were sick and declared bankruptcy, losing their family home. Hurricane Sandy came and even dropped a tree on the house.

“What never happened: No living on the street. No addictions to ‘percs.’ No rehab. There is no person who knew me in life pre-dating 2019 who could write this,” Grant wrote.

She then explained the spin.

“A friend? I see a trick to steer public perception. Homeless? I shared my background at work. Rehab? I shared my experience with grief counseling at work. Addiction? I shared that quitting nicotine lozenges wasn’t fun at work. A threat to expose info? It’s a highly reactive environment with security vendors in place. The rest of the email? It repackages years of time and illogical events involving a lot of people who have eyeballs into a logic sounding storyline with only a few people,” Grant continued.

Grant also added that she still has no idea who sent the original e-mail. The Wall Street Journal eventually got their hands on the story and opened a can of worms which altered the future of Vince McMahon and WWE in general.

Mercedes Mone addresses rumors during her time away from AEW TV

In the latest Mone Mag edition, former AEW TBS champion Mercedes Mone addressed the several rumors that surrounded her near six-month absence from AEW television.

She wrote that in 16 years, she never had a break that long which wasn’t due to an injury and it was the first time that she got to truly relax and have no worries, returning feeling better than ever.

“But one thing I realized during that time away? I missed wrestling so much,” Mone wrote. “Especially that AEW.”

She also saw the several rumors while she was away, including being pregnant, contract issues, and rumors of leaving AEW.

“NOTHING. Can I enjoy my vacation in peace? Can a woman have a period and be bloated?” she wrote. “Can I enjoy my time off without speculation and rumors?”

Mone said that one thing she learned is that no one is more impatient than wrestling fans.

“Y’all are the type of people who look up the ending of a movie before finishing it. You love not being surprised. You love not being present and fully in the moment because you’re so caught up in the fantasy,” she continued. “But now the wait is over.”

She said that she wasn’t gone because of injuries or contract issues, but was just waiting for the right time to return.

Men’s 2026 Owen Hart Cup tournament final set

The final of the men’s 2026 Owen Hart Cup tournament will feature former AEW World champion Swerve Strickland taking on Will Ospreay.

Strickland defeated Brody King on last night’s episode of Dynamite to advance to the final, a match which will take place at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The winner of the match will receive an AEW World title shot at All In at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Ospreay defeated Samoa Joe in the first round and Mark Davis in the semi final to reach the final while Strickland defeated Bandido first and then King yesterday.

The British star is the favorite to win the whole tournament and the title in his home country of England.

Two matches announced for Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view

Two matches were announced for the AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view last night on Dynamite.

British star Zack Sabre Jr. issued a challenge to former AEW World champion Kenny Omega on the show, saying the two never wrestled each other in the United States. You have to go back to 2018 for the last one-on-one match between the two stars, and on that night, Omega won the G1 tournament match.

A 12-man steel cage match was also announced, with MJF leading a team against another one led by Mark Briscoe. The stipulation is that if Briscoe’s team wins, he will then earn himself a shot at the AEW World title.

The other participants in the match haven’t been revealed, although Kevin Knight accepted MJF’s invitation on the basis that if they win, he also gets a title shot.

Forbidden Door takes place on Sunday, June 28 live from the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

Sareee pulled from Owen Hart Cup tournament, Maya World scores upset victory

As expected, Sareee did not participate in last night’s episode of Dynamite and surrendered her spot in the Owen Hart Cup tournament due to an injury she’s currently recovering from.

Taking her place was Maya World, who faced Skye Blue on the show, and scored the upset victory to book a semi final match against ROH Women’s champion Athena.

In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Sareee said that her tag team partner Takumi Iroha was traveling with her to take her place if she cannot compete but it seems that AEW had a different idea.

The other semi final match will feature Mercedes Mone vs Hazuki.

Cathy Kelley talks getting physical, R-Truth return, training at WWE PC, and more

WWE’s Cathy Kelley sat down with Chris Van Vliet at West Coast Creative Studio in Los Angeles, California to discuss being knocked over during the brawl between Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer, training at the WWE Performance Center and possibly getting physical in WWE, her emotional moment when R-Truth made his return, being backstage when CM Punk made his WWE return, learning from Paul Heyman, being a member of Mensa, her TikToks with Rhea Ripley and AJ Styles, and more!

Money in the Bank last year, R-Truth returned after being released. That was an emotional moment for you. What was going on there for you?

“He is someone that I feel like brings such a positive morale to work every week, and we had obviously gotten closer because we had done a lot of TikToks together. But he’s just such a positive person, and I feel like he’s that for everyone in the locker room. So, you know, not getting to say goodbye to someone is always tough, and then when he came back, I think that that was just really special for everyone.”

You got knocked over when you’re doing this segment with Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer. Is this gonna turn into something?

“I feel like that is just a workplace hazard, and I am normally pretty good about getting out of the way. Who’s to say if it’ll turn into something?”

Would you ever want to have a match?

“I don’t think I would want to have a match. I’ve expressed in the past that I do want to get more involved in some capacity. I would love to be a manager. I don’t know who for. That’s been something that I’ve said for probably a decade now. I actually valeted Ryan Katz in his last match on the Indies many, many years ago. But that progression is something that I would want.”

I heard you were training at the PC?

“I would say that I’m someone that really values growth, and I love learning everything that I can about this business. So any opportunity I can do that, I’m going to take it. Another example is I sit next to Paul Heyman every single week in Gorilla.”

You’ve been there for some of the biggest moments in WWE history. What’s been the biggest moment where you’ve been like, oh my gosh, I can’t believe either they’re doing this, or this person is back. What’s it been for you?

“In recent memory, I remember sitting outside of Gorilla when CM Punk came back. Even though there were rumors about it that day, to actually be in the building in Chicago, which is where I’m from, too. When he came out, I think was really cool.”

Did you see him walk into Gorilla before he walked out?

“You saw a hooded figure walking, and there were a lot of people around him. But when you have something that really surprises everyone, I think that’s the coolest thing.”

MJF says inflammation in his knee has “drastically gone down”

In a video posted on his social media, AEW World champion MJF confirmed the hyperextended knee injury he suffered against Rush but said that the inflammation in his knee has drastically gone down since last week.

MJF was filming the video while in a cold bath by Nordic Wave.

“Obviously, there’s still a shit ton of inflammation and pain, but being honest with myself, without this cold plunge, I do believe it would have took me a lot longer to start feeling like myself,” MJF said, plugging the product.

He said that Nordic Wave is going to be a big part of ensuring he doesn’t have to take any time off, which he said is imperative for both his career and AEW ratings, ticket sales, pay-per-view buys, etc.

TKO secures sponsorship with SuperFile for both UFC and WWE

TKO

TKO Group Holdings, Inc. and SuperFile, an American technology company building the future of digital ownership through trust, control, and simplicity, today announced a global partnership that makes SuperFile the inaugural Official Secure File Sharing Partner of UFC, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, and WWE, the global leader in sports entertainment.

SuperFile will also join as an Official Partner of UFC FREEDOM 250, presented by Crypto.com and RAM, the historic event taking place on the grounds of the White House in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The event commemorates the 250th birthday of the United States in a once-in-a-generation celebration of the American fighting spirit.

“Brands that earn a place inside UFC and WWE understand that these platforms deliver more than reach — they deliver relevance at the highest level of sports and entertainment,” said Robby Miller, Vice President, Head of U.S. Global Partnerships at TKO. “SuperFile is redefining how organizations protect, control, and share their digital content, and they are entering the conversation at exactly the right moment. From UFC Freedom 250 on the South Lawn of the White House, to Conor McGregor’s highly anticipated return during International Fight Week, to WrestleMania, SuperFile is using some of the world’s most-watched sports and entertainment events to make a powerful statement about the future of digital ownership.”

Shane Valdez, Founder & CEO of SuperFile, explained why this is the right partnership at the right time: “When you build a company, there are certain moments you never forget. This will be one of them. As an American technology company, standing on the grounds of the White House during the celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary is something that’s hard to put into words. It’s one of those rare moments where you pause, look around, and appreciate just how far a dream can travel. What makes it even more meaningful is who we’re standing alongside.

“UFC and WWE aren’t just global brands. They’ve become part of American culture. For decades, they’ve brought people together through unforgettable moments, incredible talent, and a relentless commitment to being the very best at what they do.

“That’s what drew us to TKO. From our earliest conversations, it was clear we shared a similar mindset. We both believe the future belongs to people willing to challenge convention, take risks, and build things others think are impossible.

“At SuperFile, that’s how we’ve approached innovation from day one. Not by asking how to improve what’s already been done, but by asking what should exist next. That’s why this partnership means so much to us. It’s not simply about visibility. It’s about aligning with organizations that share a belief in pushing boundaries and building for the future.

“To begin that journey at the White House, during such a historic moment for our country, makes it even more special. We’re incredibly proud to represent American innovation on this stage, and even more excited about what we’ll build together in the years ahead.”

As an Official Partner of UFC FREEDOM 250, a one-of-a-kind moment in sports history, SuperFile will have a major presence throughout the event, including branding inside the world-famous Octagon and broadcast integrations that will provide SuperFile with exposure to UFC’s global audience across an estimated 1 billion households in 210 countries and territories.

Among its on-air features, SuperFile will serve as the Presenting Partner of the Super Replay, a custom feature highlighting some of the most memorable moments from the night, as well as Keys to Victory, a broadcast feature highlighting the tactics and strategies that will be critical for an athlete to secure a win.

Following the live telecast, SuperFile will serve as the Presenting Partner for the one-hour UFC FREEDOM 250 SuperFile Post-Show, in which UFC analysts and athletes look back on the event’s defining moments.

Zaria wins the NXT Women’s North American title

NXT Women's North American title

Zaria won the NXT Women’s North American title on NXT last night, defeating Tatum Paxley for her first gold in NXT.

This ended Paxley’s 94-day reign as champion after she won it in March at Vengeance Day, defeating Izzi Dame.

The Australian star, who has been wrestling for NXT since 2024, has been targeting the title for a while and missed her opportunity to win it at Stand & Deliver during a ladder match. On that night, her former friend Sol Ruca won the vacant title.

Royal Rumble 2027: what do the international betting odds tell us about this summer’s booking?

The 2027 Men’s Royal Rumble may be half a year away, but some sites are already listing who they think are the favorites to win.

While there’s no betting on pro wrestling in the United States, leading sites still offer prediction pools, DFS games and Pick’Ems on all the major PLEs. The easiest ways to keep up with these and ensure you don’t miss out, and read all the latest WWE coverage, is via the Action Network app.

Knowing which wrestlers are in the running for next year’s Royal Rumble win, and the subsequent title shot at WrestleMania 43, can make a big difference when playing these fantasy games now. WWE will carefully manage the trajectories of wrestlers who they want to be strong in January, making them likely to perform well over the summer.

These are the WWE superstars tipped for the 2027 Men’s Royal Rumble to keep an eye on when playing WWE fantasy games throughout the rest of the year.

Oba Femi

It’s a question of when, not if, WWE straps a rocket ship to Oba Femi. He’s likely to be the King of the Ring winner when the crown is decided at Night of Champions, and still has unfinished business with Brock Lesnar.

Oba Femi defeated The Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 42, with Lesnar seemingly retiring. He returned, though, and took the win in the rematch at the Clash in Italy. The rubber match will surely take place at SummerSlam, which this year comes from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This is the same city where Lesnar forged his reputation as an elite collegiate wrestler over 20 years ago, and surely where he’ll look to retire for good. Lesnar doing the business for Oba Femi would be another big sign that WWE will be pushing him towards a Royal Rumble win and WrestleMania championship match.

Sami Zayn

There are some wrestlers who, inexplicably, have never held a world title. The likes of ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper, Mr Perfect and Scott Hall are all examples of those who came close, but never quite got the top belt. Both on-screen and off, Sami Zayn is now in that battle.

Zayn is looking set to spend the summer trying to win his first ever world title. While there’s every chance that WWE pulls the trigger and gives Zayn a run on top, it’s equally likely that they’ll hold off until the Royal Rumble. If Zayn doesn’t get his shot with the belt anytime soon, expect him to heat up at the end of the year in preparation of a Rumble win.

Bron Breakker

The 2026 Royal Rumble was a washout for Bron Breakker. First his build up program with Seth Rollins was disrupted by an injury to The Visionary, and then a hernia robbed him of a likely Rumble win and Mania main event.

There’s no doubt that Breakker is a future face of WWE, but his short term is a little more unpredictable. Expect him to pick up plenty of wins over the summer as WWE rebuilds him, but don’t quite lock him into a Rumble pool just yet.

Gunther

If there is one WWE star who needs a Royal Rumble win, it’s Gunther. Despite retiring both John Cena and AJ Styles over the last 12 months, Gunther seems a little lost in WWE. He works best as the unshakable bad-guy champion, and hasn’t benefited from the 50/50 booking against Cody Rhodes as he chases the Undisputed WWE Championship.

There’s every chance that WWE will still put the title on Gunter over the summer. If not, expect a strong end of 2026 from The Ring General as he’s reinforced as a major Rumble threat.

Raw views for 06/01/2026

Raw

The June 1 episode of Raw from Turin, Italy drew a record-low number on Netflix, with only 2,000,000 viewers globally tuning in, down a whopping half a million from the prior week. The show aired at 2PM ET instead of its regular time slot.

The show placed #9 on the Netflix top 10 global chart, matching the views of the #10 show, The Four Seasons. It had 6,200,000 viewing hours based on an episode edited down to 1 hour and 47 minutes.

Raw was only in the top 10 chart of nine countries for the week, with Bahrain, Bolivia, Canada, Ecuador, India, Nicaragua, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, and United States charting. It’s interesting that it did not chart in Italy where the show took place.
