Mass layoffs in four departments at WWE

It was an ugly day at WWE Headquarters yesterday with a lot of people losing their jobs as WWE continues to streamline its operations, merging departments and trimming employees left, right, and center.

Deadline.com reported that the mass layoffs impacted those in television, film, features, and social media departments. The Advanced Media Group, which operated the digital and social media was decimated and the remaining survivors will be merged under the TV department with Kevin Dunn, the EVP of Television Production, running the operation. Several cuts related to social media were also made at WWE UK.

All those who were terminated were informed via a phone call by WWE President Nick Khan according to Deadline. Those receiving the dreaded phone call included a senior vice president, executive vice presidents, vice presidents, directors, and others.
