Jerry “The King” Lawler returning to announcing in two weeks

It was announced on RAW that WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler will be making his return to WWE television in two weeks time for the RAW in Columbus, Ohio.

Lawler suffered a heart attack on the September 10 episode of Monday Night RAW live in Montreal, just around thirty minutes after he was involved in a tag team match. Lawler passed out while on commentary and WWE medics and EMTs rushed to saved his life. Lawler was eventually brought back to life backstage after he was shocked seven times with a defibrillator and WWE medic Mike Sampson was credited with saving his life after performing CPR immediately after the heart attack at ringside.

Earlier this month, The King made an appearance at the Smackdown tapings in his home town of Memphis, Tennessee, however his return was not shown on television and it was only for the fans inside the arena. WWE.COM later uploaded the video of the Memphis crowd welcoming back the wrestling legend.

Ever since Lawler has been out of action, Jim Ross has been filling his seat helping Michael Cole while occasionally being also joined by former WWE champion John “Bradshaw” Layfield at the commentary table.
