Mark Hunt thinks Brock Lesnar is all juiced up

Brock Lesnar’s opponent at UFC 200, Mark Hunt, told FOX Sports Australian that he thinks Lesnar is “juiced to the gills” and doesn’t think it’s fair that he was granted an exemption from some of the drug testing performed by the United States Anti-Doping Agency.

The UFC applied an exception to their anti-doping rules, saying that Lesnar could not have been tested by USADA since the deal for the fight was signed last week, just over a month before their scheduled fight. A four month notice is usually required.

“I don’t think anyone should be exempt from testing. If they’re trying to clean the sport up this is a bad way to do it. I don’t care who you are. It’s ridiculous,” Hunt said. He also voiced his opinion to the UFC and its President, Dana White. Hunt was told that Lesnar is eventually getting tested and a statement issued by the UFC to the media said that Lesnar is being treated as if he’s a new UFC fighter since he’s been out for a long time.

Despite thinking that Lesnar is all juiced up, Hunt vows to knock him out anyway. “I love competition but I just don’t think it’s fair. I mean, I don’t think it’s an even playing field. But it doesn’t mean you’re not going to get knocked out. Frank Mir was juicing and he got knocked out. The same thing’s going to happen with Brock Lesnar.”

Hunt continued to air his frustration when asked if he will be able to make weight with just one month to go. He said he shouldn’t kill himself trying to make weight since Lesnar is getting exempted from doping tests. “I should get an exemption as well but I’m a professional. I’ve got to make weight. It just annoys me. It sucks that Mr Superstar has to get away with it, get an exemption, and everyone else has to walk the straight line.”

The UFC heavyweight is confident that he will outlast Lesnar, saying that the former WWE and UFC champ will get tired and then he will knock him out. According to online betting, Hunt is the favorite to win this match with Lesnar coming in as the underdog.

MITB pay-per-view possibly running longer than 3 hours

Our good friend and WWE Italy commentator Luca Franchini sent in word that WWE has alerted its broadcast partners that the Money In The Bank pay-per-view might run longer than the usual three hours.

The encore presentations of Money In The Bank on Sky Italia’s PPV service Primafila have been scheduled to run for four hours, from Noon to 4PM and 4PM to 8PM starting Monday June 20 till Thursday, June 23. This doesn’t mean that the show will run for four hours but WWE will be having an overrun, with the exact time not revealed to its partners.

We have no confirmation that this will be the norm going forward or if it’s just for this pay-per-view alone. WrestleMania 32 had a marathon broadcast and it was the first ever WWE pay-per-view to go past the four hour mark, with the show nearly touching five hours plus a two hour pre-show for a total of seven hours of live broadcast.

Impact rating for 06/07/2016

The Slammiversary go-home edition of Impact on POP did a total of 326,000 viewers, down 20,000 viewers from last week’s show. Late last month Impact did a new record on POP with 359,000 viewers but this is the second week in a row in decline since pulling that number on May 23. (Ratings credit: Showbuzzdaily.com)

Paul Ellering returns to manage new NXT tag team

WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering made a shocking return yesterday on WWE television, accompanying the new NXT tag team The Authors of Pain during the NXT Takeover: The End show.

Ellering, the former manager of the Road Warriors, showed up after Sunny Dhinsa and Gzim Selmani demolished American Alpha following their loss to The Revival. The NXT fans at Full Sail did not recognize the legendary manager and chanted “Who are you?” at him.

Dhinsa and Selmani have been teaming up at non-televised NXT events for the past several months and yesterday it was their first NXT televised appearance. Ellering has not appeared on WWE television since the 2011 Hall of Fame and the next night at WrestleMania, accepting the honor along with Road Warrior Animal.

Monday Night Raw TV report for 06/06/2016

Monday Night Raw TV Report for June 6th, 2016

Introduction Segment: Arena Promo

We are live right away in Oklahoma City as Dean Ambrose is making his way to the ring. In the squared circle, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, Alberto Del Rio, and Sami Zayn are all on ladders. Dean climbs in and climbs on. Lillian Garcia, the ring announcer, calls out all of their names.

Owens stops Lillian and tirades about his opponents and being the Money In The Bank winner. Ambrose just wants to get to the battle, but Kevin keeps on going about being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion after Money In The Bank. In a shot on a “cheap plug,” Owens says he will take on everyone from WWE/W.C.W.’s past, who he sees on the WWE Network.

Sami detests Kevin’s ideas, and says he will give anyone on the current roster a shot at the title if he wins; Ambrose still want to just get to the punches; and Del Rio dresses down his challengers. Cesaro tries to move this along, but Jericho interrupts, citing that the Money In The Bank Ladder Match was his innovation. Cesaro inquires why “Y2J” has actually not been a victor in any of these matches though, despite inventing it; Jericho and Zayn debate when Jericho “won it,” and the jokes continue. Dean has had enough and punches Jericho, igniting the predictable brawl.

Music that we haven’t heard for a while plays, as former Smackdown! General Manager Theodore R. Long returns! He wants to be in control when Smackdown! becomes a live show on July 19th, then books a bunch of matches in one with all the Money In The Bank contenders. Stephanie McMahon walks out and tries to figure out what Teddy’s about, but also informs him that no one has been named for Smackdown’s leadership. Long wants to talk to Shane instead, but Stephanie says Shane is on vacation. She orders Teddy to leave, and has Sami Zayn wrestle Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Owens go against Dean Ambrose, and Cesaro wrestling Chris Jericho!

Match #1: Single – Cesaro VS. Chris Jericho

They are in the corner and slap each other, and trade standing headlocks. Jericho gives a shoulder-block and panders to the fans, receiving boos in response. He clamps on a wristlock, but Cesaro repeatedly kip-ups out of it, and gives Jericho a shoulder-block of his own.

Chris whips Cesaro over the ropes, but Cesaro lands on the apron and uppercuts as Jericho tried a springboard-dropkick. He follows with a somersault-senton from the apron to the floor, then hurls Jericho into the corner barrier and runs with an uppercut! Cesaro ascends the top turnbuckle and dives, but “Y2J” counters with a dropkick for a near-fall!

Jericho has Cesaro in a headlock, but his Irish Whip is reversed, and Cesaro gives him numerous uppercuts in the opposite corner. Jericho is whipped to the apron, but climbs the turnbuckle and jumps, but again is met with an uppercut! 1 – 2 – Jericho raises his shoulder!

Cesaro signals for the swing, but Jericho reverses into a victory-roll to get two! Cesaro tries another Uppercut, but Jericho counters into the Codebreaker! Cesaro rolls to the floor though, and Chris puts him back in after a struggle. 1 – 2 – Cesaro lifts his shoulder! Jericho tries a move on the apron, but Cesaro counters with an uppercut and suplexes him into the ring! 1 – 2 – Jericho kicks out!

“Y2J” hits back with a missile-dropkick from the middle turnbuckle, but Cesaro does not stay down! They hit each other back-and-forth until Cesaro hits a hard clothesline. He tries the Gotch Neutralizer, but Jericho reverses into the walls of Jericho; Cesaro turns him over and into the Swing, swinging him for fourteen-times. Cesaro locks on The Sharpshooter, and Jericho gives up!

Winner via Submission: Cesaro

Segment #2: In Memoriam

Still-pictures and Twitter words from wrestlers remember Muhammad Ali, who passed away over the weekend.

Segment #3: Video Promo

“I said from day one, publicly, privately, within The Shield, anywhere I could, that I wanted to be the best of all-time.” That is Seth Rollins, who talks about his career since debuting at Survivor Series in 2012. “I said that I wanted to be ‘the best of all-time,’ not ‘one of the best.’ There’s only room at the top of the mountain for one guy, and I just happened to be the one who was presented with the opportunity to take the next step. What mattered to me was that I wanted to be at the top of the mountain, on the marquee every single night. I think people misunderstand my relationship with Roman; I don’t dislike Roman, but Roman just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. ‘I stole Roman’s moment at WrestleMania.’ I mean that’s pretty questionable, I would say, because there was no ‘moment’ without me. Who’s to say that moment wasn’t mine to begin with? I dreamed my entire life of leaving WrestleMania as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. I didn’t give a damn about Roman Reigns’ moment; I wanted my moment. I was at the top of my game, and this industry is harsh, and unforgiving. (Clips of his injury are shown.) On a random night, Dublin, Ireland, the first night of the European Tour, I landed wrong, and all of a sudden, everything that I had worked for, everything that I had dreamed of my entire life was taken away from me in an instant; it’s literately a childhood dream, it’s something you’ve thought about for the last twenty-five years. I did not want to part ways with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship; it was taken from me, unfairly, unjustly. (Clips of his surgery, and him watching Roman Reigns winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 32 from the WWE Network Special on him are intertwined.) I mean, it consumed me. It was the fuel to my fire; it’s what got me up every morning. I’m obsessed with it; I got no problem stepping over him to get what I need. The thing with Roman is that, he’s just a ‘placeholder;’ he’s not a real champion. He sees himself as a ‘top dog;’ he’s just going to have to settle for being ‘second best.’ He’s the guy sitting on my throne, keeping it warm for me; and all I can think about is getting back my title; that’s all I want; I’m obsessed with it. A great man once said, ‘to be the man, you’ve got to beat the man.’ And Roman Reigns has never beat me for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. (Rollins’ return at Extreme Rules and Raw in May is shown.) It’s not my fault that Roman is a casualty on my path to success. I’ve been waiting for this moment, not just for the seven months that I’ve been out; we’re talking for two years. I want to prove to the entire world that I’m better than Roman Reigns, and at Money In The Bank that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”

Lana is in the ring and introduces her man, the United States Champion, Rusev.

Match #2: Single – United States Champion Rusev (with Lana) VS. Jack Swagger

(Note: Titus O’Neil is on commentary.) Rusev starts with a wasitlock-takedown, but Jack twirls out and punches a few times. Rusev reverses a whip and lands a spinning-heel kick for two! Rusev kicks Swagger in the corner, and hits him with a couple more. He clutches on a grounding hold, but misses a running splash in the corner. Swagger follows with a corner-clothesline and slams Rusev to the canvas! He sweeps up the U.S. Champ and manages to get him in the Patriot Ankle Lock; Rusev kicks away and goes to the outside.

Jack follows and both measure each other, then run and double-clothesline harshly! The referee begins the 10-Count as they slug it out, then Rusev pushes Jack into O’Neil; Rusev slides in just before the ten!

Winner via Count-Out: United States Champion Rusev (with Lana)

Post-match, both Titus and Jack attack Rusev until he escapes to the stage with Lana.

Segment #4: Arena Promo

John Cena is out to answer The Club’s challenge. He talks about the “moment” he and everyone felt when A.J. Styles and him stood face-to-face in the ring. John compares this to the time he and The Rock met five years ago; he asks The Club to come out and explain their actions.

A.J., Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows obliges. Styles leads on the mike, saying that Cena “insults” him every time John wrestles. “The Phenomenal One” puts his skills over as superior to Cena’s, but Cena isn’t pleased with A.J.’s verbal. He dresses down A.J. for using the same reason everyone else doesn’t like him and is upset that Styles has to go back to Anderson and Gallows for help. A.J. retorts that it is because of guys at Cena’s level who “bury” guys at A.J.’s; he calls Karl and Luke his “insurance policy.”

The Club walk to the ring and surround Cena, but Tag-Team Champions The New Day run out and make the save! It is announced that there will be a Six-Man between The Club and The New Day later!

He dominates Simon, splashing and slamming him. This breaks down, with English sliding Enzo out of the ring in the same way that caused Amore’s injury at Payback.

Big notices this and goes berserk on both Vaudevillians, making the referee call for the bell.

Winners via Disqualification: Enzo Amore and Big Cass

McMahon takes his advice, and calls marketing to book the bout.

Both go at it in and out of the ring to begin until Sami moonsaults off the corner of the barricade!

Del Rio is now in control, grounding Zayn with a chinlock. Sami works his way out of it and soars off the top turnbuckle with a crossbody, but Alberto kicks out and gives Zayn a backstabber. Del Rio measures for a kick, but Sami counters with a roll-up for two! Alberto hits the kick, but Sami manages to get his shoulder up! Zayn spins out of a Cross Armbreaker attempt and goes for the Helluva Kick about a minute later; Alberto moves and props Sami upon the top turnbuckle backward. He tries a move, but Zayn elbows away; Del Rio is able to put Sami upside down and jump off with the Double-Stomp for the victory!

Winner via Pinfall: Alberto Del Rio

Raw rating for 06/06/2016

With no major competition against it, Raw failed to gained advantage and was dragged down by a horrible third hour. This week’s Raw did 3,254,000 viewers in total, just 25,000 viewers more than last week’s show.

Hour one started with 3,371,000 viewers, followed by 3,490,000 in the second hour, and then the third hour dropped drastically to 2,903,000. That third hour number is the worst 10PM to 11PM showing since Raw moved to three hours in July 2012. Between hour two and hour three WWE lost 587,000 viewers. (Ratings credit: Showbuzzdaily.com)

Mark Hunt calls Lesnar a “pretender,” vows to knock his face off

So far Brock Lesnar has been very respectful about his UFC 200 opponent Mark Hunt and has not talked trash about him. The same cannot be said about Hunt, who said he’s ready to knock Brock’s face, mouth, and and lips off.

In a blog post on his website, Hunt said that he had no idea that he would be facing Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 and a few weeks ago the UFC told him to get ready for July.

“I’ll knock his face off. I knock his mouth off and then his lips fly off. If he has an itch to scratch I will scratch it for him. I ain’t no part-time fighter,” Hunt said, taking a dig at Lesnar and his part-time status as a wrestler.

“He thinks this is a game where he can come back and forth. I will send this pretender back so he can play house with the other part timers. This realm is for the real fighters, not these damn pretenders. Don’t confuse wrestling with real fighting. I’m going to give it to him,” Hunt added.

Former Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese to start training at WWE Performance Center

Former Germany national goalkeeper Tim Wiese has accepted a personal offer from Triple H to start his full-time training at the WWE Performance Center.

Wiese, who represented Germany between 2008 and 2012 and also was the keeper for Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim, will now relocate to Orlando to start working on his wrestling game.

“Tim is tenacious,” said Triple H. “He continues to be very vocal in his desire to prove that he has what it takes, and he has shown tremendous resilience and determination to create an opportunity for himself. This is his break to walk his talk. If all goes well in Florida, he will get his chance in the ring.”

In November 2014 Wiese appeared at the WWE live event in Frankfurt, Germany, and was the time keeper for the Usos vs Goldust and Stardust tag team match. After the match he celebrated with The Usos.

One of the challenges laid down by Triple H to the former goalkeeper is to get ring-ready for the upcoming WWE European tour which has four stops in his home country in November.

“I have been training hard for this, and I am excited for the opportunity,” Wiese said. “No matter what it takes, my goal is to be in that WWE ring this November. I want that match!”

Teddy Long makes surprise appearance on Raw

Holla holla! Former Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long made a surprise return on Raw last night and tried to make some whacky matches as only he could do!

Long appeared in the opening segment of the show between the Money In The Bank participants and showed his mic rust as he made a few mistakes while trying to get his point across. Stephanie McMahon interrupted his return and didn’t like that he called her a “baby girl.” Long eventually made other appearances throughout the show including suggesting the fatal 4-way tag match which Steph didn’t like…only to announce the match herself a few minutes later.

After pleading his case to run the live Smackdown again, Stephanie ejected Long out of the building.

Teddy Long had a long career with the WWE that started in 1998 as a referee. After a stint as a manager, he was given the Smackdown General Manager job and that of ECW. He was released from his contract in June 2014 after a full year off television. He returned in October of that year to make an appearance at the 15th Anniversary of Smackdown to confront John Laurinaitis.

Fatal 4-way tag match for the WWE Tag Team titles at MITB

The WWE Tag Team titles will be on the line at Money In The Bank after Stephanie McMahon made a fatal 4-way tag match on Raw last night.

The current champs, The New Day, will be defending their titles against The Vaudevillains, Enzo and Big Cass, and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. The New Day are currently holding the longest reign with almost a full year as tag team champions.

This is the fourth match announced for the MITB card with under two weeks to go for the show. In related Money In The Bank news, it seems that WWE has decided to drop the 7th participant in the MITB ladder match and only six will be in the match – Zayn, Cesaro, Owens, Del Rio, Jericho, and Ambrose.

Paul Heyman interviews Brock Lesnar on UFC 200 return

Paul Heyman published a 7 minute interview with Brock Lesnar on his Heyman Hustle YouTube account that discusses why the beast incarnate wanted to return to the UFC.

“Why not?” Lesnar told his friend. Lesnar said he felt robbed by diverticulitis when he was in the UFC and he’s not coming back to avenge his losses to Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem, but to avenge the disease that almost killed him.

Lesnar said that he’s doing a full training camp and doing it the way he’s done them before – hiring a lot of people to go and live with him and do the camp on his farm. He said the same people who were in his corner before will be returning as they’re genuinely good people and has complete trust in them.

The former WWE and UFC Heavyweight champion said that his mind is 100% all in this one and feels more ready than ever before to step back in the cage. He said he was the one who called Dana White to be part of UFC 200 and he wouldn’t have done it if he didn’t feel that he’s completely healthy.

You can see the complete interview below.

WWE in talks to have UFC’s Paige VanZant appear at SummerSlam

PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE is in talks with UFC fighter Paige VanZant to appear at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view, an appearance which would be made possible due to Lesnar already being “loaned” to the UFC for UFC 200 and the “growing” business relationship between WWE and the UFC.

Mike Roberts, VanZant’s manager, confirmed to FOXSports.com that WWE has reached out to inquire about her appearing in some capacity following her successful stint on Dancing With The Stars where she placed second.

The popular 22 year old blonde Oregon native has a 6-2 MMA record and lost her last fight in the UFC in December 2015, a show she main evented with Rose Namajunas.

Paul Heyman conducts one-on-one interview with Brock Lesnar

Paul Heyman, the on-screen advocate and real-life best friend of Brock Lesnar has conducted a one on one interview with Brock Lesnar which will air tonight at 7PM EST.

The interview will be published on the Heyman Hustle YouTube account at YouTube.com/HeymanHustle and Heyman said that Lesnar opened up “like never before” and it was a “different” interview as both of them were blunt.

The interview will of course revolve around Lesnar’s decision to return to the UFC for one fight at UFC 200 and possibly what’s in the future for the mayor of Suplex City!
