The artist formerly known as Dakota Kai returned to pro wrestling yesterday, taking part in her first wrestling match since she was released from WWE in May of last year.
The match came against former AEW Women’s champion Kris Statlander for the EVE International title during the Wrestle Queendom 8 event promoted by Pro Wrestling EVE.
Her return did not bring a great result, as she lost to Statlander following several tombstone piledrivers.
Her last match was in March 2025 for WWE, spending most of the year on the shelf.
The 37-year-old from New Zealand is now wrestling under the name of Charlie.
It was a bad weekend for Mercedes Mone because apart from losing the CMLL Women’s title to Persephone on Friday, she also lost the BestYA Wrestling Women’s title in Italy yesterday.
The CEO wrestled Swan at the Mone Mayhem event, held in Bagnolo Cremasco, but was unsuccessful in retaining the indie belt, with Swan beating her cleanly with her finisher.
Mone, who has been on a break from AEW for the past several weeks, has a losing streak going on and lost five titles so far. She still has a few indie titles in her possession but it looks like she’s on a tour dropping titles everywhere.
She will be in France this weekend and in England the following week for Banger Zone Wrestling and RevPro respectively before heading to Canada later this month for Winnipeg Pro Wrestling.
Talking on the premiere episode of his new video game oriented podcast titled Phenomenally Retro, the retired AJ Styles spoke on what he is doing with WWE now that his in-ring career is over.
One of the main things on Style’s agenda is looking out for talent.
“I’m on the internet and I’m checking out talent because it’s kind of going to be part of my job with WWE now,” Styles said. “I’m looking for talent and I’m looking to see what I can do, if I can do anything for them, if they can get better, you know…little things like that.”
He said part of the job will be facilitating talent getting a WWE ID contract or another kind of developmental contract.
But that is not all, as another aspect of his role includes checking in with talent, talk with them, and see how they’re doing and what can be done better.
“I’m gonna go to Seattle for the next Monday Night Raw, talk with talent. Who knows, sometimes you need to talk to somebody to see how they’re feeling and maybe they want to go down to the PC and they wanna work on some stuff,” Styles added. “The morale, if I can help make sure it’s still there in a good way, I want to be that guy.”
The soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer recently signed a brand new deal with WWE which will see him remain with the company working in a backstage capacity for years to come.

Logan Paul’s $1 million boxing fight against NFL players is not happening after WWE put the brakes on Paul’s project.
The former United States champion claimed that no NFL player could beat him in a boxing match and made an offer of $1 million for a fight.
A couple of NFL players did respond to his open challenge, including Le’Veon Bell, Breiden Fehoko, Dion Dawkins, and Antonio Brown.
But during a live stream, Paul got a call from Chris Legentil, WWE’s Talent Relations & Head of Communications, who told Paul he’s going to have to stand down.
“Bro, I’m not going to get injured. These guys can’t box,” Paul told Legentil. “They’re football players. There’s no risk!”
Legentil brought up the risks of Paul getting injured and messing up the plans for WrestleMania and Paul tried to sweet-talk his way back in by trying to convince Legentil that he’s ready to cut WWE in his winnings.
“Because I’m going to make $2 million in a weekend,” Paul said.
“We’re good on the money,” Legentil replied. “We just would prefer you not to be boxing.”
Paul eventually agreed to abort his mission and said that at the end of the day, he’s a WWE Superstar and his loyalty is with WWE.
“If I do not have their blessing to do some extracurricular activities that are unrelated to the WWE, like boxing, as much as I would love to do it, I got to honor my job and my commitment to my profession,” Paul said.
He later posted on X, “Welp. The bosses called. Turns out I’m too valuable of a WWE Superstar to be fighting bums.”
He congratulated Bell and Fehoko for their “15 minutes of relevancy” and told them to go back to “being broke and retired.”

Mexican media is reporting that Konnan, who works with AAA, was hospitalized in San Diego and had his leg amputated over the past few days and is in a risk of losing his other leg as well.
The news, originally broken by El Planchitas of Record Mexico, have not been confirmed by anyone close to the Mexican legend so far.
The 62-year-old popular star, who is now part of the AAA creative team, has been battling health issues for a while although it is still unclear what led to the amputation.
Throughout his storied career, Konnan worked for ECW, WCW, AAA, and even briefly for WWF as Max Moon.
A user on X by the name of @rawaftermania40 is claiming that he already paid $250 to a bot service to increase the dislikes on the WWE YouTube video of Cody Rhodes winning the WWE title from Drew McIntyre on Smackdown.
Asked by another user to get it over a million dislikes, he replied, “Thats gonna cost me a lot lol. It already took 250$ to bot 65k dislikes.” He also posted a photo of the bot service dashboard targeting that particular video.
The video, watched over 1.2 million times already, currently has 150,300 dislikes and the same user replied to another query saying that will increase.
“You’re welcome. Already paid for a 100k more tomorrow,” he added.
The account of @rawaftermania40 was disabled after his posts went viral.
The AEW National title will be defended on the Zero Hour portion of the Revolution show next week.
Ricochet, the current champion, will put his title on the line in a 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal. AEW has not revealed any of the names who will be part of this match yet.
Zero Hour will not air on linear television this time around and will stream on HBO Max, AEW’s YouTube channel, and other company social media properties.
Three WWE Superstars will be involved in the four-way match to determine the number one contender for the AAA Mega title at the Rey De Reyes event next week.
Through a series of qualifying matches, Santos Escobar, El Grande Americano, El Grande Americano Original, and AAA’s La Parka all made it through to the tournament final and will now battle each other for a shot at the title.
The AAA Mega title will be defended by Dominik Mysterio against El Hijo del Vikingo n the same show in a no disqualification match, with the stipulations that if Mysterio wins, Vikingo cannot challenge for the title again as long as he remains champ and if Vikingo wins, Mysterio must leave AAA.
Rey De Reyes will be taped in full on March 14 at the Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla de Zaragoza, Puebla, but will air over three weeks. The two matches mentioned in this story will both take place on the first week live broadcast.
The feud between Toni Storm and Marina Shafir will climax at the upcoming Revolution pay-per-view later this month.
On Collision last night, Storm challenged Shafir for a one-on-one match with the stipulation that everyone is banned from ringside, a challenge which Shafir accepted.
The two have been at it for several months and previously had two matches against each other, with Storm coming out victorious on both occasions. Their latest feud kicked off at the Blood & Guts event, with Shafir attacking Storm’s bestie Mina Shirakawa and forcing Storm to surrender to save her.
Here are the results from last night’s NXT Vengeance Day 2026 premium live event which took place from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Blake Monroe defeated Jaida Parker in a street fight; Tony D’Angelo defeated Dion Lennox; Tatum Paxley defeated Izzi Dame to become the new NXT Women’s North American champion; Lola Vice defeated Kelani Jordan in an NXT Underground match; Joe Hendry defeated Ricky Saints to retain the NXT title.
Jordynne Grace injured her right ankle during the Main Event tapings prior to Smackdown yesterday while wrestling Alba Fyre.
The injury came after Grace was whipped into the corner but tried to leap over Fyre using the assistance of the ropes, only to land badly on her ankle, twisting it upon impact.
“My ankle glitched irl,” Grace wrote on X, posting a video of the exact moment of the injury.
The referee held up the X hand signal to report a legit injury and the match was stopped, giving Fyre the win. Grace was attended to in the ring and then helped to the back, where Chelsea Green’s wheelchair came in handy.
“Well, at least there was already a wheelchair waiting,” she added, posting a photo sitting in the wheelchair next to Chelsea Green.
Matt Cardona saw the funny side of it, as Grace was wearing a shirt of Cardona earlier in the day.
“@JordynneGrace wears a shirt with Zack Ryder on it today. Ends the night in a wheel chair. And they say @DanhausenAD curses people,” he wrote.
Grace also posted photos on crutches with Green, saying that Green followed her around to document them being “ankle sisters,” while also pointing out the fact that her ankle looked pale in comparison to her fake tanned body.
Live tonight from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, WWE presents NXT Vengeance Day. The full card is as follows:
Joe Hendry vs Ricky Saints for the NXT title; Izzi Dame vs Tatum Paxley for the NXT Women’s North American title; Lola Vice vs Kelani Jordan in an NXT Underground match; Jaida Parker vs Blake Monroe in a street fight; and Tony D’Angelo vs Dion Lennox.

The Countdown to Vengeance Day kicks off at 6PM ET and airs on the WWE YouTube channel as well as on the company’s social media properties. The actual PLE starts at 7PM ET and airs on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix everywhere else.
Two sets of tag teams were named number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team and WWE Women’s Tag Team titles last night on Smackdown.
Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair will get another shot at the titles after they beat WWE Women’s United States champion Giulia and Kiana James, with Flair pinning Giulia for the victory. They will face The Irresistible Forces at a later date.
Also, the random tag team of former Judgment Day members Damian Priest and R-Truth beat The Motor City Machine Guns, Fraxiom, Los Garza, and The Wyatt Sicks in a gauntlet match to earn a future title shot against the MFTs. Priest and Truth beat Los Garza in the final match after Tama Tonga interfered to cause Wyatt Sicks to lose their portion of the match against Los Graza.
The e-mail issued to German, Austrian, and Japanese subscribers to the WWE Network announcing that all WWE programming will move to Netflix on April 1 was retracted.
While the WWE Network will shut down in the remaining countries that it airs at the end of this month, those in Germany, Austria, and Japan will continue to watch WWE on their regular TV for the time being.
Sebastian Hackl and Manu Thiele, the German commentators for WWE, both confirmed that Raw, Smackdown, and NXT will remain live on Bild while the replays are on ProSieben MAXX. The premium live events will continue on ProSieben MAXX as well. These agreements will run for a couple of more years so there’s no chance of WWE moving to Netflix there until they run out.
In Japan, ABEMA will continue to air all WWE programming with zero changes as well.
Professional wrestling thrives on extremes, and nothing illustrates that more vividly than a 5’6″ competitor locking up with a 7-foot monster. These mismatches are deliberate booking choices, engineered spectacles designed to amplify ring psychology, crowd reaction, and long-term storytelling in sports entertainment.
What analysts and fans rarely discuss is how wrestler height disparities directly reshape match psychology, pacing, and the perception of in-ring dominance. The smaller wrestler fights for credibility while the larger one risks looking clumsy. Getting that balance right is an art that only the most experienced performers and bookers consistently execute at the highest level.
Why Do Height Gaps Create the Most Memorable Wrestling Moments?
Height disparity in wrestling functions like visual shorthand. Before a single move lands, the audience has already formed an opinion about who should win, making it the perfect setup for an upset. Fans have long tried to measure these gaps, from eyeballing screenshots to digging through stat sheets.
What Makes the Top 10 Height Differences so Visually Striking?
These pairings stand out because the height gap goes beyond what audiences expect, and both performers had the ring awareness to turn each size mismatch into one of wrestling’s most memorable visual rivalries. Here’s a closer look at the matchups that created the most jaw-dropping visual contrasts in professional wrestling history:
1. Giant Gonzalez vs. The Undertaker
According to easyheightcomparison.com, a visual height comparison site, Giant Gonzalez suffered from gigantism. He was billed at 8’0″, though his true height was 7’7″, making him the tallest man to compete in WWE history. Against the Undertaker’s 6’10” frame at WrestleMania IX, the matchup produced one of the most visually extreme size-contrast moments ever aired on pay-per-view.
2. Andre the Giant vs. Hulk Hogan
André the Giant, billed at 7’4″ and weighing over 500 pounds at his peak, was dubbed “The Eighth Wonder of the World” for undeniable reasons. Against Hogan’s 6’7″ frame at WrestleMania III inside the Pontiac Silverdome, the camera work and Andre’s controlled pacing amplified the visual contrast, producing what many consider wrestling’s most iconic size matchup.
3. The Great Khali vs. Rey Mysterio
The Great Khali stands at 7’1″ and is one of the tallest superstars of the modern era. Paired against Rey Mysterio, who is officially billed at 5’6″, that produces a gap exceeding 19 inches. Mysterio’s sheer survival in those matches instantly generated crowd sympathy, an emotional investment that required no additional storyline setup to feel authentic.
4. Big Show vs. Rey Mysterio
Big Show’s 7’0″ frame against Mysterio’s 5’6″ billing created a disparity so visually dramatic that commentary struggled to contextualize it. The moment Mysterio attempted his signature 619 finishing move on a seated Big Show became one of the most shared WWE highlights ever recorded, still referenced by fans searching for the most visually improbable spots in wrestling history.
5. Omos vs. AJ Styles
Standing at 7’3″, Omos towered over tag partner AJ Styles (billed at 5’11”) by 16 inches. Styles’ exceptional selling made every Omos power sequence appear absolute and unstoppable, and their partnership worked precisely because the visual contrast told the entire story before either man spoke a word.
6. Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
Nine inches separated Undertaker (6’10”) and Shawn Michaels (6’1″) on paper, but entrance presentation and camera staging consistently made the gap appear even more pronounced to television audiences. Michaels’ unmatched ability to bump made every Undertaker offensive sequence look catastrophically powerful. Their two WrestleMania encounters are still cited as mechanical masterclasses built directly around size contrast as emotional storytelling.
7. Braun Strowman vs. Sami Zayn
Seven inches between Braun Strowman (6’8″) and Sami Zayn (6’1″) sounds modest until Strowman’s 385-pound frame enters the equation and reframes the entire dynamic. The weight disparity recontextualizes the height gap entirely, transforming every Zayn near-fall into a legitimately earned underdog moment against what appears to be an immovable force.
8. Brock Lesnar vs. Rey Mysterio
Lesnar at 6’3″ and 286 pounds against Mysterio’s billed 5’6″ created a 9-inch gap amplified enormously by mass. Lesnar’s explosive power style meant every Rey Mysterio offensive sequence had to be earned through raw speed and ring positioning, a speed-versus-power dynamic that kept the live crowd in constant suspense throughout their rivalry.
9. Kane vs. Rey Mysterio
Kane’s 7’0″ frame against Mysterio’s 5’6″ billing represents one of the most frequently revisited size matchups across multiple WWE eras. Their recurring encounters across different WWE storylines proved that a 19-inch height gap reliably generates audience reaction regardless of era, cementing Kane vs. Rey Mysterio as one of the most consistently effective size-contrast rivalries in roster history.
10. Mark Henry vs. Rey Mysterio
Henry, at 6’1″, combined with approximately 400 pounds at his peak, made every exchange with Mysterio feel genuinely dangerous. Their recurring encounters across different WWE storylines proved that a 19-inch height gap reliably generates audience reaction regardless of era, cementing Kane vs. Rey Mysterio as one of the most consistently effective size-contrast rivalries in roster history.
Your Questions? Answered
Does a bigger height difference always produce a better match?
Not automatically. Without strong in-ring collaboration from both performers, even the most dramatic size gap can undermine match quality rather than enhance it. The best height-mismatch matches succeed because both wrestlers invest in making the physical contrast feel credible and emotionally resonant throughout.
Which height difference reads as most dramatic on broadcast television?
Anything exceeding 15 inches. Camera work compresses gaps slightly, so 15-inch-plus matchups are the ones that consistently retain visual impact on screen.
Do WWE height listings accurately reflect real measurements?
Rarely. Billed heights typically run two to four inches above actual measurements, inflated deliberately to amplify the visual spectacle of larger competitors.
What Fans Can Learn From How Promoters Use Height Strategically?
How promoters book size matchups in professional wrestling is a deliberate craft, not a coincidence of roster construction, but a calculated strategy to maximize crowd reaction and pay-per-view buyrates. Pairing extremes on the size spectrum creates an instant narrative framework that even a first-time viewer can decode without knowing either performer.
The principle is clear: any context where one competitor appears physically outmatched triggers an immediate psychological response, the instinct to root for survival against impossible odds. Wrestling perfected this formula by making it repeatable across weekly television and pay-per-view events, which means that crowd reaction, however authentic it feels in the moment, is the result of deliberate, long-term size-contrast booking.
Dynamite this week drew 650,000 viewers, up 17,000 viewers from last week’s broadcast and the fourth most-watched show of 2026 so far. This episode had a 0.12 rating in 18-49, up 0.02 from the prior week and was #10 on the top 50 cable chart for the night. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider)
Grammy Award winning artist Jelly Roll will be appearing on next week’s episode of Smackdown live from Phoenix, Arizona.
Roll appeared on the show yesterday via video, congratulating Randy Orton on his Elimination Chamber win and also wishing luck to Cody Rhodes in his match against Drew McIntyre.
The popular star teamed up with Randy Orton at SummerSlam last year, although his first match ended in a loss when they got beat by Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre attacked Jelly Roll during one of the events leading up to SummerSlam, so him wishing Rhodes luck played into that as well.
Mercedes Mone continued to shed her title belts and lost the CMLL Women’s title against Persephone yesterday in the main event of the La Noche de la Amazonas event.
Persephone managed to get the best out of Mone after an almost 19-minute match, winning clean after a frog splash. During the match, Mone also ended up showered with beer courtesy of some individuals at ringside. Perhaps it was some revenge after Mone put on a lucha mask at the beginning of the match, taunted the fans, and gave them the double finger followed by a DX crotch chop.
Following the match, the whole CMLL women’s locker room emptied to celebrate with the new champion.
This ended Mone’s 209-day reign as CMLL Women’s champion. She won it from Zeuxis at the Grand Slam: Mexico show in June of last year.
It is Persephone’s first run with the title. Persephone is also part of the AEW roster with a dual CMLL/AEW contract.
