In unfortunate timing, WWE heads to the Middle East next week

WWE stars and crew are set to jet off to the Middle East next week for Friday Night Smackdown and Night of Champions which are scheduled to take place from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia also happens to be smack in the middle between two countries at war at the moment: Israel and Iran.

Night of Champions is pretty much sold out at the Kingdom Arena and Smackdown the night before also has a healthy number of tickets out.

WWE has so far not commented on the situation and as of this moment, the shows are still set to go.

With the U.S. involvement in the bombing of Iran last night, the situation might change however and the next few days should paint a clearer picture of the crisis in the area. A lot of air space in the region is also closed so if they still decide to pursue the shows, those working the events might have to sit on the plane for a little bit longer due to detours to avoid the dangerous skies.
