Pete Dunne injured, WWE UK title match set for tonight canceled

The planned match between WWE United Kingdom champion Pete Dunne and Jack Gallagher for the UK title at tonight’s PROGRESS Wrestling event in New York will not be taking place as Dunne got injured yesterday.

The current champion suffered 11 stitches to his head while wrestling Darius Carter at an event promoted by Battle Club Pro in Brooklyn yesterday and the match had to be cut short so Dunne could receive medical attention. Dunne has not been medically cleared to compete tonight or tomorrow in Boston.

Jim Smallman, the PROGRESS Wrestling co-owner, said in a video uploaded on Twitter that Dunne will still be appearing on both shows although he will not be wrestling.
