Dwayne Johnson reveals cancer scare in long interview with Esquire

In an interview published by Esquire, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed a recent health scare which he thought was going to be diagnosed as cancer after feeling a lump on his testicle while he was having a shower.

Johnson immediately went to a doctor and was told it could be an inflammation of a tube or cancer, and underwent an ultrasound to determine what it was.

“I didn’t even tell Lauren (his wife). I didn’t want to worry her before I knew if it was anything to even worry about,” he said.

Johnson had a full day of appearances that day and had to pretend everything was okay even though he did not know the diagnosis.

“I had to live with that for those twenty-four hours, not knowing—and I had to be on all day, joking around, making speeches,” he said.

The Rock added that everything is fine now.

“By the way: I’m fine. But I didn’t know that then, and the thing was really painful,” Johnson told Ryan D’Agostino.
