Tony Khan says he’s “excited” about Skydance partnership and new leadership team

During a conference call with reporters ahead of WrestleDream, AEW President Tony Khan said he was very “excited” about the new leadership at Skydance and one of their biggest cheerleaders, Channing Dungy, will remain with the company.

Khan did not specify under which division AEW will fall under, be it sports or entertainment, but said that the takeover from Skydance was their best scenario, adding that any upcoming possible changes will be “positive” and that he has already been in several discussions with them.

The young AEW President remains confident and bullish about Skydance picking up AEW’s next media rights deal, a deal which currently runs till the end of 2027 with an option year from the network.

Khan has often touted his friendship with Skydance chief David Ellison through their NFL ties.
