Mercedes Mone in four-woman tournament to crown NJPW Strong Women’s champion

New Japan Pro-Wrestling has announced a four-woman tournament to crown the inaugural NJPW Strong Women’s champion and Mercedes Mone is one of the four stars who will be participating.

Mone will be taking on CMLL’s Stephanie Vaquer in the semi final while Stardom’s Mono Kohgo will take on AEW’s Willow Nightingale in the other semi final.

The tournament will be held at the upcoming Resurgence show on Sunday, May 21 in Long Beach, California, with two women pulling double duty as both semi finals and final will be held on the same night.

Mone lost her IWGP Women’s title last weekend at the Stardom All Star Grand Queendom event against Mayu Iwatani.

Resurgence will air live on NJPW’s streaming service NJPW World.
