AEW President Tony Khan said that Mercedes Mone is targeted for an October return after getting injured at All In.

Speaking during a conference call with the press ahead of tomorrow’s All Out pay-per-view, Khan said that the new AEW Women’s champion was supposed to wrestle and defend the title at All Out, but due to her injury, they had to pivot.

“That’s the nature of wrestling. It’s a hard-hitting sport. There are injuries and just like in all sports, you have to have a deep roster and be able to think on your feet and be flexible,” Khan said.

“I think she’ll be back next month and I’m almost certain she’ll be back next month,” he continued, adding that the number one contender’s match for the AEW Women’s title at All Out will determine Mone’s challenger for their next pay-per-view, WrestleDream.
