On the night her husband returned to the company, Zelina Vega won her first singles title in WWE, beating out Chelsea Green to capture the WWE Women’s United States title.
Vega’s odds were stacked against her due to the interference from the Secret Hervice, but eventually both Piper Niven and Alba Fyre were ejected from the match, allowing Vega to have a proper singles match.
She won the title with her finishing move, the Code Red, ending Green’s 131-day reign as the inaugural champion.
“Perseverance and hard work will always rise to the top,” Triple H wrote later on X, posting a photo with the new champion. “Congratulations @ZelinaVegaWWE on your first-ever WWE singles championship.”
