WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque talked about Brock Lesnar returning in the SummerSlam post-show.
Lesnar made a shocking return after an absence of two years and attacked John Cena at the end of the show, doing the same thing that he did to Cena in 2014 when he returned to WWE from the UFC.
“My reaction was exactly what I thought it was going to be, which is if there was a roof on this place it wouldn’t be there anymore,” Triple H told the panel.
He said that the dynamic in the locker room changes when Lesnar is around and with him back, anything you thought was happening goes out the window.
“It makes it so unpredictable. So yeah, incredible, just incredible to have him back,” he said.
Brock Lesnar was “banned” from TKO according to former UFC Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and that stems from the Janel Grant lawsuit where he was named, although not part of the party being sued.
Lesnar was removed from the Royal Rumble last year and also from the WWE video game due to his involvement. Something has changed over the past few weeks that cleared Lesnar returning to the company.
As expected, WWE got some flack online for allowing this to happen although the full picture is not yet known.
WWE announced a total attendance of 113,772 at MetLife Stadium for the first-ever two-night SummerSlam.
It was Stephanie McMahon who made the announcement in the middle of the ring, saying this was the biggest SummerSlam in history.
The attendance for night one was 53,161 while it was 60,561 for night two. SummerSlam Sunday pulled away from Saturday in ticket sales late in the week.
While it was less than what MetLife Stadium holds, over 80,000, selling that amount of tickets for two days is nothing but a major success.
WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas had a total of 124,693 for the two nights this past April.
SummerSlam had a special appearance by two of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history: The Dudley Boyz and The Hardys.
The two teams were in attendance for the 25th anniversary of the first-ever TLC match, which also included the team of Edge and Christian, who obviously couldn’t be there since they both work for AEW.
The Dudleyz, as Team 3D, and the Hardys will go at it one more time at the upcoming TNA Bound For Glory pay-per-view in October, which Michael Cole plugged on commentary during the segment.
A TLC match also took place at SummerSlam last night involving six of Smackdown’s tag teams which was won by The Wyatt Sicks, retaining their WWE Tag Team titles.
After the main event ended and John Cena was in the ring alone, Brock Lesnar’s theme song hit the speakers at MetLife Stadium and the crowd exploded.
“Holy shit,” Michael Cole screamed without getting bleeped. “The Beast is back!”
With long hair, a cowboy hat, a new shirt, and jeans, Lesnar strolled down the long ramp, never removing his eyes from his target. Once he hit ringside, Lesnar removed his jacket and hat, got in the ring, and ran in the ring.
Cena tried to strike first but Lesnar ducked and hit him with an F5, leaving him motionless.
It must have been some deja vu for Cena as Lesnar made his WWE return 11 years ago from the UFC and did exactly the same to Cena in the main event segment of the show.
This was Lesnar’s first appearance in WWE since SummerSlam 2023 when he lost to Cody Rhodes in their three-match series. Lesnar was named in the Janel Grant lawsuit and was somewhat eliminated from future shows.
John Cena’s #17 has come to an end after four months at SummerSlam to the hands of the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes.
Cena entered to the ring first to his black Titan Tron but then it turned to the usual colorful entrance with the New Jersey crowd helping singing his theme.
It was probably Cena’s best match since coming back, slightly helped by the fact that this was a street fight, but Cody had his Cena’s number this time.
Rhodes won his second WWE title after hitting a Cross Rhodes finisher, but not before he gave Cena a salute.
After the match, Cena gave Rhodes the belt and hugged him and the two exchanged an emotional moment together in the ring. Rhodes celebrated with fireworks and Cena raised his hand.
Rhodes left the ring with the fans chanting for Cena. But as he was about to leave….
Here are the results from last night’s SummerSlam 2025 Sunday which took place from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Naomi defeated Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky in a triple threat match to retain the WWE Women’s World title; The Wyatt Sicks defeated The Motor City Machine Guns, The Street Profits, Fraxiom, DIY, and Rey Fenix and Andrade in a six-pack TLC match to retain the WWE Tag Team titles; Becky Lynch defeated Lyra Valkyria to retain the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title; Solo Sikoa defeated Jacob Fatu in a steel cage match to retain the WWE United States title; Dominik Mysterio defeated AJ Styles to retain the WWE Intercontinental title; Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena to become the new WWE champion.
Hello everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with NIGHT TWO of the Summerslam 2025 Pick’em report. As mentioned last evening, the winner of this two-night aggregate scoring extravaganza will walk out with the prestigious WOPC Championship – will it be me? Or Colin? Let’s find out.
ON WITH THE PICKS FOR NIGHT TWO!!
WWE Intercontinental Championship Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. AJ Styles
Colin: I can’t see Dirty Dom losing here. Just like Becky Lynch, AJ Styles doesn’t need the title, especially this one. Dom is growing and growing and will be a big star down the road and a victory over AJ Styles will be good for him. Move AJ to the main event picture and let Dom run with the title!
Magnum: I’ve gotta admit, AJ has been pretty hilarious in the lead-up to this match. All of the costumes and gimmicks that he’s been doing (as a janitor, ring crew member, etc.) to stay in Dirty Dom’s purview have been extremely entertaining. Tonight will finally be the payoff for these two, and I am expecting a total banger of a match. I’ve heard the rumblings about Dom and AAA, so it’d make sense to take the title off of him…but not yet. I feel like Roxanne might get involved here – look for Dom to retain the title.
WWE Tag Team Championship – Tables, Ladders, and Chairs The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy) (c) vs. Andrade and Rey Fénix vs. #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) vs. Axiom and Nathan Frazer vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford)
Colin: With all the participants involved, I’m expecting some holy shit moments here. This match might steal the night. If there’s one way to take the title off Wyatt Sicks without them getting pinned, this is the match. It’s gonna be crazy. It’s gonna be a spectacular car crash, but I think Lumis and Gacy will find a way to retain the titles.
Magnum: It’s great to see these teams on the Summerslam card – it was a shame that they missed out on WrestleMania. That said, this should be one of the wildest TLC matches we’ll ever see, just based on the sheer number of participants in the match. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Andrade and Rey Fenix steal the whole show, and in the process, climb the ladder and win the WWE Tag Team Championship.
WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Last Chance Match – No DQ, No Count-Out Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria
Colin: This whole program was done to put over Lyra. Let’s face it, Becky does not need the title, especially the Intercontinental title. This should be the end of this feud and the only way forward is for Valkyria to win the title.
Magnum: I was waiting for them to include Bayley in this match as a referee…but it looks like that won’t happen. This should be a crazy final chapter of a feud that began the night after Mania 41. Expect weapons, chicanery, and maybe even Bayley…ultimately, I’ll take Lyra to win this “Last Chance” match.
WWE United States Championship – Steel Cage Match Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
Colin: I’d like to think that Fatu lost the title last time around so he can get the big payback at a major premium live event. This would be a great place to do it in front of 50,000+ fans. I don’t think the steel cage will help keep people out, but somehow, someway, I think Fatu is going to pull this one off. #ANDNEW!
Magnum: Another one that is very tough to call – I have to believe that for Jacob to lose, they’d do it in a way where he wouldn’t be pinned. I feel like a rocket is eventually going to be strapped to this dude, and it’s only a matter of time before he’s in the Main Event picture. As for tonight? This is probably going to be the biggest win of Solo’s career – I’ll take Solo to retain.
WWE Women’s World Championship – Triple Threat Naomi (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky
Colin: These three should be cooking tonight. Cooking as in not in the kitchen, but in the ring. All three are fantastic workers and you can hardly go wrong with any of them in a match. I don’t see Naomi losing it just after winning the title a few weeks ago, it would make no sense. So I’m picking Naomi to retain tonight.
Magnum: What an ending last month at Evolution! I also like the surprise of Naomi cashing in on these guys (instead of the predictable Jade title win). Naomi’s going to be in much higher standing if she can pull off the win here – in fact, I’ll go with Naomi and I’ll warn the other ladies in this match to proceed…with…caution.
WWE Undisputed Championship – Street Fight John Cena (c) vs. Cody Rhodes
Colin: Something seemed off with how Smackdown went down and Cena turning face just like that. I smell a swerve somewhere, I don’t know where it’s coming from and who it’s coming from, but there has to be more to it than just that. Cody’s off filming a movie this month and Cena is pretty much advertised for more appearances this month. I say Cena retains the title tonight and there might be a surprise.
Magnum: At this point, ANYTHING will be an improvement over what happened at Mania 41. Thankfully, we won’t have to worry about Travis Scott this time! Expect a much better match this time around, and while I cannot say it for certain, there’s a part of me that wonders if this will be the last match of the evening. Trust me, I’m not saying Seth’s injury is a work…but there have been seeds planted here. Anything could happen. Since we’re not predicting a cash-in…I’ll predict that at least ONE World Championship will change hands on Night Two, and regardless of what may or may not happen afterwards, I’ll take Cody to get his revenge on Cena and win the WWE Title.
Okay, that’s going to do it for us! Thank you so much for checking us out here on Wrestling-Online! We’ll see you at the Clash in Paris later this month! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
After SummerSlam went off the air, Seth Rollins recreated his WrestleMania 31 title celebration at the top of the ramp, doing the helicopter spin with the WWE World Heavyweight title.
Rollins became a two-time WWE World Heavyweight champion last night after he successfully cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase on a gassed-out CM Punk in the main event of the show, reigniting his feud with his arch nemesis.
Rollins was acting injured since the last Saturday Night’s Main Event in mid-July and “threw away” a match against LA Knight to fake his knee injury. He went away from WWE television quietly as the rest of his group – Heyman, Breakker, and Reed – continued their destruction.
This was his second successful MITB cash in following the one at WrestleMania 31 which was labeled the “heist of the century” at the time.
Bron Breakker suffered an injury during the opening tag team match at SummerSlam last night.
The former Intercontinental champion was seen limping heading to the back and was helped by a trainer according to videos posted by several fans. He also had difficulty going up the stairs behind the stag, clearly favoring his right leg.
After Seth Rollins cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase, Breakker joined in the celebration but his leg was heavily taped up.
At the meet and greets earlier this morning, Breakker fulfilled his obligations but was sitting on a stool for photos with fans.
It’s unclear when he suffered the injury or what the severity is at this point.
Live from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, WWE presents SummerSlam 2025 Sunday on Peacock in the United States and Netflix everywhere else worldwide. The full card is as follows:
John Cena vs Cody Rhodes for the WWE title in a street fight; Naomi vs Rhea Ripley vs Iyo Sky in a triple threat match for the WWE Women’s World title; Becky Lynch vs Lyra Valkyria for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title; Solo Sikoa vs Jacob Fatu for the WWE United States title; Dominik Mysterio vs AJ Styles for the WWE Intercontinental title; and The Wyatt Sicks vs Andrade and Rey Fenix vs DIY vs Fraxiom vs Motor City Machine Guns vs The Street Profits in a six-pack tables, ladders, and chairs match for the WWE Tag Team titles.
The Countdown to SummerSlam pre-show will kick off at 3PM ET and it streams on WWE’s social media properties as well as on Peacock and Netflix for free. The SummerSlam show will start at 6PM ET and will be followed by the post-show at 11PM ET.
Dustin Rhodes said that he has to undergo “very invasive major surgery” thanks to Kyle Fletcher’s actions this past Thursday on Collision.
Rhodes noted that he has MRIs and CAT scans lined up this coming week and later wrote on X that it was not a work.
“I am in a terrible amount of pain and have a hole in my leg, but that won’t stop me from #KeepSteppin,” he wrote, adding that it was special for him to be the face of TNT and he will never take what he has for granted.
Rhodes lost the TNT title to Fletcher in a very bloody Chicago Street Fight on Thursday night as the show moved days to avoid going head-to-head with SummerSlam.
WWE honored Hulk Hogan at SummerSlam and played his Real American theme song one more time as cameras panned to his son Nick and his wife Tana Lea.
It was Michael Cole, who at ringside called Hogan the greatest performer in the history of wrestling and ran down Hogan’s accomplishments at SummerSlam throughout the years.
“He was undefeated in the biggest party this summer. He teamed with the Macho Man as The Mega Powers to battle The Mega Bucks. He shared the ring with the likes of The Ultimate Warrior, the Heartbreak Kid and Randy Orton,” Cole said. “Just so many great moments, too many to talk about really, in the career of a man who carried professional wrestling on his back for three decades. Rest in peace, brother.”
At that point, the camera turned on Nick Hogan, who was sporting a red shirt, a yellow tie, and a black jacket, and his wife who was wearing a red and yellow outfit. The Real American theme song blared over the speakers and fans gave Nick a standing ovation and were really respectful throughout.
The WWE World Heavyweight title changed hands twice at SummerSlam after Seth Rollins cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase, keeping his promise of never letting CM Punk hold the world title in WWE.
Punk won the title first, pinning Gunther following two GTS finishers. Punk was exhausted and emotional after the match, holding his first WWE title in over a decade.
But then…”BURN IT DOOOOOWN!”
Seth Rollins walked out on crutches with Paul Heyman by his side, holding the Money In The Bank briefcase. Rollins pretended to play mind games with Punk and then turned around to walk to the back.
But as the camera moved in to follow Rollins, he stopped and dropped the two crutches to his side. He slowly turned around, removed his knee brace, grabbed the briefcase from Heyman, and ran down to the ring for another “heist of the century” moment.
Punk went on the attack but quickly found himself on the defensive as Rollins hit him with the briefcase multiple times. Punk cashed in the briefcase and then hit the stomp on the new champion and covered him for the one, two, three.
Rollins, who faked his injury since Saturday Night’s Main Event, then celebrated with Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman as fireworks went off.
Here are the results from SummerSlam 2025 Saturday which took place live from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed; Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair defeated Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team champions; Sami Zayn defeated Karrion Kross; Tiffany Stratton defeated Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s title; Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre defeated Randy Orton and Jelly Roll; CM Punk defeated Gunther to become the new WWE World Heavyweight champion; Seth Rollins defeated CM Punk after he cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase to become the new WWE World Heavyweight champion.
Hello everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with yet another installment of the Pick’em report. Tonight, it’s NIGHT ONE of the biggest party of the Summer – WWE SummerSlam! For nearly 40 years, the WWE has looked to this show as the hottest event of the year. For the first time, WWE is doing it bigger than ever by hosting two nights of SummerSlam! I will be defending the WOPC Championship against Colin in a two-night aggregate battle to determine who is the true King of the Summer! Let’s dive right in!!
ON WITH THE PICKS FOR NIGHT ONE!!
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship The Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss
Colin: I didn’t think the fans would do a 180 on Flair and actually cheer her. But Alexa – and her Players Tribute article – helped in everyone getting behind the Queen. It’s an interesting pairing to be honest but each of them are more valuable as singles. I’m thinking Judgment Day will retain tonight.
Magnum: This match was put together in a hasty fashion, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this match was a low-key banger. It’s going to be awesome to see Roxanne match up against two of the most decorated female wrestlers in WWE over the last ten years. In the end, I think there’s something brewing with this “We Are Not Friends” mashup of Charlotte and Alexa. I’ll take them to win the titles.
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed (with Paul Heyman)
Colin: Roman finally decided to show up to work again! Hah. I actually missed him on TV. This should be a great match and you know we’re going to see a couple of good-looking spears! Bron and Bronson winning would do them wonders but I don’t think Roman and Jey are taking an L here. Breakker should be kept strong and I wouldn’t be surprised if Reed takes the pinfall. Bloodline wins.
Magnum: Another big time high-profile tag team match. This one came together out of the wreckage that was Seth Rollins’ injury. The smart money play would be a stunning upset of Bron pinning Roman and putting everyone on notice. Sadly, I don’t anticipate that happening. I’ll take the OTC1 and the Yeetman to win it – Roman and Jey stand victorious.
Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross (with Scarlett)
Colin: Kross has said that he didn’t sign a new deal and he wasn’t offered one either. His contract is reportedly up very, very soon. The outcome of this match should be telling of what’s going to happen with him, I think. I hope he stays, he and Scarlett are really good and I’m picking Kross to pick up the victory tonight.
Magnum: This one is interesting – they’re 1-1 in their Summer series, and I anticipate that this will be the blowoff. At the same time, I wonder if this will be the start of a Kross push – if so, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has some new henchmen debuting at this show. I’ll take Kross to win.
WWE Women’s Championship Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill
Colin: Jade looks great, she looks like a proper Superstar. Seriously. But is she ready to run with the WWE Women’s title? I don’t think so. She needs a few more under her belt and then we can talk. Tiff is over like rover and it would be bad if she lost here. Give me Tiffy Time every day of the week!
Magnum: The build for this has been extremely underwhelming – I think there’s a clash here regarding who’s supposed to be working as the babyface, and who’s supposed to be working as a heel. This match needs that formula – who are we supposed to cheer for? Who are we supposed to boo? One might say, “It’s 2025 – the roles don’t have to be clearly defined.” For these two? YES THEY DO. I’ll take Jade to win, with one additional request…please turn heel already.
Randy Orton and Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul
Colin: WWE is obsessed with having celebrities in the ring. It gives them free publicity, although I haven’t seen much for this one. Roll has been on a roll (pun intended) at the WWE PC apparently and he said he’s going to surprise us all today. We shall see, I guess. Both McIntyre and Paul need a W and if this will continue (you know it somehow will), they’re coming out on top.
Magnum: Who asked for this? (Colin puts his hand up)…I knew it. They’ll turn this into something good, because 2 of the 4 people involved with this match are all-time HOF players. Jelly Roll will be fine, but limited, and Logan Paul will do his typical crazy bumps. We didn’t ask for this, but I’m sure they’ll make the best of it. I’ll take Orton and Jelly Roll to win.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Gunther (c) vs. CM Punk
Colin: Oh man, I’m really hoping Rollins’ injury is a work (see how it’s been forgotten all of a sudden?). I totally expect CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight title tonight, but I don’t see him walking out of MetLife Stadium with it. Seth is going to cash in his MITB briefcase, swerves us all, and keeps his promise of no letting Punk be the champion. Punk wins, then loses.
Magnum: The original WrestleMania 41 Main Event is finally happening – Gunther vs. CM Punk. These two are going to tear the place down. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gunther takes the Ric Flair route and ends up with 15+ World Championships. To become a 15-time champion, though, it means you’ve gotta go down 15 times as well. Tonight will be one of those times – CM Punk finally becomes World Champion again in WWE.
Okay folks, that’s going to do it for the Pick’em Crew for Night One of Summerslam 2025! We’ll see you tomorrow night for NIGHT TWO of this sensational pick’em. See you then! @TheMagnumDA signing off for now.

MJF is the new CMLL Light Heavyweight champion after participated in his second match for the promotion last night at Arena Mexico.
The former AEW champion won the match thanks to a low blow and then a Boston crab, after which Averno tapped out.
MJF ended Averno’s 491-day reign as the champion, having won it on March 29, 2024 from Barbaro Cavernario.
It’s all gearing up for a rematch against the super popular Mistico at some point with the title on the line. MJF and Mistico wrestled at Grand Slam: Mexico, a match which Mistico won via disqualification.
