Styles challenges Gunther at the Rumble, but Gunther wants a big stipulation attached

AJ Styles challenged Gunther for a match at the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, a match which Gunther rejected…unless Styles was ready to put his career on the line.

Kicking off Monday Night Raw from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Gunther addressed the crowd but was swiftly interrupted by Styles, who last week lost to Gunther in a one-on-one match.

Styles asked Gunther for another match, but the former two-time WWE World Heavyweight champion said he had no incentive to wrestle Styles again, and seeing that he had just declared himself for the Rumble match, he had no intention of doing double duty.

Styles reminder Gunther that last week he tapped out “like a little bitch” and if he’s scared, then they should move on.

Gunther said that there might be something that would tempt him to wrestle Styles, and that is if Styles agrees to put his career on the line.

The Austrian gave Styles till the end of the night to decide if that was a hill worth dying on.

AJ has repeatedly said that 2026 would be his last year as an in-ring competitor.
