Sting announces his retirement at the 2016 Hall of Fame ceremony

WWE Hall of Famer Sting officially announced his retirement at the ceremony much to the disappointment of the crowd who kept chanting “one more match.”

The retirement announcement was actually revealed by TMZ weeks ago who quoted sources close to Sting who said he will make the announcement at the Hall of Fame. Sting however refuted those claims a few days later in an interview with WWE.COM.

“The only thing that’s for sure about Sting is nothing’s for sure…until now,” Sting said at the ceremony, with fans immediately chanting “No No No.” He then proceeded to announce that he’s pulling down the curtain on his wrestling career under the WWE umbrella.

Sting then got his sunglasses and the baseball bat and said, “I just want you to know that this isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later.”

During his speech, fans kept chanting “one more match” and “Undertaker,” two chants that Sting chose to ignore and not address immediately.

Sting wrestled two matches under the WWE brand, first against Triple H at his only WrestleMania appearance and the WWE World Heavyweight title match against Seth Rollins at Night Of Champions, a match which ultimately ended his career.
