Brian Kendrick removed from Dynamite after past “vile comments” resurface

Brian Kendrick’s AEW debut suffered a screeching halt last night after comments from videos dating back to 2011 resurfaced, forcing AEW President Tony Khan to pull him from his Dynamite debut match against Jon Moxley.

In videos recorded in 2011 and two years later in 2013, Kendrick said some nasty remarks regarding the Holocaust, Jewish people, and even the Sandy Hook mass shooting.

A Twitter user uploaded segments from one of the interviews and there was a bit of an uproar on social media before Khan intervened.

“We’ve been made aware of abhorrent & offensive comments made in the past by Brian Kendrick. There’s no room in AEW for the views expressed by Brian,” Khan tweeted. “We think it’s best for all that Brian be pulled from tonight’s card as we gather more info. We’ll announce a replacement bout ASAP.”

In comments released later, the former WWE Performance Center coach apologized for spreading “vile comments” back then.

“I apologize for all the hurt and embarassment I have caused with my words. These are not my beliefs and never were beliefs of mine, and I crossed the line,” Kendrick wrote on social media.

“I spread the most vile comments without thinking of the damage it would cause. I will live with this regret for the rest of my life. I am truly sorry for the pain I have caused.”

Kendrick requested his release from WWE last week and it was granted to him on Tuesday, quickly announcing that he would wrestling on Dynamite.
