Paige stripped off her NXT Women’s title

NXT General Manager John “Bradshaw” Layfield stripped Paige off her NXT Women’s title in a video which was published on WWE.COM but was then later removed from the website.

JBL confronted Paige who was holding both the Divas and NXT Women’s titles and told her that it’s not fair for NXT to have its title carried by someone who’s now on the main roster and since she will be defending the Divas title everywhere it makes sense for the NXT Women’s title to return to NXT.

JBL also announced that a tournament will start to determine the new NXT Women’s title and with WWE scheduled to tape NXT today at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, the tournament will most likely kick off with tonight’s tapings.

Paige won the Women’s title last year on an episode of NXT which aired on July 24 after defeating Emma in the finals of an eight-women tournament to become the inaugural champion. She held the title for a total of 308 days.
