AEW producer and creative writer Jimmy Jacobs resigns from company

AEW producer and creative writer Jimmy Jacobs has left the company according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling. Jacobs, who was touted as being one of Tony Khan’s closest writers, resigned from his position.

Jacobs was working with TNA Wrestling when AEW came knocking and he joined the backstage team in June 2023, lasting 16 months on the job. Prior to that, he worked for WWE in the same position but was fired from the company in 2017 after he posted a photo with The Bullet Club on social media when they were filming their own “invasion” of WWE Raw.

The former ROH Tag Team champion also laced up his boots one for Ring of Honor earlier this year, losing to Satnam Singh in under a minute. He had previously wrestled one more time for ROH in September 2023.

Jacobs continues to wrestle on the independent scene, with his latest match coming at the end of last month.
