Dakota Kai returns to the ring after a year out

The artist formerly known as Dakota Kai returned to pro wrestling yesterday, taking part in her first wrestling match since she was released from WWE in May of last year.

The match came against former AEW Women’s champion Kris Statlander for the EVE International title during the Wrestle Queendom 8 event promoted by Pro Wrestling EVE.

Her return did not bring a great result, as she lost to Statlander following several tombstone piledrivers.

Her last match was in March 2025 for WWE, spending most of the year on the shelf.

The 37-year-old from New Zealand is now wrestling under the name of Charlie.
