Drew McIntyre talks original proposed WWE gimmick on The Rich Eisen Show

238

WWE champion Drew McIntyre joined The Rich Eisen Show to promote his participation in Sunday’s SHAQ Bowl and the hosts had a ball teasing McIntyre about the original gimmick proposed to him when he joined WWE.

When asked if he remembers what the original gimmick was before The Chosen One was, well, chosen, McIntyre replied, “Something to do with being a freakin’ male model!”

McIntyre said that the idea proposed to him was that the ramp would be his runway and he had to drop from the 260lbs he was weighing to look the part. He dropped to 235lbs and did his best to look like an Abercrombie & Finch model, even watching YouTube videos to see how male models walk. “I saw all my dreams crashing in front of my very eyes,” McIntyre laughed.

Eventually, Vince McMahon asked him about his honest opinion about the gimmick and McMahon could really see that he didn’t like it even though Drew said he’d do it if that’s what they want.

McIntyre is the first WWE Superstar to join the Rich Eisen Show since WWE announced their partnership with Peacock TV, who also distributes the Rich Eisen Show.
