Second surgery might be required for Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan made an appearance last night at the Money In The Bank kickoff show for an in-ring interview with Michael Cole. This was his first WWE appearance since being stripped of the WWE title earlier this month.

Bryan revealed that he doesn’t know when he will be back in action as the recovery is taking much longer than expected. Originally he was supposed to wrestle at this pay-per-view and then at the non-televised event at Madison Square Garden in July.

Bryan did not exclude another surgery and said he might need to go under the knife again for a minor surgery to correct the complications that are delaying his return to the ring.

Randy Orton suffers head injury during ladder match

Former WWE World Heavyweight champion Randy Orton suffered a nasty gash on his head during the ladder match and needed a total of 12 staples to close the wound.

The injury happened when the ladder accidentally dropped on his head and WWE medics had to tend to Orton at ringside to try and temporarily close the wound so he can resume the match. Eventually the first attempt to close it wasn’t very successful as Orton still bled heavily towards the final moments of the match.

“12 count em 12,” Orton wrote on his Twitter, along with a close up photo of the wound and the staples that were holding it shut.

The special, titled ‘Excuse Me! A Cougar Countdown,’ will air on Tuesday at 9PM EST following the Main Event broadcast. Bret Hart scheduled for July 7 RAW in Montreal

WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hit Man” Hart is scheduled to appear at the RAW in Montreal, Canada, on July 7, the site of the  Montreal Screwjob from the 1997 Survivor Series.

Hart is being promoted to appear on the Bell Centre website although it’s not clear if he will be making a televised appearance. There have been occasions where WWE Legends were advertised to appear in certain markets but only for post-show activities rather than being part of a storyline during the actual television show.

The advertised dark match is Cena, Reigns and Ambrose taking on Orton, Wyatt, and Rollins. Tickets are on sale now at evenko.com.

Two matches advertised for Battleground pay-per-view

The website of The Tampa Bay Times Forum, the site of the July Battleground WWE pay-per-view, is already advertising two matches for the show.

So far the two matches listed are Roman Reigns vs Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins, suggesting that Reigns and Orton will probably not be WWE champion come tomorrow night.

Daniel Bryan is not in the “scheduled to appear” part however his image is being used to promote the show along with Sheamus, Cena, and Orton.

Ticket prices are $25, $50, $75, $90, $300, and $400 and are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Tokyo Sports says KENTA has signed with WWE

Tokyo Sports at Tokyo-Sports.co.jp is reporting that former Pro Wrestling NOAH superstar KENTA Kobayashi has signed with WWE and the company is planning to officially introduce KENTA at the Ryogoku Kokugikan Hall during a press conference on July 12 when WWE is in town for their yearly Japan tour.

KENTA’s deal with Pro Wrestling NOAH expired in April but the promotion has refused to confirm that their star man is moving to WWE when pressed about the issue by Tokyo Sports.

In late January of this year, KENTA showed up at the WWE Performance Center and had a WWE tryout. Later he said that he was not looking after a WWE deal but rather he was there to “fulfill a dream” and take part in a WWE workout.

KENTA is 33 years old and made his professional wrestling debut in mid-2000. He wrestled for Pro Wrestling Noah from 2000 till 2014 and also did some work for Ring Of Honor.

Artwork for SummerSlam spoils MITB WWE title match result

Somebody at WWE or Amazon most likely jumped the gun and uploaded artwork for the SummerSlam 2014 DVD/Blu-Ray featuring Brock Lesnar and John Cena.

The image was eventually taken down since it pretty much spoiled the outcome of the upcoming Money In The Bank ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight title but as everything, once it’s on the Internet, it’s there (somewhere) forever.

Lesnar has been long rumored to be winning the title at SummerSlam, keeping it till WrestleMania where the “next big thing” would defeat the man who defeated the Undertaker’s streak.

John Cena vs Brock Lesnar has already been done with Cena going over. The match took place at Extreme Rules following WrestleMania 28, the first match for Brock Lesnar since his departure from WWE in 2004.

Obviously plans can change and Cena winning the WWE title this Sunday is not confirmed by any means.

Daniel Bryan to be interviewed at MITB kick off show

3 former WWE guys backstage at TNA New York Impact tapings

TNA’s return to New York City had some returns of familiar faces as well as former WWE Superstars visiting backstage.

Ezekiel Jackson and Snitsky were both backstage at last night’s tapings although none of them were used during the two tapings held back to back. TNA will tape more Impact today and a Destination X-themed Impact on Friday.

Meanwhile, Josh Mathews, who was released yesterday from WWE was also backstage at the show.

Banzai! Bound For Glory 2014 to be held in Tokyo, Japan

In a press conference held at the Manhattan Center in New York, TNA President Dixie Carter, along with legendary Japanese wrestler The Great Muta, announced that the company’s biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound For Glory, will be taking place in Tokyo, Japan.

This is probably one of the boldest, and most important, moves in TNA history as Bound For Glory is the company’s own version of WrestleMania and taking the show overseas could either work wonders or flop.

The 10th anniversary of the show will be held on October 12 at Korakuen Hall, a location which holds up to 2,000 fans. The Hall is a very popular location for wrestling shows in Japan. Team 3D, who were announced for the TNA Hall of Fame, will also be inducted in Japan during BFG weekend.

It will be interesting to see what time the show will be held. It will most likely not air live as 8PM EST on Sunday would be 9AM Japan time of the following day due to time difference while an 8PM Japan Sunday start time would be 7AM EST.

In the letter, Vickie revealed that her new career will be in medical administration, leaving behind 9 years of amazing memories with WWE. Her journey in the WWE was not easy and a lot of people helped her along the way. Guerrero thanked practically everyone, naming a lot of people including the agents, Edge, Tamina, Dolph Ziggler, Teddy Long, Michelle McCool, all the camera men, security, referees, arena people, commentators and everyone in between.

She thanked the Undertaker for giving her the greatest moment of all, a tombstone. “I am honored,” Vickie wrote. She also thanked Stephanie McMahon, saying that she is a true example of an independent, strong, and successful woman.

She had special thank yous to Vince and Linda McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and Mark Carrano.

“Eddie thought the world of you and loved you like a brother,” Vickie wrote about Carrano, who has been seen a lot of times on Total Divas dealing with the Divas.

She thanked Laurinaitis for always believing in her and for looking out for both her and Eddie for several years. “Thank you for your honesty and treating my daughters like your own,” she wrote.

And as far as the McMahons, Vickie wrote that she is grateful for the opportunity they gave her. “Vince, Eddie loved you like a dad! He had so much respect for you and it was always important to make you proud. Thank you for believing in me when I didn’t!”

Guerrero then signed off with her trademark catchphrase, “Excuse me.” You can read the full letter at here.

Josh Mathews released from WWE

WWE has released longtime announcer Josh Mathews today according to several sources, a hardworking individual who has served as backstage interviewer, announcer, commentator, and presenter/host.

The 33 year old was hired by WWE in 2002 after he came runner-up to the winners of the first ever Tough Enough competition. While he only wrestled a couple of times since his hiring, Mathews was all over television hosting the WWE International TV shows, and provided commentary for different shows including Heat, Smackdown, ECW, RAW, and Superstars.

Recently Mathews has been doing a lot of work for the WWE Network in pre and post shows and did the RAW pre-show just two days ago.

Bad News Barrett suffers shoulder injury at Smackdown tapings

Bad News Barrett might have just gotten some bad news himself as the current Intercontinental champion suffered an injury to his right shoulder during the Smackdown tapings yesterday.

The injury occurred when Jack Swagger threw Barrett into the barricade and according to WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann, Barrett told him that he felt a pop and immediate pain.

“We brought him back to the training room and the exam showed a separated shoulder. We’re going to do some additional testing this week and then sit down with him and talk about options for treatment for this injury,” Dr. Amann told WWE.COM.

Barrett is one of the seven participants in this Sunday’s Money In The Bank ladder match for the briefcase and as as of this time his involvement is up in the air.
