WWE signs Japanese female wrestler Kana

WWE has reportedly signed Kanako Urai, a 33 year old female Japanese wrestler who uses the ring name Kana, to a developmental deal.

She was sitting ringside at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn and was shown on television with Ric Flair and Sgt. Slaughter although WWE used the spelling of Kanna rather than Kana.

Kana has been wrestling since 2004 and worked for Pro Wrestling Wave, Smash, Reina Joshi Puroresu, and others before finding her way to the WWE.

She made her debut in the United States in 2011 working for Shimmer and Chikara.

The Osaka University of Arts Junior College graduate has been a writer for Xbox Magazine in Japan and also designs graphics for mobile games.
