Mercedes Mone addresses rumors during her time away from AEW TV

In the latest Mone Mag edition, former AEW TBS champion Mercedes Mone addressed the several rumors that surrounded her near six-month absence from AEW television.

She wrote that in 16 years, she never had a break that long which wasn’t due to an injury and it was the first time that she got to truly relax and have no worries, returning feeling better than ever.

“But one thing I realized during that time away? I missed wrestling so much,” Mone wrote. “Especially that AEW.”

She also saw the several rumors while she was away, including being pregnant, contract issues, and rumors of leaving AEW.

“NOTHING. Can I enjoy my vacation in peace? Can a woman have a period and be bloated?” she wrote. “Can I enjoy my time off without speculation and rumors?”

Mone said that one thing she learned is that no one is more impatient than wrestling fans.

“Y’all are the type of people who look up the ending of a movie before finishing it. You love not being surprised. You love not being present and fully in the moment because you’re so caught up in the fantasy,” she continued. “But now the wait is over.”

She said that she wasn’t gone because of injuries or contract issues, but was just waiting for the right time to return.
