Former MMA star and indie darling Matt Riddle made his first WWE appearance at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn as he was introduced while he was sitting among the crowd.

The former EVOLVE champ got a huge ovation from the Brooklyn crowd as he was shown on camera. Riddle lost his EVOLVE title a few weeks ago as it was evident that he was going to WWE.

Riddle will start his WWE career at the Performance Center soon and will be tagging along in NXT. He is considered to be one of the best indie wrestlers but his constant use of marijuana has prevented him from working with the big leagues. WWE does not allow the substance to be consumed as part of their Wellness Program. Riddle tested positive twice for marijuana while in the UFC, overturning two of his wins to no contests.
