WWE ends relationship with Full Sail University after 9 years

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that NXT tapings will not return to Full Sail University as WWE has terminated their relationship with the school.

WWE began using Full Sail University in 2012 and Full Sail Live has hosted the NXT television tapings and several TakeOver specials throughout the years as well as other tournaments such as the Mae Young Classic and Cruiserweight Classic. In addition, the partnership has resulted in hundreds of hours of practical production experience for more than 1,200 students, multiple career networking opportunities for students and grads, and WWE has granted more than $400,000 in scholarships to Full Sail University students, which are applied toward the recipient’s areas of study within the university.

In September 2019, WWE and Full Sail announced that they have expanded their partnership but in October 2020 it was decided to move all NXT tapings to the main Performance Center building which was completely changed from the inside and rebranded as the Capitol Wrestling Center.

The CWC will go under another fresh refurbishment now as Meltzer says the company is updating the look inside the venue to get away from the dark and dimmed look, with WWE adding more lights, color, and hopefully some extra life in the black and gold brand.
