Total Bellas S3 E6 episode recap: Once Again The Future Mrs. Cena

One would think that after calling off the wedding once, and then deciding that it was back on again, WWE Superstar Nikki Bella would be ready to just relax and enjoy all of the joy that weddings bring, but as we saw in this week’s episode, that’s just not how the Bellas do things.

Instead, this week the entire Bella clan engaged in what I’d like to call “the great down the aisle debate”. It seems that with all the drama Nicole hadn’t yet decided which member of her family would walk her down the aisle and give her away. Apparently, the Bella Twins have always had a rocky relationship with their father, so while dad usually the traditional choice to give away a bride he might not be the best one in Nicole’s case.

In my opinion, the next obvious choice would be for Nikki to have had her mom, Kathy, escort her down the aisle especially since Brie opted to have her father escort her mainly in order to repair their relationship.

Kathy was understandably hurt by Brie’s actions, and obviously hasn’t gotten over it judging by the comments she made to Brie while they were out shopping for her mother of the bride ensemble. While I understand that she was hurt I really think that Kathy shouldn’t have brought the subject up five years after Brie’s wedding. I think that Kathy’s bringing up the subject only put more pressure on Nicole to make her decision.

However, Kathy wasn’t the only family member who wanted to have the honor of escorting Nicole. Her brother JJ felt as though he should’ve been selected. Also, Nicole’s stepfather, Johnny, felt as though he was a father figure to Nicole in her career with the WWE. Brie felt as though Nicole should let her mother do it perhaps because of her own guilt at excluding her mother during her own wedding. Nicole even got herself into trouble by claiming that Johnny’s idea to walk her down the aisle was “perfect”. In Nicole’s head perfect translates to “cool idea”, unlike the agreement it would tend to indicate to the rest of the world.

I think what really sucks Johnny out of the running was the idea he came up with to have him and Nicole do a tap dance routine down the aisle I could see that ending in injuries for both parties which would completely ruin the wedding. In the end, though, Nicole chose to walk herself down the aisle in order to celebrate her own independence.

Meanwhile, Brie and Bryan tried to find time for themselves that they haven’t had since their daughter Birdie has been born. First, the couple tried to go on a tandem bike ride, but they were chased by fans wanting to take selfies. Personally, I think that fans should have a little more respect for wrestlers privacy when they aren’t performing, but maybe the fans figured that Brie and Bryan’s date was already being ruined by the film crew following them around, so their selfies would be relatively unintrusive.

Next, the couple decided to try their hand at goat yoga, a phenomenon in which people do yoga while surrounded by goats. This may have been a unique way of communing with nature if the goats had not started relieving themselves all over Brie and Bryan while they were trying to do yoga.

Finally, Brian decided to take Brie on a trip to their local botanical gardens, and even told the camera crew to give them a little privacy.

In other news, the Bella Twins brother JJ and his wife, Lauren, have found out the gender of their second child, it’s a girl. So it looks like there is going to be plenty of female drama for the Bella clan for years to come.
