Candice Michelle talks new TNA job, WWE Diva Search contest, Melina, and more

Candice Michelle sat down with Chris Van Vliet in Austin, Texas to discuss her journey to WWE via the Diva Search and becoming the first Diva Search contestant to win the Women’s Championship, her match with Beth Phoenix that had a terrifying ending, life after wrestling, what her current role is in TNA, Melina having real heat with her, the story behind her magic wand and more!

I had seen the word online that you were working with TNA.

“Yeah, Tommy Dreamer called me and he offered me a spot as an agent.”

So did that just start this year?

“It did. It started in January, which was my first show, and he was so funny. He’s like, come and shadow me the first weekend, and the next weekend you’ll be an agent. All I can think about is that it’s wrestling, you know, we’re gonna see if you’re going to survive or not, and if you can do it or not and throw them to the wolves. I was like, Okay, let’s go.”

So is this just a backstage role, or are we going to see Candice Michelle making an appearance on TV?

“I think that this initial call was my hope spot, and I think it’s going to lead into my comeback.”

Are you open to wrestling another match?

“I was at WrestleCon, and I was doing an appearance, my promoter had Dustin [Rhodes] on, and somebody said, ‘Go up to him and tell him how you want to wrestle again.’ I’m just listening to this voice, like, really? Maybe it’s because I’m at WrestleCon, you know, you see all the wrestlers, you kind of get the itch, you’re kind of in it a little bit. I was going to the Hall of Fame that year to watch Michelle [McCool] be inducted. I go over to him, I was like, ‘Hey, I know you have a school in Texas, and I think I have the itch.’ He’s like, what? I don’t know if she really does. Then to come to December and get this call from Tommy Dreamer, I was like, I just feel it coming. I don’t know when it’s coming, but it’s coming.”

So this match with Beth Phoenix. What happens?

“Well, we were overseas, and we were putting together this match, and this is when Arn Anderson and Ricky Steamboat started to really train me. So you see how really towards the end of my wrestling career is when I really felt like I was getting the knowledge. It was the first time I understood that there’s a philosophy to the match. I literally had no idea. I was never taught it or anything. There was something in me and Beth that resonated with Ricky and Arn Anderson, and they really stepped up to the plate, and they said, This is how you got to start working this. The fans were really getting behind us, and overseas, we’re having these great matches, and we had this move where it was supposed to be, you know how you open your legs on the top rope and fall in. I guess I’m not that flexible. I think about it to this day. I just saw somebody on TNA do this move, and I was like, yeah, that’s not for me. So I was like, I’ll do my knees instead. That’s a little less flexible. And overseas, I did it one time, and I came back, and all the boys were worried because I landed on my neck. I didn’t feel it. It didn’t phase me. I was not injured. I wasn’t hurt, and so I didn’t really think much of it. But we’re on like a 7 to 10 day tour over there, not much sleep. We fly back to Nebraska. We’re going to kind of do this match again, and my boot catches that rope, and I wasn’t allocated that little extra space, and I landed on my head.”

Did you get knocked out?

“I was knocked out. I don’t remember it. The first thing I remember is being on the stretcher, and Stephanie McMahon was leaning over me, and they’re going into Gorilla, and she goes, ‘Don’t worry, we’re flying your husband out.’ I was like, they don’t fly your husband out [unless it’s serious]. So instantly, I was worried. I had a concussion and I broke my collarbone. It came at a time where we weren’t really educated with that kind of injury, and so being dragged to the center of the ring after that happened, if that was my neck, it would have paralyzed me.”

WWE pays tribute to Chuck Norris

WWE paid tribute to actor Chuck Norris, who sadly passed away at the age of 86 today.

The very popular pop culture icon had a WWE connection, albeit a very short one a long time ago as Norris had served as the special enforcer for The Undertaker vs Yokozuna casket match at Survivor Series 1994, even getting physical by flattening Jeff Jarrett with a roundhouse kick to help Taker win the match.

Norris, whose memes are all over the Internet, was mostly known for his role in Walker Texas Ranger and other action movies such as Delta Force.

The Oklahoma native was rushed to a hospital while in Hawaii where he passed away.

NXT this week drew 588,000 viewers, up 47,000 viewers from last week’s record low. This was the second least-watched episode of NXT of 2026 so far. In 18-49, NXT had a 0.07 rating, down 0.01, and the lowest number so far. The show went up head-to-head with the World Baseball Classic, NCAA, and NBA, which dented its viewership pretty badly. Ricochet and wife Samantha Irvin get death threats following MS post on X

Ricochet’s wife, former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin, has posted several death threats she received on her social media in the fallout from Ricochet’s post on X where he told a fan that he’s glad she got MS.

While Ricochet has since deleted the post and apologized for his remarks, fans continued to harass both individuals.

“I will kill you and kill your stupid husband,” one threat read, followed by another which reads, “He’s getting f*cking killed he’s f*cking dead that’s written.”

Another post issued a warning what’s going to happen to her husband.

“Good morning just wanted to briefly let you kno the comments that came from baldy something bad is going to happen respectfully tell him watch his back,” the threat said. “Your to beautiful looking to be with some moron like baldy.”

Another death threat said that they will cut her body into pieces and throw it in the river “because your husband is a vile racist.”

“See you soon, you whore. I will cut off your damned head,” the same message continued.

Dennis Rodman to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026

ESPN’s Senior NBA insider Shams Charania is reporting that basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026 next month as part of the WrestleMania 42 weekend.

Rodman, a legend in the NBA and one of the Chicago Bulls’ most popular players, worked extensively with WCW between 1997 and 1999, joining the nWo. He wrestled multiple times for the promotion and even helped Hulk Hogan win the WCW title.

Perhaps the most infamous match was when he was teaming with Hulk Hogan to take on Diamond Dallas Page and fellow basketball star Karl Malone, a match which generated headlines for all the wrong reasons. He was also fined by the Chicago Bulls for missing practice during the 1998 NBA Finals to continue his wrestling duties.

The last time Rodman appeared on a wrestling television show was for AEW, accompanying The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn to the ring at All Out in 2023.

The 64-year-old joins Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, and Demolition as part of this year’s class.

The WWE Hall of Fame takes place on Friday, April 17 from the Dolby Theater in Las Vegas.

The Bella Twins talk WWE Women’s Tag Team title shot and retirement

On yesterday’s episode of SiriusXM’s The Nikki and Brie Show, Nikki and Brie Garcia open up about stepping into the ring to wrestle for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship for the first time ever.

Nikki Garcia reveals that she and Brie will likely retire after their two-year WWE contract is up and shares her hopes for their final run. The twins also discuss their nerves and preparation for their upcoming title match, how they’d like to be remembered and much more.

Nikki & Brie Garcia open up about nerves & pressure of title match (2:02-3:27)

Brie Garcia: How do you feel right now?

Nikki Garcia: You know, I feel a lot of things. Being here for the past year, I’ve gotten to know how these women in this era work and I have learned and have understood the incredible competition it is in this era on both these shows, so you know, that puts a lot of pressure on of all of a sudden getting a title match so quickly. It creates a lot of nerves. You know, it also has made my head just spin. I mean, I was telling you earlier day when we were on a power walk, I haven’t been sleeping the past few nights because I wake up right at 3 a.m., it’s usually at 3 or 3.30, and I’m just like thinking of all these things and thinking of things. “Okay, this is how we can take them out,” because I mean, also Nia Jax, Lush Legend are no joke, I mean, strong tag team, but you and I are built in tag team. We are a tag team that was born together and it’s incredible, and so my mind’s been racing and I’m thinking of all these things and how to be as prepared as possible as going in, so it’s been a lot of emotions, but incredible emotions.

Brie Garcia: For sure. I mean, there is a difference between when you see mental strength and physical strength, but both are very powerful and chemistry, you know, is a powerful thing. Alignment and there’s something we’ve been together since the womb, since we were tiny little embryos.

Nikki Garcia says she & Brie will retire after their two-year WWE contract is up & shares hopes for their final run (18:57-20:46)

Nikki Garcia: For me, I don’t think you and I will ever get that last retirement moment that John got and AJ Styles got, let’s be honest, the men get, right? I don’t think you and I will ever get that, but I would love to have that because I do know that the contract that we signed, you know, we signed a two-year deal starting Royal Rumble and for you and I, the talks we’ve had and what I know just where I’m at, that’s it. That will be the end for me and for us and I would love, because I need the buttons on things, right? I would love to have them on. I would love to put my kicks, my snapback, my jersey right in the middle of that ring and just give that final bow, so I don’t know if we’ll ever get that. I don’t think we will, but is that what you were?

Brie Garcia: Yeah, I mean, if that’s what you want out of this all. Yeah.

Nikki Garcia: Well, I just want to have such a great iconic final run. A final run that you and I look back on and we’re so proud of. I want the Bella Army to be stronger than ever and you see them. They’re still there. They’re so strong, and it’s been so fun seeing new Bella Army, old Bella Army, Bella Army that’s had kids now that have shown up and they’re now Bella Army and I just want to have this like, I want to have some of my best matches. I want to have a lot of fun, but I want to have an iconic moment where it’s like, I could look back and go, “Damn, that was a great two years. We did it.” I don’t want to walk away with any what ifs. I don’t want to like, “If I only did.” I don’t want any of that. I want to look back at these past two years that we’re about to create and be like, “Damn, girl. We did it.”

The Nikki & Brie Show hosted by Nikki & Brie Garcia is available anytime on the SiriusXM app. New episodes every Monday and Thursday. Listen to the full episode here.

Chris Masters talks Master Lock, John Cena, never winning a WWE title, and more

Former WWE Superstar Chris Masters sat down with Chris Van Vliet at West Coast Creative Studio in Hollywood, California to discuss making his WWE debut at such a young age, having one of the best physiques in pro wrestling history, never winning a championship in WWE, being the first wrestler to be put in the STFU by John Cena, his pec dance to Crazy Train when Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne hosted Raw, fans calling him “Sexy Jesus”, and more!

I don’t think it’s talked about enough that you were only 22 when you made your WWE debut, looking as jacked as you did. I think because you had that much muscle, people assumed [you were older]:

“I was 21. I know that because I was turning 22 when I worked the Elimination Chamber. That’s how that always stands out to me. So I definitely didn’t look my age. I think most of the guys didn’t even treat me like I was my age because of that. I was a kid. It was me, Muhammad Hassan and Renee Dupree, just a few young guys amongst a locker room of men that most of us kind of grew up watching. So yeah, I just think most of them just kind of treated me like I was a grown man, when really, I was a kid. If you think, because when I do seminars, or even just indies, I’ll see guys who were right around that age, and they still look like kids. So I’m like well, that was me. I was that age too. I just looked older. It doesn’t mean I was necessarily more mature or had any kind of wisdom or anything like that at point.”

Do you feel like you were ever close at any point in time in WWE to winning a championship?

“There was a point. I mean, Carlito and me were supposed to win them at that WrestleMania, but it literally got switched like the day before. We were penciled in to win it. But then Carlito, they wanted him to turn baby and The Spirit Squad, they kind of wanted to get the belts on them somehow, to give them some steam, so that was that. Then the Intercontinental title. I was actually supposed to win that, but it was the same point where they had given me intervention for my prescription painkiller abuse at the time. They even told me, I remember having the meeting with Johnny [Ace], and because there was a four way match that night, it was in Vegas for the Intercontinental title that I was slated to win. But then they caught wind of the issues I had, and I had an intervention, and basically told me you’re going to rehab. I screwed that. So tag belts, I had no control over that just happened. IC, I f’d up. There was a point there, because you can even watch back to those old Raws where Vince was playing with the idea of making me the youngest champion. But, you know, he was feeling out a lot of guys at that point. I’m pretty sure Cena gave me probably the thumbs down at some point.”

Didn’t Cena give you the very first STFU?

“Yes, and it was a shoot STFU. I mean, again, I’m not saying that Cena was purposely doing it to shoot on me. I used to think sometimes with Cena, he got so fired up in the moment that he wouldn’t even know his own strength type of thing. So, yeah, he did it to me for a shoot. You’ll see my face starts turning red, I start trying to get it a little bit looser. I’m pretty sure that I heard later on that he was working with Kurt, and Kurt had to tell him to loosen it up a little bit. But Kurt with his neck issues and stuff. But my Master Lock could be kind of brutal sometimes with guys, because I didn’t really know how to work it either. So sometimes when I look back at those videos and I look at me putting on Kurt, I’m kind of like, oh man, I was probably rougher with him than I needed to be. Because when you’re that green, you don’t know how to shake spirit as much. You do stuff a little more real than you have to. I can remember, actually, there was a time with Shane Helms, we were working at a live event, and I Master Locked him, I guess, way too hard. So I released the Master Lock, they ring the bell, the match is over, and he gets up, and I think he tells me to f off, and just walks off. I’m not even saying it to heel on him, I was too stiff, I didn’t know how to work it, and it became a big drama with everybody, because then it was like, you know, he no sold the hold, I’m obviously doing it too rough, and I know that too. Because with Shelton, one time, he was telling me, I was about to pass out. I mean, if it’s too tight, some of the guys were so broad here that it’d be so tight that it would be tough, because you start twerking their neck from the start. [It’s a legit hold] You’ll pass out, cuts off the blood flow, and you’ll go out.”

Who is it the hardest to put the Master Lock on?

“Probably, Bobby [Lashley]. Just look at his build. I mean, I say that just because I remember just holding that thing for a long time on anybody can be kind of tough. I’m saying not for 20 seconds, but like with Bobby, it was hard, you know, because by the time I got it around his neck, it was probably not even fully locked in, just because he was so kind of broad up here.”

Tony Khan-led company bid $6.9 billion for WWE in 2023

AEW logo

Court documents in the ongoing TKO shareholder lawsuit revealed that a company called Base 10, headed by AEW President Tony Khan, bid $6.9 billion for WWE during its sale process in 2023.

The information was published by Brandon Thurston or Wrestlenomics for a story on POST Wrestling.

Base 10 was incorporated in 2014 and lists Tony Khan as its sole owner, with the address registered at the stadium of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the NFL team owned by his father.

It was noted that the offer by Base 10 was the lowest offer WWE received. There were three other bidders for the company, including Liberty Media, the owners of Formula 1, a private equity firm named KKR, and the eventual winners, Endeavor.

All parties except Base 10 were given additional and non-public information about WWE during the sale process, likely because of their superior offers.

WWE shareholders are suing because they feel that Endeavor was pre-selected as the winning bid by Vince McMahon and other offers were not given the same importance which could have led in a higher payout.

Both Liberty Media and KKR offers were similar and could have surpassed Endeavor’s winning bid.

The documents also reveal that despite several rumors at the time, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia never made any offers to purchase the company.

3:16 Day moves more WrestleMania 42 tickets at a discounted price

WrestleMania 42

Ticket tracking service @WrestleTix is reporting that WWE moved almost 4,000 more tickets for WrestleMania during their 3:16 Day with 31.6% discounts on each ticket.

@WrestleTix reported that 1,905 additional tickets were sold for WrestleMania Saturday while WrestleMania Sunday had 2,217 tickets sold on Monday.

With these numbers, Saturday would be around 39,500 and Sunday stands at 40,500 with four weeks to go.

Despite having a lower attendance so far than last year, WWE is expected to break the gate record due to higher prices, even taking in consideration the multiple discounts offered throughout the past few months.

Leila Grey undergoes surgery to repair torn ACL

AEW star Leila Grey underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL.

Grey suffered the injury late last year during a match against Mercedes Mone for the TBS title at a Collision taping.

The reason why it took her four months to go under the knife is because she was told to hold off until she had a better range of motion in her knee.

“Hey guys. I finally had my knee surgery yesterday. Everything went well,” she wrote on social media. “I’m home recovering and starting therapy tomorrow. Thank you all for the support during this time.”

Grey, with the help of a knee brace, participated in a WBFF Pro Fitness competition just a week after suffering the injury and won the WBFF Pro Fitness Diva category.

Nattie to wrestle at GCW Bloodsport XV during WrestleMania weekend

Bloodsport

Nattie is returning to Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, taking part in the upcoming Bloodsport XV event during WrestleMania week.

The Lowkey Legend has already wrestled twice for Barnett’s show before, beating Masha Slamovich and Miyu Yamashita.

“This veteran wrestler grew up on the mats, in the ring, and learned how fold people like laundry in The Dungeon. She had forged a career of victory, triumph, and championships,” wrote Barnett while announcing her participation. “Stepping into the ring of Bloodsport, she was like a Phoenix reborn out of the blood and guts that stain this mat, and showed the world who she is and always has been.”

Barnett added that Nattie is now walking to the ring “with no chip on her shoulder” and nothing to prove.

Bloodsport XV, promoted by GCW, will take place on Friday, April 17 live from the Horseshoe Las Vegas. Tickets available now.

AEW Tag Team title match announced for Dynasty 2026

The first match for the upcoming AEW Dynasty pay-per-view was announced last night on Dynamite.

The match will feature AEW Tag Team champions FTR defending their gold against the returning Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. This is their second match against each other after the Canadians defeated FTR at All Out last year, only for the current champs to be written off in a post-match angle which also involved Beth Copeland getting a spike piledriver.

Copeland and Cage came out on Dynamite to interrupt The Young Bucks who also wanted a shot at the titles, revealing they got first dibs at FTR.

FTR also showed up during the segment, but got beaten up by all four, with Copeland, Cage, and The Bucks holding the two titles together in a stare down before The Bucks eventually backed off.

Toni Storm pulled from planned No Holds Barred match on Dynamite

The planned Toni Storm vs Marina Shafir No Holds Barred match at last night’s Dynamite did not take place.

Minutes before the show started, AEW published footage on social media of Storm lying in a pool of blood in the locker room with Mina Shirakawa checking up on her.

When Dynamite kicked off, Tony Schiavone announced that Storm was not cleared to compete and the backstage attack was mentioned before the replacement match took place.

It was Storm’s close friend Shirakawa who replaced her in the No Holds Barred match, a match which the Japanese star won.

At this point it is unclear why Storm was pulled out of the match and what injury she is suffering from.

The angle with Ronda Rousey from Sunday was not followed up and the former WWE champion did not appear on TV.

The new series was oddly filmed in Paris, France between June 13 and July 1, 2025.
