New Year’s Eve Raw to be taped a few days before

The New Year’s Eve episode of Monday Night Raw will not be live and will be taped a few days before on Friday, December 28 at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

This year, Raw will fall on Christmas and New Year’s eves while Smackdown will be on Christmas and New Year’s day. While it’s not completely confirmed yet and considering this particular Raw is being taped, the other shows – Raw on Christmas Eve, Smackdown on Christmas Day, and Smackdown on New Year’s Day – are highly likely to be taped as well.

Usually there’s no rest for the Superstars and last year Raw was live on Christmas and New Year’s Day with Smackdown live the following day as well. The last time that Raw and Smackdown didn’t fall on either the day of the holidays or the next day was in 2015.

Tickets for the taped Raw on December 28 go on sale on September 15 at 10AM EST.
