Men’s and women’s WarGames 2025 matches set up

The men’s and women’s WarGames matches were set up on Raw yesterday in two different ways.

The men’s match was set up first in a backstage segment between CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso. This was after Punk had a brawl in the ring with The Vision earlier and both Uso and Rhodes joined in to even the odds for Punk.

In the backstage segment, Punk complained to Raw GM Adam Pearce and told him that he was tired of these games. Pearce asked Punk if he’s thinking what he’s thinking and Punk called for William Regal, who entered the frame simply to scream “WarGames!”

The women’s match was set up after The Kabuki Warriors defeated Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team champions.

The heels, joined by Nia Jax and Lash Legend, beat up on Bliss and Flair and then Iyo Sky came out to somewhat clean house until she got clobbered in the face by Legend. As the heels regained control, Rhea Ripley returned – wearing a face mask due to a broken nose – and helped get the advantage. Ripley then grabbed the mic and also screamed “WarGames” at her opponents.
