Cody Rhodes reacts to CM Punk’s ESPN interview, suggests he might been “misquoted”

Responding to CM Punk’s interview on ESPN, Cody Rhodes suggested that columnist Marc Raimondi “misquoted” Punk’s comments when he was asked about AEW presenting him an offer through a text message.

“I think he was misquoted. I know 1 of us had met with him in person, and yes I texted him plenty when we couldn’t connect on the actual phone, but not a contracted offer,” Rhodes wrote in a post on Twitter.

Adding to the saga, the AEW EVP even went as far to say that he would not be surprised if CM Punk eventually went back to WWE instead. “Regardless, great wrestler & guy. Door is open if he wants it.”

ESPN’S Raimondi also replied to Cody’s tweet, assuring him that he did his job correctly. “I promise you he was not misquoted,” he replied.
