Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt off TLC card, Kurt Angle back in the ring as illness strikes

Medical issues have led to WWE making some major changes for this Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view event.

WWE revealed on Friday afternoon that the planned 3-on-5 handicap match, where the Shield were to return to pay-per-view, will be altered slightly, as Roman Reigns has been forced to pull out of the card with illness. In his place will be WWE Raw GM Kurt Angle, wrestling his first match in over 18 months, and his first in a WWE ring since an ECW house show in August 2006.

Similarly, the planned match for Bray Wyatt – as “Sister Abigail” – against “The Demon” Finn Balor has also been scrapped. AJ Styles has been taken off of SmackDown’s current tour of South America, and will replace Wyatt in the match against Balor.

These withdrawals come after reports surfaced online that Bo Dallas had been kept off the road due to a viral illness, with Bray Wyatt and Raw ring announcer Jojo also being kept off the road as a safety precaution. Meanwhile, AJ Styles had been pulled from a SmackDown house show in Buenos Aires on Thursday night with reported stomach flu – although this may have been a cover to get him back to the States in time for Sunday’s PPV in Minneapolis.
