Smackdown the night before Backlash live from Puerto Rico as well

WWE announced that the Friday, May 5 episode of Friday Night Smackdown on the eve of Backlash will also take place live from Puerto Rico.

The José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum will now host two back-to-back WWE shows similar to what Bell Centre in Montreal did with Smackdown and Elimination Chamber.

“The PRCDA and the Puerto Rico Tourism Company have a phenomenal track record of delivering large-scale events to the island,” said John Porco, WWE Executive Vice President, Live Events. “Their partnership and support have allowed WWE to bring not just one – but two – nights of sports entertainment to Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot this May.”

Music superstar Bad Bunny will be hosting Backlash, the first premium live event from Puerto Rico since January 2005.
