A traditional five-on-five Survivor Series match was announced for the Smackdown on the eve of Survivor Series.

Set up on Smackdown, Sami Zayn will captain his team along with The Motor City Machine Guns, Rey Fenix, and Shinsuke Nakamura to take on Solo Sikoa, Talla Tonga, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and JC Mateo.

The original Survivor Series concept consisted of five-on-five or four-on-four teams in an elimination match, with the match continuing until each member of one team is completely eliminated.

You have to go back to 2021 for the last traditional Survivor Series match taking place on the PLE as the following year, WarGames was introduced as the main gimmick for the show.
